ghd Air Blow Dryer & Giveaway

Everyone has heard of GHD, they make the No.1 best selling hair straighteners in the world (pretty impressive!) Aside from their hair straighteners they also make other hair products such as this ghd air blow dryer from the Pink Cherry Blossom.
The ghd air is like no other blow dryer I own (and I have owned a few!) it is a professional and rather pricey blow dryer but it is really nice! I don't know too much about hair dryers so for more information check out here.

This blow dryer comes with two nozzles, a 3m cable and a variety of different settings to fit your needs. If I am honest I am so drawn to it because it is so beautiful (for an electrical at least). As it is from the Pink Cherry Blossom collection it is black and dark pink making it girly but still sleek and stylish. It also blow dries my hair very quickly and leaves it soft and shiny which is exactly what I want. The only downside is that if you are drying your own hair it can get a little heavy but that comes with all/most professional driers.

The other thing which is so special about this ghd air is that it is limited edition and £10 from each sale goes to Breakthrough Breast Cancer so you are donating to charity and investing in good hair when you purchase one of these.
It is beautiful isn't it?! But at £99 a pop it really is a splurge item however GHD would like to give my readers the chance to win one!

All you have to do is leave me a comment below with your email address and/or twitter and also tell me

What hair style you would try to achieve using this blow dryer?

Giveaway closes 8th September 2012 at Midnight (BST)
You must follow my blog (let me know how you follow me below)
You must live in the UK
If you do win I will need your email to pass onto ghd

If you are interested in buying this ghd Limited edition Pink Cherry Blossom Blow Dryer it is available online for £99

Holiday Beauty Hotlist

I have been challenged by VoucherCodes.co.uk most wanted to put together my beauty essentials for a summer holiday for under £70. (Which is much harder than it sounds!)

When planning a holiday away the first beauty item that comes to mind is of course Sun Cream. I love Piz Buin but it can get quite expensive as a cheaper alternative I like the Boots Soltan products and they're often buy one get one free. Chose either SPF 50, 30 or 15 and why not pick up a free after sun too.

Soltan Moisturising Sun Care Spray £5.49 & Soltan Aftersun Hydrating Lotion £4.99 (Currently BOGOF £5.49 for both)

People often forget about protecting their lips but why not pick up a lip balm with SPF. This year I used the Elizabeth Arden Lip Protectant with SPF15 but another one of my favourite lip balms is the Carmex Strawberry tube which also has SPF 15 and retails for just £1.27

I don't usually use Makeup Remover wipes but as I wear less makeup on holiday I don't mind them too much and this they are really handy to carry around. These Simple ones are just £2 which is a great price!

I think makeup should be kept quite simple in the summer especially on holiday- I like dewy skin, eyeliner, lots of mascara and a little colour of the cheek.Surprisingly my favourite bases this summer was The Body Shop All-in-One BB Cream as its dewy, moisturising and offers good coverage. It doesn't have any SPF so I would recommend popping some sun cream underneath for day time. £12

I quite like the Soap & Glory eyeliner as I find it to be lovely and soft as well as super black. At £4 I think its really great and even comes with a sharpener

I always rave about 2000 Calorie Mascara by Max Factor and the waterproof one is the perfect mascara to take on holiday. Its only £4.99 so even if you do accidentally leave it by the pool you won't have lost a high end product.

I don't have too much to say about Batiste dry shampoo its pretty self explanatory. I just love it! £1.45

You always need a super bright nail polish for fingers and toes on holiday and this Models Own Head Candy Polish in Beach Party is my idea of the perfect summer colour. £5

I haven't actually tried these myself but I think picking up a mini shampoo and conditioner to take away is always a good idea as full size ones often weigh a lot. These caught my eye the most as its especially designed for sun exposed hair- let me know if you have tried them! £1.99 each

This might be hard to believe but one of my favourite inexpensive blushers is just £1.99. I think the Natural Collection blushers are great and perfect to take on holiday!

I took some of these little Sanctuary Sachets on holiday my self and I really love them! The products are great and the size makes them really easy to carry but they still have a lot of product in them. £1.75 for Salt Scrub & £2 for Hair treatment

Soap & Glory Products are always a treat to use, this little body wash smells divine for just £2.50!

