Monday Ramble- Week 2

Hi guys hope you are all well and enjoying your extended weekend if you live in the Uk. My parents are coming back from their holiday today and I must admit I am very happy they are coming back; being at home by myself just isn’t as fun. I even miss my mum’s nagging to tidy my room and do the house work.

I also really miss my wardrobe I have been reading some great fashion blogs and have been feeling really inspired and can’t wait to try out a few different outfits. I really need to go shopping to there is a few jackets and shoes which I am after.

I am super behind with my blog posts and still haven’t managed to catch up but hopefully I will get lots of new reviews up this weeks, I usually try to do reviews first but its far easier to do fashion posts where I don’t have to take lots of photos under good lighting.

I am lusting over a new camera and am not impressed by the quality of my camera at all. I am thinking of getting the Canon 500D which is an SLR and films videos (which is one of the main reasons why I want it.)

It any of you have any requests please let me know either in the comments or by email. Also don’t forget I have a formspring if any of you have any questions.

Hope you have a great week...

Fighting won't knock you out

I thought I would quickly share what I wore today, I love these trousers! They are a extra skinny pair of Cargo trousers which I bought about a week ago. I don't think they look amazing with this t-shirt and cardigan but I haven't been staying at home and am still living out of my suitcase.
They are actually from Primark and cost about £9 and I think they are a great alternative to jeans and the khaki green colour is great for the autumn!
I wore it with my favourite watch which I got on holiday for only 10 Euros and I know regret getting some more from the same shop, I also has a few of my bracelets which I never take of such as the one above which I bought in a Chinese shop also in Portugal for 1 Euro.
I also wore the ring above which is a double finger ring and is available in Primark.
Today I went to see Toy Story 3D with some of my cousins, it was the youngest ones first time at the cinema and he didn't quite understand why he had to wear glasses and he tried to catch all the 3D things coming towards him.

I picked up a new diary from WH Smith as well as some new pens and notebook from Wilkinson's. I am such a geek when it comes to stationary and I get super exited. I can now write lots of lists!

I'm thinking about challenging myself to a whole month of no jeans, would anyone else like to join me?
Hope you are having a great extended weekend!

Beauty Bible Books

I have quite a few different beauty books which I would love to review and share with you, the first two I am going to talk about are ‘The handbag Beauty Bible’ and ‘Beauty Bible Beauty steals’ both by Sarah Stacey and Josephine Fairley and both quite similar.
The first one to come out was ‘The handbag Beauty Bible’ it a rundown of beauty products tried and tested by 1000s of women which are then given a rating out of 10. It includes a tips and reviews of many different products from hair, skin makeup to fake tan. It includes a few images and is really well laid out and very easy to use!
The next book ‘Beauty Bible Beauty steals’ is a follow up to the first book however this one concentrates on less expensive products and most cost under £20.
Like the first one it also includes a few images and each product has a rating out of ten.

I think both books are great and I’m glad I have them! However they are not essential all the information found in these books can very easily be found online and it is pretty much like all the reviews you read on people’s blog although it is nice to have so many products all in one place.

What is your favourite beauty book? I have a few great ones to share soon!

Mally Makeup Review

I always have low hopes for brands that aren’t extremely well known and that I haven’t tried especially for mascaras and foundations. I recently tried the brand Mally which was set up by Mally Roncal a celebrity makeup artist, I have even read the the brand is loved by Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez and even Beyonce!
My favourite product is the volumizing mascara in black, I like to stick to brands I know and love for mascara as I am often disappointed by other brands. However, this mascara offers everything I look for in a mascara: it is very black, volumising, doesn’t smudge and easy to apply. The only minor criticism I have is that it takes a little while to dry. It is a little expensive at £19.38 but I would repurchase it.

The Highshine liquid lipstick is also quite nice, the colour isn't quite the colour I would chose but the quality is great! It also comes with a brush tip making it very easy to apply it, the little shimmer particles make lips look beautiful! It is quite long lasting, not drying and easy to wear.
Lipgloss in Super Natural
The concealer also seems like a good product although the shade ‘Rich’ is too dark for me. I love that it comes with a concealer and a setting powder as well as a brush perfect for applying the product. Although I haven’t been able to use it myself I have tried it on a friend and it offers great coverage and I will use the brush for other concealers. I would definitely try this in my shade!

