The Body Shop Baked To Last Eyeshadows

Last week when I attended The Body Shop event I was very kindly given some eyeshadows from their new range ‘Baked-to-last’  it included eyeshadows, blushers and bronzers but today I just want to talk about the eyeshadows.
I was given eight which I believe are all the ones in the collection and as I’m sure you will agree they are all very beautiful. At the event we were given a little demonstration and they were applied wet over The Body Shop vitamin E spray and I would say this is how it works best, it brings out the pigmentation. I would say that when I use them dry the pigmentation is a bit of a disappointment but they are easy to apply and when in a rush you can even apply them with your fingers.

1. Copper
2. Moonstone
3. Jade
4. Quartz
5. Sage
6. Starlight
7. Sapphire
8. Amethyst

Although they are pretty and I like them I wouldn’t pay £9.50 for them simply because I think that is expensive and the pigmentation isn’t amazing and the colours aren’t very unique. However The Body Shop often has fabulous sales and I would pick up a few if they were half price.

What colour catches your eye the most?

What’s your favourite drugstore make up item?
In general I think nothing beats drugstore mascara! They're inexpensive and there is some really great ones out there esp. Maxfactor ones. I like blushes from Sleek, Maybelline mineral blush and even natural collection ones.

What’s you favourite foundation?
I feel like I haven't found the best one... I like Mac studio fix but breaks me out, I think Revlon colorstay makes me look too powdery Revlon Photo finish and Bourjois foundation doesn’t last long enough. But I do think photo finish is good, my favourite one at the moment X

Who has been the funniest blogger you've met in real life?
I'm really not too sure, I only get to meet people at events and there isn't usually much chance to talk or be funny but all the bloggers are very friendly and almost all bloggers I have met are funny. Sorry but I really have no idea who’s the funniest I'll keep this question in mind at the next event.

I saw your post about London. I don’t live there and was wondering, is it a nice place to live? Very expensive from what I’ve heard :(
I love London! I wouldn’t say it’s the prettiest city ever but there is always so much to see and do. I think it’s expensive in terms of house prices, rent, eating out and travel but I still love it!

Is Portuguese easy? You speak it already so is it that hard for you at A-level?
I was born in England so I have never had to write or read Portuguese so that aspect is hard. Also the essays you have to right are quite hard, in my exam I had to write an essay about literature and other arts so you have to no specialist language and know about the countries culture and artists.

Ps let me know if you have any requests or questions

The Body Shop event 2010

On Friday I attended The Body Shop Bloggers event in Westbury hotel in Mayfair. There was two different time slots morning and afternoon; I attended the morning one at 11am. I’m not going to talk too much about the products as I will do in-depth reviews and swatches once I get a chance to play around with them a little more.
We were given great food and it was lovely to meet not only the Body Shop PR team but also other bloggers and to have a chat.
We were then given little presentations about their new hair care range, the new vitamin C range, new Baked to last makeup collection and a petition to stop sex trafficking all of which I will go into depth in a separate post.
We also got the chance to draw hands in support of a charity to raise the awareness and stop sex trafficking and ice out own cakes, of course my cake was the worst one their!
Drawings above are all by celebs
The most interesting point I learnt was that the average women eats 4lb of lipgloss/stick here is a picture of Milly and Jennifer modelling what it would look like, if that’s the average imagine how much I will eat in my lifetime!

Reviews and swatches will come soon...

