Glitter Nails: OPI Rainbow Connection

These aren't the most attractive photos but I actually smashed my OPI Rainbow Connection so these are the only photos which I have to show of it.

I have seen quite a few people talk about this OPI colour especially now that everyone is currently loving glitter polishes. I don't usually buy OPI polishes, I don't really use the same colour enough to justify spending too much on nail polish but I gave into the hype and bought this.
I'm really sorry that you can see my natural nail underneath but in real life it didn't look quite as bad and this is with quite a few coats! As you can see it is a glitter nail polish made up of different colour and different size sparkles.
It does apply quite sheer but surprisingly doesn't feel quite as grainy as I first thought. However I really don't love this colour and I won't be repurchasing it even though my bottle did smash. It isn't quite as glittery as I had hoped and  I think all the colours really don't work too well together. I even think the nail polish is slightly dull.
If I did still have this nail polish I would wear it over a gold nail polish as it adds to the glittery-ness.

What do you think of this colour? What OPI glitter polishes have you tried?

What Father Christmas Brought...

I just some great presents this year along with store vouchers, money, chocolates and the obligatory socks and underwear. I thought I would share just a few of the things I got with you although I will do more in depth posts about a few of the things.

I was a little naughtily and open a present before Christmas, my friends mother had given me a little box which I guessed was a lipstick so when I got locked out of my house with no keys but a little Christmas present waiting to be opened I couldn't resist. When I saw the gold box that the YSL lipstick comes in I literally squealed. This was actually one of my favourite presents, I can't justify £22 on a lipstick but it is just such a perfect gift. It is one of the YSL Rouge Voluptes and in is 11. Rose Culte which is a stunning bright pink slightly red colour, just my cup of tea. It has however tempted me into buying lots more colours, maybe Father Christmas will bring me some more next year!
I was lucky enough to get three presents from my boyfriend and I love all of them (which is rare with him.) He bought me a 'The Boss and always will be' mug which I literally love! We always joke about me being the boss and a bit of a control freak, it really made me laugh when I opened it on Christmas. It wasn't what I was expecting but it's a joke we have always shared. I also got a Marc by Marc Jacobs Katie Bracelet which I had asked for and the ring which I hadn't. You can't really see it clearly in the above photo but it is a very chunky bracelet and ring with a turn lock clasp. He'd first bought it in silver as the gold is very hard to find however they do have it in Selfridges, it isn't to everyones taste but I love anything gold and chunky!

I didn't receive many other beauty products other than the Best of the Best Nail polish set by OPI which I think is just fabulous because I never finish a nail polish so this gives me ten mini colours to play with and I also got the Nina Nina Ricci Perfume which is a lovely sweet scent.

My younger cousin made me this little cushion which is just too cute and goes perfectly with my room, it's always extra special when someone takes the time to make something!

I got a couple of other bits such as these massive fashion books and a River Island iPad case which has now become it's new home. I also really like the Love frame which will be replacing my current frames that are on my wall. My parents both got me a toy car as a joke since I have been asking for a car for a while. I received a couple of jumpers and DVD's as well but I going to exchange the jumpers as they aren't quite my style. The DVD set is of two of my favourite films The Notebook and My Sisters Keeper as well as The Time Travellers wife which I need to watch again as I fell asleep and it got a tad complicated.

All in all I am very happy and thankful for all my gifts, I hope people enjoyed the ones which I gave them too!

How was your Christmas and what did you receive?
Let me know if you would like a post about any particular gift!

Ramble/Update

I feel like I have been gone forever and I guess over a week almost is forever in the blogging world! I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas filled with family, food, laughs and a couple of nice presents.

I had a great Christmas although I have been working lots! I worked all day Christmas Eve, Boxing day and I have had way too many 7am starts recently. Working in retail really does take the magic away from Christmas but it is nice to be earning some extra money even though I barely have time to spend it.
I did spend Christmas at my aunts house with all my family which is always good fun and I got some fabulous gifts which I will be sharing with you very soon! I actually have no plans for New Years Eve, I'm working until 6 and think I might just spend it with my family.

I got quite a bit of money as presents for Christmas but I actually haven't really been shopping, I haven't felt really inspired recently and therefore haven't bought anything. The sales are on and I feel like I should go shopping but the idea of having to push and shove past people on Oxford St isn't really appealing too much to me, especially since there's nothing I really want or need. Saying that I have bought my self a new pair of slipper style shoes from Next and a fabulous new bag from the Aldo Sale shop which was under £25!

I went to the cinema yesterday as I haven't been in a while, I wasn't too keen on going as I still haven't even started my coursework which is due in a couple of days but I decided I'd tag along to see The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I usually watch Chick Flicks but had heard great things about the film and actually really enjoyed it and would recommend it.

A while ago I spoke some John Freida Films which I had shot with them and they are now on the John Freida YT Channel. I really don't like my hair up and although I don't like the look on me it is quite easy to create and does make a nice up do. Click here and here to see the videos, let me know what you think of the finished look in the comments.

Sorry if this post is a little all over the place, I just had lots to say! Hope you are all having a great week!

