Primark Summer 2011

I am a little unsure how I missed the Summer 2011 Press photos when they were released but I did. However I thought it was better late then never so here goes....

These images look far more professional then any I have previously seen by Primark that it looks like a completely different store!
Not too keen on the styling in the left image if I am honest (or maybe I just don't like the skirt) but the dress on the right looks beautiful!
This striped dress is beautiful and looks quite expensive but I prefer the shorts and tshirt they look really relaxed but still very fashionable! I would love the whole outfit! (Can I have her legs too?)

At first glance the above images are my favourite, today I bought similar pieces from Zara. However the trousers look too shiny and I am not too sure about the skirt, but I do love the tops, shoes and what a wonderful bag!

I think all these images show that Primark is moving in the right direction and although they haven't got it 100% right they have done well considering their clothes are so well priced.

What do you think? Which is your favourite outfit?

Proud to be British

I really had to blog about Princess Catherine's evening dress. WOW! It was also Alexander McQueen and was also stunning, I think I may prefer it to the actual wedding dress. It is so simple but still completely stunning, she got it spot on! Even her hair and makeup look picture perfect.

I also felt that this would be the last appropriate chance to show you some Royal Wedding inspired things I have.
I think the Republic Tshirt is really cute and a steal at just £12.99
And my favourites are these three England inspired frames from Primark, these were a complete bargain just £4 for all three!

What Royal wedding purchases have you made?

The Royal Wedding

Did you watch it all? I did even though I didn't understand what the huge fuss is about at first, I thoroughly enjoyed it and I think you really missed out if you didn't watch it!
Kate Middleton wore Alexander McQueen designed by Sarah Burton and it was stunning, not what I usually like but was very tasteful and classic!
Source
Her sister Philipa also wore Alexander McQueen and looked fabulous!
My other favourites were the Beckhams who both looked great and I also really like what Samantha Cameron wore even though lots of people commented that she didn't wear a hat.

The wedding was a great event for England and I wish them the best of luck!
Proud to be British
Might blog more later.

What do you have planned?

Complete Sleek Blush Swatches

I have been blogging quite a bit about SleekMakeup but after the event they held a few weeks back I now have quite a few products and always get such a great response when I talk about any of their products.
Today I will be talking about their blush which retail for just £4.30 on their website for 8g, which is great value for money especially as many of them are very pigmented. The packaging is really nice and classic with a useful sized mirror on the inside.

I currently have 11 different shades ranging from pastel pinks and corals to bright reds and deep pinks.

Above Pan-Tao

Coral
This actually isn't really a Coral blusher at all instead it is more of a browned orange and is completely matte.
Life's a Peach
Gorgous pastel matte Peach and love the name, one of the more sheer blushers
Sahara
Completely Matte orangey brown, this one is the one which scares me the most!
Pomegranate
Metalic berry colour it is very pretty, smooth and pigmented.
Flushed
Plum toned matte colour, perfect for darker skin tones.
Rose Gold
Often compared to Nars Orgasm blush it is a peachy pink with a golden sheen.
Flamingo
This is the one I reach for the most, easy to wear bright pink. Very pigmented and would look good on almost all skin tone.
Sunrise
At first I was so scared of this colour but in fact I love it! It is a pink with red/brown undertones with a golden sheen.
Pixie Pink
Bubblegum Pink with no shimmer, perfct everyday colour if applied with light hand.
Scandalous
Extrememly pigmented red blush (dupe for Nars Exihbit A, apparently) Doesn't work with my pale skin.
Pao Tan
Very Orange peach

 Click Photo to enlarge
Sorry I am not too good a decribing colours but I hope it helped. I would say there is something in this range for every skintone and at just £4.30 you can afford to experiment.

Apply the blushers with a light hand as many are very pigmented, it is much easier to build them up lightly then to blend them away.
Some of the colours are limited edition but are all online on the Sleek website apart from Life's a Peach.
SleekMakeup is also available from Superdrugs and Online.

Filthy Gorgeous Tipsy

I have really been enjoying the weather the last couple of days here in London. Yesterday I took a quick photo of Tipsy Nail Polish by Filthy Gorgeous whilst in Hyde Park and I think you might agree its a very pretty colour.

I love the quality of Filthy Gorgeous nail polishes and that they have no shimmer.
Tipsy is a very pretty lilac shade perfect for the summer and a colour I will undoubtedly be wearing a lot! It is easy to apply, fashionable, last a long time and is a summery colour what else could I ask for?

My Skincare

Sadly I was not blessed with perfect skin and had acne for many of my teenage years however now aged 19 I think I am learning to control it more. Do I have perfect skin? No, but I have a skin routine which gives me significantly better skin then I have ever had.