Hope you are enjoying your sunday

I recently received three items of clothing from the ‘Just In’ range at Republic. I got a dress, leggings and a top ….
The product I would say I was least impressed with was the dress for the simple reason that it’s to short on me, I’m 5ft7 but maxi dresses only seem to be design for people either 5ft5 and under or 5ft10 and over. I’m not over whelmed with the print either but it’s okay, I would wear it, the fabric is nice too and apart from the length it fits well. (£29.99)
I also got a pair of leggings which I really like but don’t think are really my style, they fit well and are good quality I don’t have any complaints apart from them not really fitting with the rest of my wardrobe. (£19.99)
My favourite piece was this top which looks quite boring and not very nice of but which I love on! It has to be worn with a top underneath or with bottoms which have a high waist as it is a cropped length. I love throwing it over jeans and a vest as it makes it that little bit more exciting and it is very comfortable, I’m sure you will see it in an outfit of the day very soon. (£24.99)
Top 6 picks from Republic Just In (clockwise from top left) …
Miso Strapless Corsage Dress £34.99
Soul Cal Floral Short £19.99
Crafted Bird Cropped T-Shirt £16.99
Blue by glamourous vintage floral shorts £19.99
Soul Cal T Bar Sandals £24.99
Miso Embellished Maxi Dress £39.99

Whats your favourite piece?

Boots 17 Precious metals

Until the 13th July you will be able to buy Boots 17 limited collection ‘precious metals’ it is a range with for different products each perfect for the summer. I previously review the nail polish click here to read it. As many of you know when it comes to shimmer I am not a fan so I was very surprised to like this collection, I think the sun must be getting to me!
I really love the gold detailing on the packaging!
The lipgloss is a red/orange colour with gold sparkles very wearable and summery. It comes with a doe foot applicator and the only negative thing I can think of is that the white top looks a little cheap. It is not sticky and a great price at £3.79.
The eyeshadow trio comes with three metallic colours which are perfect for night and day. The pigmentation left me pleasantly surprised!
The bronzer is my favourite of the whole range, which is odd as I don’t really like bronzers. It has stripes of four colours meaning that you can use only the dark colours or only the light colours and the reason I love it so much is that it also doubles up as eye shadow. The bronzer is shimmery and gives my skin a very healthy glow without highlighting my pores, great for everyone even for those that like me are scared of shimmer. The bronzer retails for £4.49 and is a must have!

I would say that these are perfect for summer and the bronzer is a must have, I will be taking it on holiday with me. If anything has caught your eye pick them up quick as they are only available until 13th July.

What’s your favourite 17 product? I want to try their lipsticks!

Floral print playsuit, £17, Primark
Sheer ruffle blouse in aqua, £13, Primark

Floral print dress, £15, Primark
Sheer boyfriend jacket in rose, £21, Primark
Black harem cuff trousers, £15, Primark

I’m not sure how keen I am on this collection from Primark. It’s very clear what they were inspired by floral fabrics, pastel colours and sheer fabrics. I’m not sure if this is going to be available in all Primark stores but I think most big stores should sell them.

I would buy the shorts and the harem trousers, what would you buy?

A Little Obsessed holiday checklist

I thought I would put together a list of products which I would recommend taking on holiday if you are going to a sunny place. This is quite a brief list and over the next few weeks I will go through what products I would specifically recommend.
Cleanser/makeup wipes
Moisturiser for face and body
Makeup and brushes
Hair products
Hair brush

Wash bag
Toiletry bag
Shower gel
Shampoo and conditioner
Toothbrush and toothpaste
Shaving cream (or use your conditioner if you don’t have very sensitive skin)
Beach stuff
Beach bag
Flip flops
Sun hat

Sun stuff
Sun lotion face
(Don’t forget hair sun lotion if you have very thin hair or usually burn your scalp)
Sun lotion body
After sun

Travel adaptors
Hairdryer and hair straighner
Camera and memory card
Luggage lock and tags
First aid kit

To check how much weight you are allowed to take in your luggage for both your carry on and check-in luggage.
Most airlines only allow bottle of liquid which are 100mls or less, but check with your airline.

And lastly have an amazing holiday.

Are you going away, if so where are you going?

Liz Earle Face Masks

I have combination/normal skin so I use two different face masks; Liz Earle deep cleansing mask which is for more acne prone and oily skin and Liz Earle intensive nourishing treatment mask which is for dry skin which need rehydrating. I use the deep cleansing mask on my t-zone and under my chin and the intensive nourishing mask on my cheeks and also my neck.
Liz Earle says the Deep Cleansing mask is
‘A highly concentrated clay and botanical mask that draws out impurities and excess oil, leaving your skin looking clean and clear. Specially formulated for combination, oily or problem skin. Not suitable for sensitive skin.’

