Is Your Life as Perfect as your Facebook Makes Out?

If you haven't realised I am not only A Little Obsessed with Beauty but also Social Media. I have everything that is out there and this week I set up something new! Pencourage is a new platform which lets you post anonymously (& I know a lot of my readers love to do that!) which at first I didn't think sounded like something I would personally use until I logged on!

You can create an account here and have a little look around the site, it is actually quite inspiring! I'm the sort of person that logs into Twitter, types out a tweet and then hits the delete button as I know there are somethings I shouldn't say but on Pencourage there is no need to hold back! You can share all your feeling and thoughts entirely anonymously. You can use it simply as a diary or for somewhere you share your deeper feelings. You can talk about your own life or even current affairs with the rest of the world but they will never know it is you.

They sum it up as
'‘One day we hope your life is as wonderful as you pretend it is on facebook’
& I know personally my life is far from as perfect as my Facebook Friends think it is! Actually people assume lots of things that aren't true from my Facebook!

What do you think of the concept? What will you be writing about on yours?

Have a look if you can find my Pencourage!

Rock Beauty Rock Book Gift Set

I think nail wraps and nail art is really fun especially over the festive season so when I saw the Rock Beauty Rock Book Gift Set I feel in love as I think it would make a great present! There are three different types of books; this is the nail one but there are also eye tattoos and body rocks. The Nail book contains the Tribal Gold, Jade Quail and White Spots on Red wraps which are actually some of my favourite!
At just £9.99 is far more affordable then what nail wraps usually are since you get three sets. They would make a great present, stocking filler or event Secret Santa Gift! I can't wait to try the Tribal Gold ones!

Keep an eye out for your chance to win one of these soon!

L'Occitane Marvellous Flowers Gift Set- Christmas Gift Guide

L'Occitane has had great Christmas Gift Sets for a while now and this Christmas is no different! The Marvellous Flower Gift Set caught my eye first this year (amongst a few others which I may talk about in a few days) it's pretty and pink without being too girly or childish. Instead it is the perfect present for any age! Inside you receive a Shower Gel, Fragranced soap, Hand cream and EDT which all comes packaged in a very pretty and luxurious looking box.
The scent is quite floral but still not overly girly, the full size perfume is the selling point of this box for me but I also love the hand cream and the shower gel and fragranced soap are a really lovely extra! The packaging of each product is simply beautiful and I am sure anyone of any age would love to open this box Christmas day.
This gift set is currently £39.00 and really would make any woman in your life very happy!

I have a few more L'Occitane gift sets to share in future posts, keep an eye out!

What interesting Christmas gifts have you bought so far?

Christmas Offer: Champneys

I'm really trying to start my Christmas shopping and one of my favourite things is the offers at Boots. This week Boots are offering this Champney's Complete Home Spa for £24 instead of £50 which is a fabulous offer! The box is quite big and looks like an expensive present (well at £50 it is!) it contains a combination of products with a variety of scents which all come in a drawstring bag within the box. It is available for just £24 until 29th December 2012.

It contains Citrus Blush Body Scrub (200g), Citrus Blush Body Lotion (200ml), Skin Comforting Shower Cream (200ml), Skin Comforting Body Butter (175ml), Body Polisher and the Drawstring bag. All the sizes are so very generous (I think full size) and would make a great present for anyone who want to recreate a spa experience at home. Perfect for your mum, sister or friend. It's been on offer since Friday so make sure you get your hands on it before it sells out and goes up to £50!  Also check out Electrical offers here  and fragrance offers to.

Have you started your christmas shopping?

Everyday Makeup November

To say I like routine is a little bit of an understatement and when I find something that works for me I tend to stick to it! Recently I have been wearing pretty much the same makeup over and over swapping only the eyeshadow or the false lashes depending on the occasion.
Please excuse the funny pictures (and no comments about how I look like an idiot with a duck face, it's the look I am going for!)

Face:  Monu Recovery Balm, Avon Ideal Flawless foundation, Collection 2000 Concealer, MAC Prep&Prime powder, Sleek Makeup Contour kit,

Eyes: Urban Decay Smoked Palette (shades Freestyle, Kinky, Barlust and Backdoor), Urban Decay Primer Potion,  Eyelure Lashes in The Chelsea Look (part of 65th Birthday range), Clinique High Impact Extreme Mascara, L'oreal Carbon Gloss

Lips: MAC Patisserie lipstick

Fake Tan: Laurens Way
Most of the things I used are real stables that I would struggle to live without! I do however switch the mascara up as I don't love this one and am looking for a good waterproof eyeliner. The newer addition to my routine are the false lashes and the smoked palette (Review here) but have quickly become essential!

