Regent Street 24/7

One of my most common questions I get has to be where is the best place to shop in London and the answer probably is Regent Street. Surrounded by other great shopping roads it is the home to one of the best Zara and H&M in London as well as Apple, Anthropologie, Burberry (not that it's in my price range, but nice for a browse), Michael Kors and the ever so popular & Other Stories (which I still haven't been to!) Really it a bit of a dream, I would happily spend hours there!
Regent Street also has a new Regent Street Hub which is the 24/7 homepage for all us social media lovers to share our love of shopping! It's super easy to use, just sign up and if you use all their hashtags and app you will also be featured on the 24/7 page.

I am already planning a trip to Regent street as I simply must check out & Other Storied- have you visited it yet?

Book Review: Cupcakes & Cashmere

Recently I've been loving lifestyle blog, I just love that I get fashion, beauty, food and more all in one place (which may be why you have recently seen random posts on ALO about food, hotels and books). My favourite has to be Cupcakes and Cashmere- Emily just gets it so right so I was very excited to receive her book for my 21st birthday.
On opening the front cover you can tell straight away from the index how well thought out the book really is. You have four main sections; Spring, Autumn, Fall and winter and each section has a sub-topic of style, beauty, at home and food. What more could a girl want?
The book is quite similar to Emily's blog but as it is such a fabulous blog that isn't a bad thing and although none of the information is ground breaking I do still think it is quite inspiring. As I am assuming most of my readers are beauty lovers I am sure you will all be impressed by Emily's stables and Splurge vs Save products. The book will teach you how to paint your nails, shop at a flea market, get organised and so much more.
Overall a really good book; would make a perfect present and is perfect for the tea table. I can't wait to reference it throughout the whole year and it may even inspire a few blog posts.

Manicure Monday Kiko Mint Green

I've been a bit of a bad blogger recently- in short I am in the final few months of my final year and uni which means I have lots of work to do!
Over the last few days I have been wearing this Kiko nail polish, I haven't tried many Kiko products but I have a few which I will be sharing over the next few weeks. Overall I don't think my initial opinion has changed too much but more about that another day...

Although the weather in the UK has been shockingly horrible, I mean snow in spring- really?! I went for this rather springy colour Mint Green (422). I love mint polishes as it's a colour that works well for me every day, I find it to be nice and fun without clashing too much with my wardrobe. I love this particular shade of mint as it is slightly darker than most that I own. It applied quite well too although I wouldn't say it was anything special. It needed two coats but was slightly streaky still and although I love the colour I don't think I would buy another of their  nail polishes.
Have you tried a Kiko Polish? Do you like mint green nails?

Eucerin Even Brighter - Update

As I previously mentioned my mother has just started trying the Eucerin Even Brighter range. She is the most sceptical person I know and getting her to change from something that she knows work is a challenge!
That is why I was very surprised when she told me how much she was enjoying the range and asked if it was expensive as the results were that good. I explained that the range is very reasonably priced and she said she would be buying the range for all her sisters.

The main reason I recommended it to my mum is because it claims to reduce hyper pigmentation, although that isn't the change she has noticed after 2 weeks. Instead she feels her skin is more hydrated and overall much more radiant. I will share some before and after pictures at a later date but I must admit I am so tempted to start trying it too as my skin is so dry at the moment!

My mums skin is looking much healthier with the addition of the day and night cream to her routine and it seems to be so great that I think I simply must try it too!

Will share pictures soon

Patty & Bun

Sadly I really like burgers and after two weeks of eating healthy I had a major cheat meal! The world and his wife seem to be talking about Patty & Bun wether it's online or offline, it has become the must-go to place in London. After checking out Burger and Lobster (which I thought I reviewed but didn't) I decided it was time to check out Patty & Bun. I headed down there will Laura and Alice and faced about a 30minute queue on a Friday at 12.30.
The restaurant itself is pretty small but they do offer a take away service which I'd assume is quicker. We all got Ari Gold cheese burgers (I got mine with bacon) and skin on fries, the fries come with rosemary and salt- I actually don't love rosemary so that wasn't a great start.
Now onto the burger, after all that the most important part! The meat itself is very juicy and comes with pickled onions, american cheese, lettuce and in my case crispy bacon. I promise I had simply unwrapped the burger in the picture below but it was quite messy and for me it was too much of a sloppy burger.
I have heard great things about the chicken wings but didn't try any myself. I would say the burger and chips are quite a large meal by themselves.