Christmas Gifts: The Boys

I am awful at giving boys and men Christmas presents! This year I have got just a couple of things such as this stunning jumper from Common Sons which is fabulous quality and hand made in Britain. They can get quite expensive but they are actually on sale on the ASOS website if you are interested.

I have two inexpensive products which are an FCUK gift set with a body wash and body spray which is a fabulous price at £8 and something both my boyfriend and bother have been arguing over is these case from Smiley. They also have quite a good fun range of products for men and women.

But I feel extremely inspired by Jimmy Kimmel, hope my little cousins are happy with a half eaten sandwich and the book Why Are Orangutans Orange?

Christmas Gifts: Last Minute Guide

I had lots of gift guides planned for Christmas however it is this week and I have barely put up any of my ideas. Its such a crazy time of the year that I haven't had quite as much time so I thought I would take today to share lots of different ideas.

If like me you haven't quite finished you're Christmas shopping I hope this will help you and you'll see a couple of thing which you think are perfect for your friends.
Accessorize Watch/Bracelet
Not everyone likes watches but I think this bracelet is a nice alternative as it doesn't look like a watch and is just very adorable! Perfect for any teen who seems to have everything!
Dirty Works Saving Face
I think Dirty Works from Salisbury's is such a nice option for Christmas presents if you are looking for something a little more inexpensive. Often vintage inspired packaging comes with slightly higher price tag but everything from this range is affordable. The makeup bag is really pretty and very practical as you can just wipe dry, the mirror is a hand bag essential!
Fresh Brown Sugar Muse
These actually aren't very easy to purchase and I believe you have to go into the London Based Fresh Store in order to purchase these in the UK. However these are an extra special gift especially for people that like to avoid parabens, sulfates and synthetic fragrances, plus its just £20! It includes a Sugar Rose Lip Treatment, Brown Sugar Eau de Parfum spray and a Brown Sugar Body Cream. The packaging is also really lovely and I'd be very happy to see this under my tree!

Hello Kitty Stationary from WHSmith
If you are looking for something for younger girls, even to mid teens Hello Kitty is usually a safe bet. I love this stationary and I don't think I could part with it even if I am a little old for pink glittery notebooks and pencils. Available here
I Love.. Miniature Collection
Another Inexpensive present idea is this I Love... Miniature gift set available in a range of scents you can chose them the perfect one! Available from Superdrugs.
No7 & Poppy King
This is one of my favourite gifts this Christmas from Boots No7, the only problem is if you do buy it you won't want to give it away! For just £12 you get two lipglosses, a lip brush and a lip & cheek due. You can't really go wrong!

Rodial Bathing Balm
If you are looking for a very luxurious present this Rodial Bathing Balm is perfect! Its a thick gel, which has a light fruity smell and is prefect for anyone that loves baths £30.
Sanctuary Ultimate Facial in a Box
Every time I give away Sanctuary products I always get told that they loved all the products. This year I have one of these great Ultimate Facial in a box both for myself and for a friend, perfect for helping moisturise winter skin! £20

Hopefully that was helpful to some people, sorry it wasn't as in depth and I had hoped!

Have you finished all your Christmas Shopping?

December Glossy Box Christmas Special

Last time I reviewed the Glossy Box I was actually really impressed however this month I am even more impressed and I couldn't help but squeal when I saw the content of this months box.

As it is December they made this months GlossyBox a Christmas special to get you in the festive spirit. The biggest difference is the colour of the box I love that it is all Christmasy and red (although I am glad this isn't the usual colour!)
Inside there are five products
BLINK+Go Hi Definition Mascara
Cargo Cosmetic Classic Lip Gloss
Deborah Lippmann Mini Nail Polish
MeMeMe Seventh Heaven
Ritual Foaming Shower Gel
(Sorry about horrible image, had camera on the wrong setting!)

I am so impressed with this box I think I would buy everything in the box except the Rituals Foaming shower gel, simply because I don't like the scent. I was extremely excited to see the Deborah Lippman polish even if it is a mini I can't wait to use it. I think that their nail polishes are so expensive but so stunning so it is really nice to get to try it especially at Christmas time! It also came with a Stripper to go which is suppose to make removing glitter polish easier.

I can't wait to try the mascara and I think that its a product must people use so perfect for boxes like these. The lip gloss is a nice colour which I am sure I will wear a lot and the MeMeMe Seventh Heaven is something I have never tried but does interest me.
Overall I loved this Glossy Box and the next one is suppose to be a special one too so you still have time to subscribe or even gift a box bundle to someone special for Christmas.

They recently sent out their men's GlossyBox which also looks fantastic, perfect gift for any man that loves beauty!

Check out the Glossy Box Website for more information

Schwarzkopf LIVE Salon Style

When I first saw the promo shots of Louise Redknapp's new hair I instantly fell in love! I love it when blonde's change their hair to brunette especially in winter! I think it completely changes their look and makes their features stand out more.
I do love Louise Redknapp's hair blonde especially in summer but change is good!

Louise's colour is Chocolate Brown which is quite warm, it has really brought back the shine. She used the new LIVE Salon Style by Schwarzkopf which is said to the first professional quality hair colour to be developed for home use. It promises lots of good stuff like shinny, healthy hair and to cover greys.