It has aloe Vera, geranium essential oil, glycerine, green and white clay as well as honey, which are all great for the skin.
Packing wise its very classic like the rest of Liz Earle’s products but this has a rounded end which you can use to apply the product straight to your face, I think I would rather use my hands as it applies the product more evenly. Fragrance wise I’m not a fan, luckily its not over powering but it reminds me of green olives, which I love to eat but am not a huge fan of the smell.

After applying the product, I leave it on for about 15 minutes although they recommend 5-10 then using the sponges I remove it. I take one sponge in each hand and using warm water I remove it doing the same movements on each half on my face, lastly I splash my face with cold water.
My face is left looking fresher and my pores look smaller, it also cleared the breakout I had underneath my chin. I would recommend using this product everyday and just once a week, as it could dry out your skin. I really like this product and would repurchase it retails for £12.50 for 75ml and 2 sponges (the sponges are also available separately.) Click here to visit the Liz Earle website.
Liz Earle say the Intensive Nourishing Treatment mask is
‘Calming and deeply moisturising, this nutrient rich mask is a sanctuary for dehydrated, dry skin, or stressed skin. The perfect treat for skin overnight or whilst soaking in the bath.’

Some of its natural ingredients include borage oil, comfrey extract, Shea butter and glycerin.

Packaging wise again it is the classic Liz Earle packaging unlike the other mask it doesn’t have the rounded end so you must apply this one using your hands. Fragrance wise it is extremely light and I can barely smell it.

I leave this mask also on for 15 minutes and then remove it with the same sponges (as I use the masks at the same time) they do recommend you use a muslin cloth with this mask however it doesn’t come with anything to remove it with.

This mask adds moisture without leaving my skin greasy at all so could essential work even if you have slightly oily skin. It is a very calming mask and leaves my skin soft and healthy.
I would also recommend this mask £12.00 for 50ml (for an extra 75p you get a muslin cloth).
(above: Deep cleansing mask above, Intensive Nourshing mask below)

I am quite sure that one of these masks would work for almost everyone but both work for me.

Whats your favourite Liz Earle product? What mask do you use?

Mini Primark Haul

Hello Dolls! How are you all?

Yesterday during my revision break I went to Primark and picked up a few things. It was really weird actually, I kind of started to panic there was so many people and it was very hot inside so I didn’t pick up much. I was very disappointed with the selection of clothes as well; all the dresses were a bit ‘Blah’ quite dark and too short for me. I really wanted a playsuit or some nice shorts but they didn’t have any.

So here is what I did pick up…
Necklace £4
I need to stop buying statement necklaces I love them but have far to many now.
I have this ring in black as well but I had to get the red.
Love Neclace
This is on a long chain I think its really pretty...
Hair clips two for £1
I have already lost the other one but I love theses clips to just pin back my fringe
Not sure why I got these but they were only a £1 so I thought why not haha...
I don't think I will actually wear them
Ankle braclet £1
I don't actually like ankle braclets so not sure why I got this once again I think I got sucked in by the £1 price tag.

As you can see I didn't get very much but I also got my boyfriend some deck shoes, flip flops and sunglasses the men clothes at the moment are far more impressive then the women’s clothes!

Do you like ankle braclets?

Sleek Nail Polish- Lilac

Along with the turquoise Sleek Nail polish I was also given a lilac one which is one of my favourite nail polishes at the moment. I love lilac nails it goes with everything I wear and it isn’t as boring as red or pink.
The reason I reach for this one over the rest it it’s very easy to apply; only needs one coat to achieve great coverage and dries quickly. This also doesn’t chip easily but does wear off a little on the tips. The only negative comment I have is that it can be a little streaky.

I would definitely recommend this nail polish it would be in my top three nail polishes at the moment.

This is available from Superdrug’s and on the Sleek website.

What is your favourite summer nail polish colour?