Packaging for all the products is great although still quite simple it looks smart, modern and great quality. I even like the font!

All products are available to order on QVC and I would personally try some more of their products as these proved to be good quality products.

Shades of fall- Barry M Mushroom

know many of you must be thinking it’s a bit early for me to already be taking about autumn colours and shades but I live in rainy London where summer is short meaning we have pretty much hit autumn. Of course I’m still hoping for a little more sun but I must admit half way through each season I start to get bored and start hoping for the next season so I can pull out clothes and makeup which I haven’t used for a while.

Over the weekend I picked up two new Barry M nail polishes, both in what I considered an Autumn/winter colour but I later got home and wasn’t to over whelmed by the colour.
I chose to try ‘Mushroom’ first which looks like a medium tones brown with grey undertones which I actually thought I was going to hate. I applied two coats although one would have actually been enough, the colour was a slightly darker colour then what it appeared in the bottle and the quality was good like most other Barry M nail polishes.

I would say this colour is quite similar to Particuliere nail polish by Chanel but obviously much cheaper (I don’t own Particuliere but they appear to be similar in images) and Mushroom is actually quite a classic/elegant colour.

This nail polish pleasantly surprised me and will be on my nails all through the autumn and winter. I also bought racing green but I will save that for another post. What do you think of this nail polish? What is your favourite autumn nail polish?

Revlon PhotoReady foundation

The reason this review is so late compared to the hype which took over the blogging community a while back is because I was scared. I know it sounds pathetic but I was everyone said that it had glitter/shimmer and as many of you may I avoid most glittery makeup as I fear looking like a christmas bauble.

However, I really like this foundation even if it does have some shimmer, the shimmer is barely noticable and can only be seen if you have a lot of foundation on, in very bright day light.

This foundation offers meddium to heavy coverage and I find its best achieved by using my fingers  or brush and applying thin light layers.

The photo above shows the shimmer that is the foundation, I wouldn't say that you can actually see the shimmer this much in real life and this photo was taken under very bright light.

Is it better the Revlon Colorstay?
Yes! I’m not a huge fan of colorstay foundation, this offers a far prettier dewy finish, is easier to blend and looks more natural.

Would I repurchase?
Yes! It is a little expensive to drugstore but its the best drugstore foundation I have used, it makes my skin look great!

Whats your favourite drugstore foundation?

Lovea Bio Le Monoi Body Milk

Over the summer I like to make sure I keep my skin moisturised and usually look for a light body milk. A while back I was sent Lovea Bio Le Monoi Body Milk and have been using it for quite a while now.

This is a light and runny texture which is absorbed quickly into the body and which doesn’t leave you feeling sticky or greasy. A little of this product goes a long way and the pump makes moisturizing easier.

The scent is quite strong and possibly overpowering, personally its a fragrance I like but it is not for everyone.
This product kept my body moisturized all day even through the days i spent in the sun in 40C heat.

Would I repurchase?  Possibly it is very good but not absoultey amazing!
It is available from mypure.co.uk and retails for £6.99

More Lovea reviews to come very soon.

Monday Update

Don't usually upload pictures of my face onto here... so here we go but it will not be a weekly thing.

This week has been one of the most pointless but yet very stressful weeks I have gone through in a long while. I arrived back from my shorter then usual holiday late last Monday, I had a fabulous holiday and am exeptionally upset that I had to leave so early! My mother, father and brother all stayed for another two weeks making coming back to london that little bit harder.

The reason I came back was so I would be here to recieve my Alevel results which were decent but not amazing. Once upon a time I was actually pretty smart but I have manged to let myself slip and am not performing to my best ability, I did improve a little towards the end of this year but that didn’t change the fact that the year before I hadn’t put in enough effort.

Next month I will be starting university, studing marketing with fashion. I am super excited but still a little nervous, I am excited to learn lots about both marketing and fashion but I still don’t know if I want to live at home or move out! It seems like a big decision which I am still not totally ready to make.

