Question Of The Week: Red Lipstick

When I first started blogging I featured Questions of the Week but it didn’t last very long. I thought I would start them up again, asking questions which relate to posts I am planning to write later in the week.It means I get to try out your favourite and ideas before I write a post hopefully this means I will give all my readers are more in-depth post. I may even feature some of your comments in the actual post.

As Christmas approaches I reach more and more for a red lipstick.
Today I am wearing an inexpensive one 17’s Showbiz but…

What is your favourite red lipstick?
What are your tips for wearing red lips?

I love Lady Bug by MAC it's the easiest red to wear as it's not too strong or bright but it's still a real true red. Also I always run a little concealer round my lips after applying it which makes it neat and nicely sealed in 🙂

I've just discovered Sleek Pout Paint in Pin Up which is amazing.
Also love Revlon Cherries in the Snow (bright pinky red) and MAC Viva Glam Cyndi (sheer easy to wear red)

MAC Viva Glam 1 is a really nice deep burgundy red that goes really well with olive skin. Unfortunately it's really drying

Natural Collection Cherry Red is also a real nice one and is not at all drying

Sleek pout paint in Pin Up is amazing! I much prefer it to wearing lipstick and it's high pigmentation means you only need a tiny bit. I love wearing red lipstick with liquid eyeliner outlining my eyes and mascara for a chic Parisian inspired look.

Whenever i wear red lipstick, which is usually Topshop lipstick in hazzard, I have to use lipcote, its stinks and tastes yuk but makes it last so much longer!

I think the one I've worn most is Wet'n'Wild MegaLast in Cherry Bomb. I don't wear lip products often enough to justify purchasing high end lipstick, and I love the burgundy tone of Cherry Bomb. I always wear it over UD 24/7 lipliner in Ozone.

Lately I have been wearing Revlon SuperLustrous Really Red, which is a true-red with a matte finish. For a matte it isn't drying at all and it is inexpensive as well. I also like Revlon's Black Cherry for a more vampy lip. My tips are that a lip liner is a must to create a neat outline and to apply the red lipstick with a lip brush because it really pushes the product into the lips, leaving a smoother finish with longer wear time.

Urban Decay's Revolution! It's so glamorous, but I'm not usually brave enough to wear it. I need to try some easier-to-wear lipsticks. x

I use Maybelline's Superstay in Cherry Pie, as it stays put for ages and has a conditioning balm with it, as I tend to find lipsticks that are made to last all day really drying. Love the colour you've got on though, it's a lovely shade and 17 are just so cheap!

I'm actually a big fan of Gosh lipsticks atm, which is great for some more budget makeup buying. I can't remember the exact shade of the red I have, but I wore it recently and it lasted ALL night without any touch ups. This never happens, I am absolutely useless with lipstick and it disappears about an hour after I've first applied it. Worth looking in to.

My favourite red lipstick is actually 17's showbiz!
Defiantly my all time favourite cheap lipstick brand.
I do find the lipsticks can stain the lips a little, but super staying power, what do you think of it? It loils great on you 🙂

Viva Glam Cyndi is my fave for a subtle red lip. For a full on red lip, Benefit Frenched. Have loved reading through all the comments/faves of others. V.nice post idea 🙂

I always apply red lipstick with a lip brush to make sure it's perfect, and often if I don't want a full blast of colour, I'll just dab it on and blend it in so it's more like a sheer lipstain. xx

Definitely Topshop's Hazard. When you get complimented by strangers in shops, that's when you know you're on to a good thing.

Red lips wouldn't look half as good without a lipliner, though.

I know this is from last week, but I'm just browsing old posts. I love Revlon ColorStay Liquid Lipstick in "Top Tomato" — but you have to apply a tiny tiny bit of chapstick before.
