Benefit Complexion & Lip & Cheek Kits

I’m in two minds about how I feel for Benefit. I love the packaging, some products are great but some aren’t and are a little over prices. However I was excited to try these two new kits as at under £25 and with a variation of products these seem affordable and a pretty good deal.

Sugarlicious is one of fourteen kits by Benefit, it is sold as a ‘Delicious nude…lip & cheek kit’ and comes with four products Benetint, Highbeam, Sugarbomb and Ultra Plush Sugar Bomb lipgloss. It includes natural shades and some real cult Benefit products such as Benetint!

Both boxes come with a step by step how-to, a good size mirror and a brush. I have been wanting to try Sugarbomb for a while so was very excited and think it works really well with Benetint and Highbeam. I like that it also has a lipgloss although I am not a big fan of Benetint on the lips as the instructions suggest. The look is really lovely and glowing which is what I usually go for but you can chose to use just one of the cheek products at a time if you wish. If you aren’t a fan of Sugar bomb there are also sets with Coralista and Dandelion

I also think it is really nice that you can remove the insert and use it as a box! However, considering it is something they suggest you do I think its a little impractical that the blush doesn’t have a little case, where would you put it?!

The other Kit I tried was the How to look the best at everything complexion kit which comes with a the Porefessional Primer, Hello Flawless Foundation, Bo-ing concealer in shade 01 & 02 as well as Hello Flawless powder. The kit I have is in Light which is too light for me as the foundation shade is Champagne but I already had the shade Honey which is what I put on instead. The primer is the same size as those that came in Glamour magazine a while back but still a lovely product, I don’t think the foundation offers a huge amount of coverage (light-medium) but if you use the concealer too it should be enough, I also really like that there are two concealer shades.

All the products in image above other than eye products are by Benefit and as you can see the skin looks healthy, natural (ignore the breakout, blame the Clarasonic!) and with a nice glow.

I really like the idea of these little sets and think they are a great, affordable way to try Benefit. These would make perfect gifts for any girl/woman although it is a shame they don’t cater to darker skins. I don’t think I would every go all out and use all the products together but its nice to be able to use a few.

What do you think of Benefit? Are you tempted by the look of these kits?

I was tempted to buy these kits at first but had to restrain myself as I love Benefit's packaging but am not too keen on their products overall. Already got the Porefessional which I like and some of their blushers so I don't really need those kits. Guess they would make nice gifts though 🙂 x