I haven't actually tried anything from the LIVE range myself however I have heard that the colour is always fabulous as is the formula so it will be interesting to see if it is even better!

I love colouring my hair at home and I will be trying this in  chocolate brown very soon, I'll let you know how I get on soon!

Also have a watch of this video if your having trouble picking the right shade for you and check out the Live Salon Style Colour Booth App here.

This has really made me want to dye my hair again and it's very affordable at £5.99

Umberto Giannini Painted Lady
This is palette is nice because it has a variety of colours and includes both eyeshadows and lip glosses. I also think the slightly grungy but still glamours image on the from is stunning!

Surprisingly this is one of my favourite palettes, the colours are very wintry but still extremely wearable and it comes with eyeshadows, blushers and lipglosses. Urban Decay Naked Palette
If you are looking to give a eyeshadow palette to one of your friends or sister then the Urban Decay Palette is essential as it has 12 basic eyeshadows every girl needs and they are all top quality! If they are slightly more daring try one of the other Urban Decay Palettes such as the Book Of Shadows.

Christmas Gifts:Prettiness from Swarovski and Clarins

When I first received these two products I was incredibly excited, they seem to be the perfect Christmas Gift. Neither gift is something I would ever buy myself but it is something which I am so glad to have received.
Aura By Swarovski Crystal Gloss for Lips £48*
Now £48 for a Lip Gloss in pretty packaging isn't something I would usually recommend buying but everything about this is very luxurious and it would make an amazing present. Everyone that comes to my house gets shown this by me, I show them every little bit. I love the packaging, the pleated box, the little silver box inside and of course the charm and lipgloss itself. The lipgloss is presented in a heavy weight charm with stunning little crystals, this is a must have collectable piece.

Perfect gift for someone who loves pretty things, so pretty much every woman.
Limited Edition Passion Face Palette £35*
The second is a palette from Clarins although I said I wouldn't buy this for myself some people would. I think this palette is perfect because it looks and feels expensive. It is in a heavy duty compact with a pretty pattern which I think is quite Christmasy with the gold and red. The face powder is embossed with a motif and is just stunning.
Perfect for a woman who loves good makeup and is slightly older (not a teen.) A very sophisticated present perfect for your mother or sister!
What do you think of these two gift ideas, would you be happy if Father Christmas left them under your tree?

Glitter Nails: Favourite Glitter Polish

& Not so favourite Nail wraps.

By far my favourite glitter nail polish and my current favourite nail polish at the time is Chelsea Embankment I have actually blogged about it here. I just think its a perfect it is perfect for winter and Christmas but would also look amazing in the summer with a tan! I am having to almost force my self not to wear this colour I like it that much, especially as I wear a lot of gold jewelry I think this nail polish really ties into all my outfits!
On a slightly less positive side I picked up these heart nail wraps in H&M at under £4 I probably should have expected a lot. Once applied they did last well however they were hard to get on as they ripped incredibly easily! The choice of size also isn't as good as some of the other nail wraps I have tried so I won't be repurchasing any H&M nail wraps.
Whats your favourite nail wraps?

As Christmas is 2 weeks away I am getting a little worried about the lack of Christmas shopping I have actually done (and Christmas blog posts) but I think I finally know what I will be buying my mum.

Christmas Gifts: Candles

Yesterday's post spoke about how I think any Christmas Beauty gift should ooze luxury and another fabulous gift which I think you should splash out on are candles. Very few people (I think) buy themselves expensive candles but no only do they smell and look great they are very indulgent and luxurious! I find candles extra special in winter, there is something warming and homely about them this is why I think they make a perfect Christmas gift!
Pearl Lowe for DP
I'm not saving the best until last today, this is my favourite candle everything about it is beautiful! It smells amazing, looks amazing,  is completely organic and includes nothing nasty! They come in a few different scents so there will be something that you will love. £30 available from ASOS also check out the mini set

 The White Company
The White Company sells fabulous candles, I currently have the Peony Candle which is another organic beautiful soft floral scent. It comes in a perfect little box that looks great when giving it as a present but also when storing it. At £20 it is very affordable but if you want something extra special try the large three wick candle.
Eve Taylor Wild Fig & Grape
I actually thought this candle was a much more expensive then it is! Although slightly harder to get this candle is also slightly different to other candles I own. It is 100% natural, has a low melting point and can be used as a luxurious moisturiser on hands, feet and arms! And it is a bargain at £12.59
Neom Luxury Organics
Neom is quite a new brand but has quickly become very popular within the beauty community. It's a perfect light feminine scent that comes packaged in a elegant box, once again it is 100% organic and very affordable at £13.
And if you want something slightly cheaper for yourself try Ikea, TU at Sainsburys and Primarks candles they come in a variety of scents and are very affordable!

Although I do believe that you are better of spending a little more and purchasing a fabulous quality organic candle which will look nice after you have blown it out and is healthier for you too as it has no paraffin wax as it is a harmful chemical.

What is your favourite candle? Would you like a candle for Christmas?