I also haven’t blogged quite as much as I wanted to especially about beauty products, I have so many reviews and swatches to write, photograph and post but all I have been doing recently is fashion related posts. Although I love fashion posts I need to get some beauty posts written very soon as that is afterall the main point of this blog!

How has your week been? I think I might make this sort of post more regular, its quite relaxing and maybe a little boring for you. Thanks for listening!

If I could have anything...

If I could have anything that walked down the catwalk for A/W 2010/2011 it would be the amazing Burberry Aviator Jacket which I fell in love with.
It is both fashionable and (at least looks to be) warm! There is nothing better then practical fashion...

I am never ever going to afford it but am going to look around for a inexpensive aviator jacket.
Have you seen any around?

And all the rest...

I realised that I actually don't have very many more outfit of the day images to go up from my holiday so I thought a short quick post would be a good idea.
Above- Wearing head to toe primark other than my bag which is aldo. I like this skirt loads although I have had it for quite a while, this sandals were one of my favourites but didn't last too long.
I really hate flipflops but the above photo was taken just after I left the pool and sandals just aren't as practical.
I love the top above for both summer and winter and the hat makes me feel extra summery.
Shorts H&M
Top and Hat- Primark.
The photo above was taken at a wedding, I hadn't actually worn these sandals but they were far more comfy so I changed into them.
My dress is from Warehouse, shoes Monsoon and my beautiful cousins dress is from Oasis and shoes Wallis.

Where did you away to this summer?
Have you ever visited Portugal?

Already Taken

Naming each OOTD, OOTD can get a little boring so I have decided to name each OOTD after a song I have been listening to... today is Trey Songz- Already Taken.

Sadly I am back from Portugal but still have a few OOTD's to post from my holiday.
I had a great holiday and wish I could of stayed for longer!
I wore this outfit for some shopping as it is very comfortable but still looks okay, I love high waisted shorts!

Whilst shopping I picked up this two rings, my favourite is the one on the right. They also had a beautiful elephant ring sadly it was too big for me so I left without it!

More OOTD's from my holiday very soon, hope your enjoying them I have had a lot of requests for more.

I love this room its just beautiful!

Would you rather tag

1.Would you rather go out with messy hair and nice make-up, or nice hair and no make-up?
Neither would really bother me if I honest, I haven’t got nice hair so it is usually messy so I’m going to say I would rather nice make-up and messy hair. Plus, sometimes messy hair is a good thing.

2.Would you rather shave your eyebrows or have your eyelashes fall out?
I would rather shave of my eyebrows, I hate drawn on eyebrows but I’m not very good at applying fake eyelashes either.

3.Would you rather be forced to shop at only MAC or Sephora for the rest of your life?
I would rather be forced to shop at Mac as I can’t shop in Sephora in the UK.

4.Would you rather wear lipgloss/lipliner look or 80's perm?
I would rather lipgloss/lipliner look, 80’s perm would not suit me!

5.Would you rather leave the house with an obvious foundation line or overdone blush?
I would rather leave with overdone blush, after 30mins or so the overdone blush will become more natural but with foundation it will be noticable all day.

6.Would you rather wear MC Hammer pants or biker shorts in public?
I think I could rock MC Hammer pants as long as they are not metalic, think of them as harem pants.

7.Would you rather have a bad orange-y spray tan or really weird tan lines that can't be covered?
I would rather have weird tan lines that can’t be covered, there is nothing worse then an orange spray tan! If kim can rock it so can I!
8.Would you rather have a bad haircut or bad hair color?
I would rather have a bad haircut as dying over the bad hair colour would damage my hair even more.

9.Would you rather have youtube or twitter taken away forever?
I would rather live without twitter, instead I would use my facebook a little more.

10. Would you rather give up using makeup brushes or mascara?
I would rather giveup using makeup brushes, I often become to lazy to wash my brushes and opt to using my hands so it wouldn’t make much of a difference. Instead of using powder products I would just use cream products.

I tag everyone!