If you do have bad skin you should know you are not alone and it’s something that you will probably learn to control sooner or later. I think it is worth speaking to your doctor about it if it is really affecting you, they can often prescribe stuff to help improve it. I tried various creams given by the doctors but none really helped. I then went onto the contraceptive pill in order to help clear my skin and although this did work quite well for me it is something that may not be right for you and does have other side effects. Although it did help clear my skin I chose to come of it as I had other side effects and I felt I wanted to see if I could keep my skin clear without being on the contraceptive pill.
I now use 4 inexpensive products which I love and which I recommend to all my friends.

Cleansers

Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser and No7 Hot Cloth Cleanser
I use both these cleasers as although I think the Liz Earle on is better the No7 one is cheaper so I switch between them. Someday I even use both of them if I want to cleanse twice and am wearing a lot of makeup. I don't really feel the need to use a exfoliator when I use this product either as the muslin cloths exfoliate my skin lightly every time I use it. Review here- Liz Earle and No7
Oilatum
Even though there is quite a huge hype around this product but I wasn't expecting too much, however it hydrates my skin without leaving it oily. Review here
Sudocrem
I don't really need to use SudoCrem any more however if I do happen to have a blemish I simply put a little of this on just the blemish and go to bed, in the morning the blemish has usually been dried out.

Although this is by no means a perfect skincare routine it works for me, I would recommend using a few other products such as a toner and a face mask. I use a Liz Earle mask and toner but neither is essential in my routine.

Filthy Gorgeous Nails

Last week I attended a bloggers event for a relatively new brand which I had only heard about from Mouldy Fruit's reviews, but which had caught my eye due to the bright and beautiful colours. Filthy Gorgeous also offer beauty and retail services in Debenhams in London and Glasgow. Click here to see photos from event.
At the event I got my nails done in this lovely minty colour (unsure of the name, sorry!) and I was surprised at how well it applied and was pretty opaque after one coat. I also kept it on a few days without any chips!

Filthy Gorgeous nail polishes are formulated with a careful  blend of film formers, which resist water and detergent and UV absorbers which maintain colour fidelity and durability. The quality of these nail polishes is excellent, after 4 days of wear there are no chips just some slight wear at the tips. They dry quickly, apply easily and keep a high gloss shine for 4 days+
Minx- A rich cornflower blue
Just like fashion this seasons nails are all about colour blocking and with over 30 nail polishes this range offers lots of stunning and bright colours to chose from!

There is one little problem I have with the brand and that is that I personally dislike the packaging. Not only do I think the bottles look a little cheap (similar to stargazer nail polishes) but the the black and silver part which you hold leaves awful grey marks all over your hands just from holding it!  I do think that the pros outweigh the negatives with this product but I do think it is something that should be worked on.
Example of nail art from Filthy Gorgeous, how stunning is the above colour!?

These nail polishes retail for £9 from Debenhams and online. Check out there website and Facebook Page.
I have a few more colours to review and I have my eye on L-Jay which I might have to buy as soon as I get a chance!
What do you think of these nail polishes?

Matalan Swimwear 2011

With great 20C+ weather over the next few days in London I thought it would be perfect to talk about Matalan's Summer Swimwear. I blogged briefly about the event I attended but thought I would also share some of my favourite pieces from the lookbook.
Matalan swimwear is very affordable and they offer a variety of styles from swimsuits to bikinis. I love that the bikini top and bottoms are sold separately so if you are bigger in one then the other you can mix and match.

The above dresses, playsuits and shoes are Matalan at its best in my opinion! I love how stunning all the patterns are, they are all so easy to wear and fashionable. The shoes are so inexpensive ranging from £16-18 and are perfect for shopping in the city or a beach holiday!

Matalan also offer great flat sandals at really affordable prices £12-16 I think I might buy a few of these for my holidays!

Summer to me is all about gold jewelry, I just love how beautiful it looks against tanned skin. The feathers and touch of colour add a little quirkiness to any outfit!

What do you think of my picks from the Lookbook?

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Sheer Lip Tint

If you like beauty and skin care I am sure you have heard of and probably own the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour cream. I see it as one of those miracle creams that I reach for when I'm not sure what else to use but I mainly use it on burns, very dry skin and my lips. However, I have recently been trying out Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Sheer Lip Tint in the colour Blush.
One of the first things I noticed about this product is that it has SPF15 which is very important now that spring is on its way. The packaging isn't the greatest packaging but its quite fuss dress like most of Elizabeth Arden's range. I do wish that for £18.50 the packaging looked a little more expensive.

It is of course a Sheer Lip tint which I think is perfect to wear as an everyday product as it is moisturising but still adds a slight colour
My cousin kindly agreed to model the colour on her lips, as you can tell it doesn't add too much colour and isn't too glossy either.
Unlike the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour cream this doesn't have that awful strong smell, but it does still have quite a strong citrus smell which I do quite like.