I know Clinique isn't an inexpensive brand but I am still within budget! I loved using my Clinque sun block on holiday and I think if you are going to splash out on one product it has to be face sun cream. The last thing you want to do is burn your face especially as it will age you the quickest. £16

And simply bevies I have a few pounds to spare going to throw in a bright coloured lip crayon by TopShop in Hendonist £7.

And my grand total is….. £69.42

What would you take on holiday?

Currently On My Nails Eye Candy London

I haven't heard too much about Eye Candy but I always love to try new products so was very excited to get these polishes in the post. I must say these probably aren't the colours I would usually chose but I will try and no let that effect my opinion too much.

I have read that Eye Candy was to be a more affordable nail polish brand that are as good as professional polishes so of course I had to give them a go.
Lets start with the packaging, to me it looks a little cheap. I don't see the need for the paper packaging but the bottle itself is okay.

The first colour I tried was Provocative a barbie pink which they sell as a neon polish although I would just say it a bright pink. Application wasn't quite as good as I had hoped as it was quite sheer needed three coats and took a little while to dry. That said the result was nice, shinny and a really nice colour with no shimmer.

I then tried the Crackin Up polish I don't like crackle nail polish any more and think that glitter one is even worse so clearly this polish isn't my cup of tea. Even if I did like glittery crackle polish this isn't a very good one, with crackle polish I think it has to be quite opaque as you can't apply various coats but sadly this was also quite sheer. This may have worked better over a more contrasting colour but over the pink it looked pretty messy.
Overall I quite like the Provocative colour although a little sheer I would still be interested in trying other colours. However I wouldn't try any of the other crackle polishes as I really didn't like the effect.

Eye Candy London Polishes are available from £5 from Sainsbury's

Currently on My Nails- Gosh Spot On! Pink

A while back I went to the Gosh A/W event and fell in love with many of their products. I think Gosh is a great highstreet brand (although it can be a little over priced) and I am a great fan of their nail polishes. I don't know too much about this polish, I'm not sure if it is out already although I am assuming it is limited edition. I love the colour Spot On! Pink its a mid toned pink leaning slightly on the red side.

This polish was a great to apply; I like brush, it applied really easily as well as quickly. This colour needed just two coats and dried really quickly. As an extra bonus I really like the packaging I think the little stars make it super cute. The only thing that confuses me slightly is that I see this colour as being quite summery and not something I would expect to see in an Autumn/Winter Collection- either way great polish!

Gosh Nail Lacquers are available for £5 from Superdrugs

What colours have you tried from Gosh?

Saving Money with My Voucher Codes

Saving money is essential in my opinion, I'm not suggesting that you should buy products that aren't as good but instead keep an eye out for offers so you can get a good deal.
When it comes to cosmetics I think it is quite hard to buy products on sale as there rarely is a cosmetic sale but there are 3 for 2 offers as well as websites such as My Voucher Codes. Usually I use My Voucher codes for restaurant vouchers and I think it works really well if you eat out a lot in chain restaurants. However they also have great offers, codes and discounts off other places from camera shops to Lingerie items.
If for example you wanted the Chanel Vitalumiere as I did a few weeks ago and you want to buy it online why not keep an eye out on the Debenhams page for money off (such as 10% off) and free delivery.

I really think its a great website wether you are looking for a pizza, eye test or an ASOS discount code I would really recommend keeping an eye on the website.

Share your money saving tips below...
I have a few more money saving tips, would you be interested?

Back In Town

As I am sure you have guessed this pictures are still from my holiday. The funny thing is that whilst on holiday this was a 'bad weather day' but here in the UK its been raining and even thundering over the last few days so clearly the photographed day wasn't really bad weather.

I love the outfit photographed- I'm not claiming it is an amazing outfit but just a very comfortable one. The maxi skirt is from H&M and although you can't completely tell it is sheer, I was unsure if I should have bought it but I am so glad I did. Its my current favourite skirt and would happily wear it almost every day if it was acceptable and warm enough.