Patty & Bun has become a very 'trendy' place to eat meaning it is always very busy and has a long queue outside so I would recommend avoiding peak times and instead go for a late lunch.

If you love sloppy burgers this is the place to go but if like me you prefer a slightly neater burger this may not be for you.

I've got quite a few requests for food reviews (as well as other lifestyle type posts) so I hope you enjoy this one!

Where is your favourite place to enjoy a burger?

ghd Candy Collection

Although I've been a beauty blogger/addict for many years now, one of the cult products I have never owned is a pair of ghd straighteners. I do use my ghd blow dyer on a daily basis and despite it being a little heavy (maybe that's why I have more defined biceps now days) I do love it and it has never failed me but I'm new to the straightener.

I was invited down to the ghd studios at their head office to talk about their new candy collection stylers, talk 2013 hair trends and eat sweets- how could I say no! Ghd is launching three new candy colour shades of stylers; mint, yellow and violet which we tried out at the event.
We were talked through three main hair trends; new grunge glamour, hello pretty and 60's prom queen. Hello pretty goes with the current pastel trend we are seeing in fashion, pretty french braids, whimsical lilac hair and romantic fish tail plaits. New Grunge Glamour is laid back, care free hair- I think it evolved a little from ombre hair and I love it, although I do feel it works better on long hair. Probably my favourite is 60's prom queen simply because I like big hair, it's super chic and looks very smart!
Although the stylers are traditionally used to achieve straight, sleek hair I think we often forget that they can be used to add volume, curls and a litre texture as shown in the looks above. For the braid, first the grunge look was done on the hair as it made it easier to hold the braid in place. The 60's prom look was done with some root work using the straighter before teasing, I've tried this and it actually works!
I was then lucky enough to take one of the new stylers home and I am so excited to share it with you in a future post. Hopefully I will share some hair looks with you all soon!

The candy collection is available now and retails for £110

Can you guess what colour I got; mint, yellow or violet? Do you own a pair of ghd's?

Manicure Monday: Model's Own Blueberry Muffin

I thought I had two Model's Own nail polishes to share today but I actually forgot to photograph the other one so I will only be sharing Blueberry Muffin. Model's own will be releasing a neon collection and a scented collection soon, as you can tell by the colour this is part of the scented collection which they have named Fruit Pastel Collection
Its a really pretty pastel blue colour which applied well with just two coats. I actually love the colour and would pretty much be happy to wear this everyday! It has a light blueberry scent which you can smell only if your hands are close to your face and which does fade after a day or so. It does still have the generic nail polish smell however it fades once dry to be replaced with a far more pleasant blueberry scent.
Follow me on Instagram (a_littleobsessed) to see more pictures of the Models own nail polishes!

I have a feeling this will be one of my favourites over the next few months!

What do you think of this colour? Do you like the idea of scented nail polishes or is it too 90's?

Eucerin Even Brighter

Me and my mother were recently discussing skin problems, for her it's dark spots which are often quite ageing. As I am only 21 I feel my blog doesn't often cover anything for slightly older women so I am excited for my mum to be sharing her experience with Eucerin Even Brighter over the next few weeks. Aimed at dark spots and hyper-pigmentation it is suppose to even out skin tone but also enhance radiance in just 4 weeks which is the time it takes for skin to regenerate.

I think we'll end up both trying this one out and I am excited to share something a little different with you.

Eucerin Even Brighter Day Cream - £23.50
Eucerin Even Brighter Night Cream - £23.50
Eucerin Even Brighter Spot Corrector - £14.50

Do you suffer from dark spots? What is your skin care problem?