This product comes in four different shades, Blush, Berry, Honey and Plum Blush is a pretty pink colour but I am sure one of the other colours would suit you if you are not a fan of pinks. If you find them a little too sheer they also work well with a lip liner underneath them.

This isn’t quite as moisturising the original cream but it’s nice to have a similar formulation in a lipstick form.

This product retails for £18.38 in Boots and department stores.

What is your favourite lip balm?

Me & My Chinos

Camel Pleated Chinos- Select Fashion
Cream Crochet blouse- Awear
Open toe heels- Primark
Black Tote- Dune
Gold Watch- Michael Kors
Ring- H&M
Now that the weather is looking a little better I am really loving sheer blouses and chinos, I really want some bright coloured chino's to try out the colour blocking trend but haven't found a perfect pair yet. I hope to buy a few more Chinos and brightly colour silk vests to go with them. I really need a big shopping trip soon!

These Chino's were such a fantastic bargain at just £16 and they come in a few other colours which I am considering buying! The blouse is also very pretty and versatile, I think I will get a lot of wear out of it!

Hope you are all having a fantastic weekend!

Sleek Makeup True Colour Lipsticks

When I think of SleekMakeup I think of fantastic pigmentation and affordable products, their lipstick offer exactly what I would expect! SleekMakeup True Colour Lipsticks is a range Ff 20 strong lipsticks in a variety of shades and with either a matte or sheen finish.

I have four colours to talk about today
Peaches & Cream, Amped, Pink Freeze and Stiletto
The packaging to the range is pretty standard but still classic and practical.
Peaches & Cream is a sheen lipstick and the other three are matte. As you can see the pigment is amazing, with just one swipe you get a opaque bright colour.
I would say that you do need a good lip balm underneath these lipsticks as they can be quite drying but all in all fantastic colours for just £3.99. My favourite are Amped and Pink Freeze but within the whole range there are a few lipsticks for everyone as the colour range is fantastic!

The new True Colour Range launched today at Superdrug and is a permanent product.

What do you think of these colours?

Eyeko LIPTASTIKS Review

I was kindly sent this three Liptastiks by Eyeko during the week with a note which reads
' Hey Sabrina, Make a bold lip statement with Eyeko LIPTASTIKS hope you'll agree they're FANTASTIC'
Left to right: Lip lover, Hot lips and Loud Mouth

I actually wasn't expecting too much from these lipsticks but in reality they actually are fantastic! To me makeup is all about eyeliner and mascara on eyes, dewy skin and bold lips, although I do switch it up a little every now and then I always come back to this. These lipsticks are perfect if you like bold lips, first line your lips with the tip and then fill them in. The pigmentation is excellent, staying power is fantastic and the price of £6.50 is also quite good!
Top to bottom: Hot lips, Lip lover and Loud Mouth

There isn't a huge variety within the range but there is a colour for everyone and  personally would wear all of them. Packaging isn't the prettiest but its quite nice to be able to line your lips and the twisty end which allows you to wind it up.
Colour: Hot Lips

Lip Lover is a orangey red, Loud mouth is a slightly more purple pink and Hot lips is a true pink.
You can also get all three lipsticks for just £13 which I think is a fantastic offer!
Don't forget to use my ambassador code E2749 at the checkout to receive another gift!

Wednesday Ramble

Hello all my lovely readers! I hope you are all well and are enjoying you week so far. If you are living in London/England I hope you enjoyed the beautiful sun today, we haven’t seen it in quite a while!

As I am sure you can tell I have been blogging far less then I use to, but sometimes life just takes over a little more than I would want it to. My list of things I need to blog about and review is starting to look a little ridiculous it is so long and as soon as I get the chance I will start making my way through it. At the moment I have been busy with finishing university work, my part time job and I have attended a couple of events as well.

Last Friday was the SleekMakeup event, which was great fun as I got to see a lot of my favourite bloggers as well as try some SleekMakeup products. It’s always really nice to have big blogger events and its great fun to chat to everyone. SleekMakeup also have some great new products which I am really excited to share with you, I will of course review and swatch everything shortly.

I also went to The Vitality show a few weeks ago; all photos can be seen here. I picked up quite a few new products and signed up for Race for Life. I would recommend attending the event next year if you are into healthy living although they do have a few beauty stands it is mainly about healthy living.

I have lots of exciting things coming up over the next few weeks and as I have an Easter break I hope to catch up with all my blogging.

I also passed 2000 followers on blogger which is completely incredible and 1000 on my twitter, thank you all so much it really is amazing and means so much to me! I will be doing a giveaway soon so keep an eye out for that!

Hope you are all having a fabulous week! XX