In other news, you may have realised I haven't been blogging quite as much simply because I have been so busy with university, events and have been going out more and spending less time at home. But I have lots of fun posts planned such as Christmas Giveaways, Gift Guides and I am booking myself a spa day with the vouchers which Ladbrokes have provided me with! The idea behind it is that Ladbrokes new game so exhilarating you'll need a spa treatment afterwards, I'm not actually the betting type but I am the spa type! I'm also in Newcastle for the next few days, so I would love some ideas on what to do whilst here and I may do a post or two about it

Hope you're having a great weekend!

Currently on My Nails: Nails Inc Baker Street

Admitidly this is an iPhone photo but it has captured the colour of this nail polish just as well as my camera would, so I am going with it.

Yesterday, I attended the Nail Inc Blogger event where they were showcasing different new nail polishes from Jean to feather effect and with the opportunity to get your nails done. Since I say yes to everything I had my nails painted and went for Baker Street, I didn't want the normal red or nude shade nor did I want something too bright and summery so I felt this colour was the perfect middle. Although I own lots of Nails Inc polishes I think this is one that I don't own but I think I may just buy it! Its a true, bright cobalt blue, applied beautifully after just one coat!

I now can't stop looking at my nails and I even heard its a favourite with Beyonce!

What do you think of this very blue polish? Is blue a colour you tend to stay away from?

Liz Earle 24 Days of Christmas

With less than 40 days until Christmas and 2 weeks until the beginning of December I thought it would be the perfect day to start talking about all the exciting Christmas products I'm excited about. Advent calendars have really been catching my eye this Christmas and as I am huge Liz Earle fan I think this one is amazing!
Usually when I look for an advent calendar it's usually in Sainsbury's and only pay a couple of pounds so admittedly this is a little bit pricey but it is a really lovely treat! As much as I love chocolate opening the door to a beauty product everyday excites me a little more and I doubt I'll forget to open it as I sometimes to with the chocolate ones.

This calendar is made up of lots of samples sized Liz Earle products to get you through every day of December right until Christmas! Inside is some of my favourite ever Liz Earle products as well as some I am yet to find. It's perfect for those who love Liz Earle or those who want to discover Liz Earle.
If you are looking for a luxury advent calendar the 24 Days of Christmas Calendar really is perfect, it costs £100 and is available in Liz Earle stores and counters.

What would be your dream advent Calendar or are you happy with chocolate?

My Nail Care Routine

Although I paint my nails very regularly my nails probably lack a little TLC but I've recently been trying a little harder and have found some great products in the process!
My favourite new find has to be the Cuticle Miracle Kit by Butter London; it comes with a Melt Away Cuticle Eliminator and Handbag Holiday Cuticle Oil. I've tried a few cuticle removers in the past but this is by far the best, just apply a light layer over the cuticle, wait a few minutes and it will all (as the name suggests) melt away. Once my nails are nice and clean I apply a little Cuticle oil and leave it to rest before applying nail polish.

As a base coat and top coat I have been using the No7 So Smooth and the Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat. I don't think the So Smooth Base coat is anything too revolutionary but it is quite inexpensive with a No7 Voucher however I love the Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat. If like me you often smudge your nails as you are simply too impatient to wait for them to dry this product will change your life (or at least your nail painting experience) it dry nails quickly, it leaves  them very shiny and makes nail polish last days.  I've also been trying the Retain nail hardener by Seche Vite which I really like but I have naturally strong nails so I don't see a huge difference and don't use it religiously.

I regularly use a nail buffer but am not too fussed about which one it is as I get through them quite quickly, I do like the Leighton Denny Glass nail file though as it shapes nails quickly and doesn't leave any rigid edges like some cheaper files do.
After my nails are painted I apply Leighton Denny Touch & Go Cuticle oil as well as carrying a good hand cream!

Another one of my favourite finds has to be the Leighton Denny As Good as New. It is unlike anything I have seen and a must have for any nail polish lover! It can be very annoying when you are coming to the bottom of a nail polish and it is gloopy especially as it is always my favourite nail colours however add a few drops of this and roll your nail polish to give your nail polish a new lease of life! My No7 Base Coat was getting a little thick and with just a drop it is perfect!

Butter London Cuticle Miracle Kit is available from Amazon*, No7 So Smooth, Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat*, Leighton Denny Crystal nail file*,  Leighton Denny Touch & Go Cuticle rescue*, Leighton Denny As Good as New*, Retain Nail Hardener Seche Vite*

Which products make up your Nail care routine? Have you tried any of these?