The top too is from H&M and I bought it on sale for just £3, I wasn't too keen on the print at first but I think with the right bottoms it really works.
 Shoes NEXT
Glasses H&M (can you tell I'm a H&M fan?!)
Bag Fiorelli
I really hope it gets a little sunnier here in London, although I know its unlikely

What is your favourite items of clothing this summer?

LaaLaa's Skincare- Guest Blogger

Todays Guest blog post comes from a really fabulous blogger that I am sure you will all love! LaaLaa writes the beauty blog Dolce Vanity  where she writes regular and super informative posts. Today she is sharing her Skincare routine which includes largely natural products. Enjoy...
I'm an natural nut. Products that come from natural ingredients are what my skin & body live for and in the last two years I've managed to find so many fresh & natural ways to soothe and treat my skin. Keeping my routine fairly simple and with products that are targeting specific problems for my normal / combination skin so hopefully I can help those who also are of that skin type!
Manuka Doctor · Bee Venom Cleanser
From the apiclear range that's aimed to target troubled skin - that being the breakouts I'm prone too. This foaming cleanser targets blemishes by controlling the toxin build up, dead skin cells and excess sebum. It calms and clears the skin and doesn't leave my skin feeling taut afterwards which is a plus! I use this with my Body Shop Facial Brush to make sure I get a lot of dirt and a good scrubbing. [purchase] LUSH · Tea Tree Toner In high school I lived by The Body Shops "Tea Tree Range" once I entered Adulthood it didn't do much for my skin but since I was introduced to this by a fellow reader / friend - I'm going through bottles. I've had toners before that have felt drying and with the combination of that and a drying cleanser the skin feels like it's being tortured. Once this is sprayed it's cooling and calming and the cotton pad just glides over the skin removing any last traces of dirt. [purchase]
Good Things · Miracle Mattifier Containing Blackcurrent & Goji Berry this product is suitable for vegetarians & vegans like myself. Free from mineral oils, sodium laureth sulphate and parabens it's perfect for my skin. If you suffer from oily skin this is great as it absorbs any excess oil and hydrates your skin. Your left with smooth and matte base and the skin is less prone to breakouts. I've been using this for nearly 2 years and it always ends up back into my routine. [purchase] I treat my skin to an at home facial whenever I feel it's necessary. I know it's been said that you should only do it once a week or a mask however often the company tells us but I think we know our skin best - just don't over do it. Dolce Vanity · At Home! After cleansing I move onto exfoliating my skin. This is where most times I do my homemade recipes such as a Milk & Honey or Honey & Sugar scrub. Honey is great antiseptic product so if you have breakouts honey can soothe that.
1 tsp. of honey
1/2 tsp. of sugar ( I prefer brown but either works )
or
*Choose your dairy* 1 tsp Skim Milk (Oily skin) 1 tsp 2% Milk (Normal or combination) 1 tsp Cream (Dry)
1 tsp honey 1 tbsp ground almonds (optional)

Mix your chosen exfoliator in a bowl and start gently scrubbing your face and rinsing off with warm water. Proceed to steam TIP : Use some of that honey & sugar scrub and with a unused toothbrush, exfoliate your lips too! [image 3] Manuka Doctor · Bee Venom Face Mask Face masks this is the part where we can really relax and let the product do it all for us. There's so many options with face masks, can make our own or purchase but whatever we do decide make sure it's for our skin type and targeting our needs. With mine being spot prone I want something that is going to soothe and balance my skin out while targeting scarring. [purchase] Hope you enjoyed this post & a huge thank you to Sabrina for allowing me to be one of the guest bloggers while she is away.

Currently Loving: La Roche-Posay Hydraphase

If I am completely honest I am still yet to work out if my skin is dry or simple dehydrated but nevertheless I have been really enjoying the La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Mask. I look a little tub of this with me on holiday and used it throughout my holiday as my skin was getting a little dry due to sun exposure.

The intensive masque has been formulated for sensitive skins which may need some extra hydration but can be used on any skin type even oily. I find this to be a great, essential mask in the summer when skin can often feel a little tight. The gel formula of the mask makes it easy to apply but it also is an extremely soothing and calming product that adds moisture back into the skin without overloading it.

I often used this product after sun exposure when my skin was very sensitive and it helped to cool my skin down and keep it looking soft. I think even people with oily skin could benefit from this product although it may not be quite as essential.

Hypraphase Intense Masque by La Roche-Posay will be available from Pharmacies and Larger Boots for £15.

Most Worn Items- Summer Edition | The Video

The initial idea was to show you all of the items I took on holiday with me or at least all of the beauty products but that seemed a little tricky. I am an awful over packer and since I was gone for 3 weeks I basically took everything with me from 4 different foundations, 6 pair of false eyelashes (I only wore 2 pairs) and way too many shoes.

I thought it would be a little easier to simply show you my most worn items with a few clothing items and a few too many beauty products.
There have been so many of these videos around but I couldn't help but join in. I really want to make regular videos (as I always say) so if you have any ideas they would be greatly appreciated.

Click here to see the video on Youtube, there I have more information and links. Don't forget to subscribe to my channel too.

Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash Review

I haven't properly mentioned that I am back from Portugal so I thought I would let you all know that I had a great holiday! I still have some outfits to post from it and some guest posts to go up so keep an eye out.

I took three mascaras on holiday with me this year which may seem/is a little excessive but I thought it was a good chance to try them all out. One of the mascaras was this mini Smoky Lash my Make Up For Ever which I got at a PAM event. I have tried this mascara before at the beginning of the year and didn't quite understand what all the fuss was about but I actually really like it now!
The mascara I have is extra black and claims to add volume, length and curl and with a few little tricks it does just that. I would recommend you make sure you have no old mascara on before applying this one and that you curl and comb your lashes through right from the roots. When applying the mascara make sure you apply it right from the roots and slowly make your way up in order to be sure what you coats every lash, finish with a few strokes through the ends to add a little more length.
(Although this is a mini mascara it is a full size brush)

I found the results to be really nice and it lasts all day with minimal flacking. It gives really great volume but keeps last soft and fluttery.
I bought my original Smoky Lash at IMATS this year and think I might do the same next year. MUFE is quite hard to find in the UK although it is available online and from PAM. It is also available throughout Europe and America so might be worth picking on up on your next holiday.

Available from PAM for £17.75 (Prices may vary elsewhere) and you can order by phone 02087400808

TRIA Hair Removal Laser

Hair removal isn't the most glamorous topic but one I feel is essential to talk about on a Beauty Blog. There are so many different types of hair removal most of which I have tried however I am yet to try laser hair removal even though it claims to be (almost) permanent.

The TRIA hair removal laser is an at home machine which you can use on your legs, bikini line, underarms and most of the rest of your body too. Unlike at home lasers I have seen in the past this one is quite small and compact which I feel makes it slightly less scary.

The Tria is designed to be used on Fair to Medium skin tones with darker hair, it wont work on dark skin tones, grey, blond or red hair.
In order to use the TRIA you have to unlock it, which involves either calling them up or doing it online. I don't mine online and it was really simple, when doing so they check if the TRIA is the right suit for you and also gives you a few tips along the way.

You have 5 different settings to chose from by the end you should be using a high setting although even at the beginning you should be using the highest setting you can tolerate. You are also suppose to use it every two weeks for 6 months for the hairs to stop growing back. Only after two months will you start seeing results and hairs should be lighter as well as finer.
I am yet to try mine but am quite excited I might do a few updates along the way to let you know how I am getting on.

The TRIA Hair removal Laser is available for £349 from online and Space Nk

Have you tried at home laser hair removal, how did you get on?

L'Oreal Color Riche Nail Polish

Over the last few weeks I have really been enjoying using the Loreal Color Riche Polishes especially those from the Miss Candy Collection. I have spoken about these polishes in the past (here, here & here) I like them as the brush is nice and easy to use but the best thing is that they dry quickly.