Urban Decay Smoked

The Smoked palette had caught my eye last time I was in Debenhams, I was glad to see a palette with 10 beautiful eyeshadows ranging from Matte Colours to Shimmery shades. I love that Urban Decay have moved away from the very Glittery and bright colours in the this palette and instead have delivered 10 wearbale colours perfect for autumn/winter or simply for a night out!
The palette comes with all the essentials; an all over lid colour, a highlight, some brown shades, a matte black and some wearable greens and blues. All the colours are smooth and very pigmented as you would expect from Urban Decay although the matte lighter shades are a little less impressive than the darker shimmery shades. This has been my most used palette this Autumn as the colours are just perfect for this time of year!

The packaging is a black case with a zip which although is a little bulkier than the Naked palette is really nice to travel with as you know it won't open.
The palette also comes with a 24/7 Eyeliner which has made it into my handbag and that I use everyday, a mini primer potion which I will use as soon as I finish my Nars eye primer and a little book with how-to guides and ideas.
Overall I really love this palette and would highly recommend it, it's a autumn staple!

This Smoked Palette is available for £35 from Debenhams. If you are looking for a great Christmas present this might be a good idea, I would be very happy with this!

What is your favourite Urban Decay product?

Brighton Pier

Yesterday my friend and I decided to take a trip down to Brighton. I had actually never been but since it isn't too far from London we jumped in my car and off we went. In reality it took almost three hours as I live in North London and getting through the traffic in Central London really slowed us down!
When we arrived we got lunch in Bill's which was very delicious and fulling. I actually really like the chocolate desert at Bill's but after sharing a Garlic Bread and having a Bill's Burger each we were very full and set off to explore the lanes. We didn't buy much just some christmas tree ornaments and I got a Cath Kidston Christmas Craft book (let me know if you are interested!)
I then remember the Biba and beyond Exhibition was still on at the Brighton Museum & Art Gallery. If I am honest I didn't know too much about the iconic 60's brand but I learnt so much from the Exhibition and I would really recommend it. It had videos, clothes, photos and even makeup! If you study/love fashion I would highly recommend it, I didn't get a chance to look around the rest of the Museum but I would of liked to.
We then went to the Pier, of course it was freezing but the lights made it look so very pretty!
Wearing: Hat, Jumper & Jeans- Primark, Jacket- Oasis, Bag- Zara
And some Starbuck Toffee Nut Lattes in the Christmas Cups for the road...

I would really recommend Brighton as a day trip and am already hoping to go back, I had such great fun and got to explore somewhere I had never been! If you are from London it is only a couple of hours drive, just over an hour from Croydon but a little longer from North London.

I would love some recommendations of things to see/do in London as well as other cities to visit! I am going to Newcastle this month too so I'd love somethings to do there.

Sienna X Spray Tan @ The W

I love fake tan but standing almost naked in front of someone whilst you get a spray tan can be very, very daunting but the results are often far better than those you can achieve at home. For a special occasion spray tans are essential and make such a nice treat/pick-me-up.
My favourite place to get a spray tan has to be at the Away spa in the W hotel, London. As you can guess it isn't the cheapest spray tan ever so it isn't somewhere most people can afford to go every week but if you have an extra special party coming up or maybe even a honeymoon and are looking for the perfect tan than it is the best place to go!

James Harknett is the spray tan man and is also Sienna X's official spray tanner he tans lots of amazing celebrities and you may have seen him on your TV screen recently. James is based at the W Hotel which is a really amazing spa (a favourite with celebrities) and a really lovely place to go!
Unlike other places which may offer cheaper spray tan's you can really tell just how knowledgable James is! He'll look at your current skin colour, discuss the occasion and what sort of look you are going for before deciding on the perfect Sienna X colour. Unlike other spas/salons the room is nice and big, you are provided with (the ever so sexy!) disposable knickers, a hair net as well as wipes to remove makeup and any deodorant you may have on. Although this may not seem like a big deal I really like the lighting in the room, I have previously got a spray tan in bright white lighting which I found very scary. Here however the lighting is perfect, not too bright so every single last imperfection can be seen but bright enough so that you can see the tan and make sure it is perfect. You are then dried so you can put your clothes back on.
Although the price is a little premium you are completely given a premium service which doesn't compare to any other spray tan's I have had (I've had spray tan from a few companies head spray tanner.) I also love that Sienna X is used as it could, possibly be my favourite fake tan brand (this is a big statement and one I need to think about a little further so stay tuned for a top fake tan post) the spray tan lasted almost a week and came off quite evenly. I'd really recommend a Sienna X spray tan as the colour is really natural even in the darker shades and if you can afford it a Sienna X Spray Tan at the W  really is the best I've had!

I will be doing a review on a large portion of the Sienna X range soon!