Frech Riviera- Pale sky blue which appears shimmery in bottle however it doesn't show up on the nail. Really pretty colour for the summer, applies well with a few coats.
Shocking Pink- quite a Barbie true pink- applies opaque within two coats
Sassy Pink- I'm not usually a pink nails kind of person but I love this colour it is a slightly darker pink which I think makes it far easier to wear!
Marie Antoinette- I have to say I really dislike this colour. It reminds me of discoloured nails or a nail colour an old woman would chose which is probably because it applies so sheer however with all that said I have seen swatches and it has looked nice. I think it may just not work with my colouring/ be what I am use to.
Opera Ballerina Pale pink colour, perfect nude colour/french manicure shade
I really love the brush on these polishes and would recommend checking the shade range out, there are some real gems hidden

Each 5ml Bottle retails for £4.99

Products Hannah Can't live without

Hello! I'm Hannah and I blog over at little_wood, so you can get to know me a little I thought I'd share my products I can't live without. These are the beauty products I have repurchased time and time again, the real staples of my collection that I use on a daily basis and simply, can't live without!
My favourite part of the day is coming home and taking my make-up off, I love the feeling of having a clean, fresh face after washing the days dirt away. My must have skincare essentials come from the ever popular Liz Earle range. I love the thick, creamy consistency of the Cleanse & Polish hot cloth cleanser and how is effortlessly removes all my make-up, leaving my skin soft, smooth and comfortable. I always follow this up by spritzing my face with the Instant Boost Skin Tonic which helps to refresh and calm my skin ready for moisturising. Then for my favourite product, the Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser, for me this is the stand out product in the range. I find this moisturiser works so well for my skin, its a lovely high hydration cream but feels so light on the skin, sinking in quickly and leaving no sticky residue. As well as hydrate, this moisturiser balances and smooths and the rich natural fatty acids found in the borage and avocado oils nourish and help to repair the skin. Since using this skincare routine my skin has never looked and felt better, I will continue to trust Liz Earle to look after my skin for a very long time.

When It comes to make-up I love to buy and try new products but there are a few products in my collection that are definite non movers. A foundation I have used for the last couple of year is the BareMinerals original mineral powder. I was dubious at first to try mineral foundation as I expected the powder consistency to looking dry and cakey on my skin, however it was love at first try! Once buffed into the skin the powder creates a flawless natural looking canvass that doesn't look like a powder.  The reason I love this foundation so much is because of its versatility, each application gives a slightly higher coverage meaning you can customise the amount of coverage you need that day, its great for light coverage in summer, high in winter or on nights out and somewhere in between for everyday.
Having olivey toned skin I find a peach toned blush suits me best, my favourite has got to be MAC's Melba. The colour is defiantly peach but has the right amount of pink undertones to stop it being "orange" It's a lovely light consistency powder than can be layered on for more colour and looks great with a tan for the summer months.

Dry lips are my pet hate and without my Lush Lip scrub my lip products never look perfect. Every morning I use this oil and sugar scrub to buff away dry flakey skin leaving a smooth canvass for my lipstick. It's a simple concept but it works a treat! This one is the Bubblegum flavour lip scrub, neon pink and tastes yummy!

I have used Bourjois Volume clubbing mascara since I probably started wearing mascara. Not everyone is a fan of its extreme outcome but if you love thick voluminous lashes like me then this mascara ticks all the boxes. At first glance wand looks like any old thick mascara brush but on closer inspection the wand has flat sides allowing you to really scoop on the product then brush through with the bristles. The formula is great, tested by clubbers its stands the test of heat, humidity and sweat to stay put all day long, no panda eyes here! The best thing about this mascara is unlike some other smudge proof competitors, it comes off easily with a normal non oily make up remover, hurrah!

Huge thank you to Hannah for a great post, some of the products she spoke about happen to also be my favourites! Don't forget to follow her blog here

Lace Shorts OOTD

I picked up these pretty shorts from Matlan just before coming on holiday after seeing various other bloggers outfits with similar ones. They were £20 which I thought was a little expensive for Matalan and they aren't the best made shorts ever but since I will probably decide i don't like them next week I thought I would go for it.
I wore them on a rather chilly day here in Portugal so I teamed them with a sheer blouse which I think is also quite pretty and can be seen here. The shoes are just sandals from New Look which are quite practical as they are largely nude and gold meaning that in my world they go with almost everything.

I will hopefully get some more outfit posts up soon if anyone is interested but as I am on holiday I have been quite enjoying casual clothes, shorts & a tank top are perfect throw on clothes in my opinion.

Also follow me on Instagram as I will be uploading more holiday snaps- @a_littleobsessed
