Butter London Blues: Manicure Monday

Towards the end of last year I began to fall in love with Butter London Nail polishes. The packaging is beautiful, the colours are great and the quality is excellent. They only require two coats and dry super shiny but still last quite well. I have an absolute love for blue nails so was very excited to try Giddy Kipper and Petrol.

In the bottle Giddy Kipper appears to have quite a lot of silver shimmer however once applied it is barely noticeable and makes it look incredibly shinny. It is a stunning indigo shade that not only will suit all skin tones but can also be worn all year round, no matter the season.

I wasn’t quite as excited about Petrol, although the colour look unique and interesting I don’t usually like any sort of shimmer. I also didn’t realise that this is in fact an ‘overcoat’. I applied it on top of Giddy Kipper and was surprised to find I actually lived it and would wear it during the winter months. It is suppose to look like petrol and therefore has an array of blues, purples, silver and turquoise. As it is an ‘overcoat’ it isn’t particularly opaque but work beautifully over other polishes.

What is your favourite blue nail polish?

Fab colours. I'm not really a huge fan of blue and I think my only blue polish is OPI Can't find my Czechbook…it's a good one though ๐Ÿ™‚

I much prefer Giddy Kipper out of the two, i've never used any Butter London polishes before and come to think of it I don't think I own a Blue shade that I actually like in any brand. I've seen a Navy shade by Essie (I think) that I really like but I can't remember the name.

I love the first shade! It is so pretty. Isn't it cool how Whole Foods are selling Butter London polishes?! I thought it was a bit of a shocker!
Anyway the finish looks amazing too!

I tend to like cream formulas much more than metallic/shimmer ones but Petrol is actually pretty interesting. Your nails are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing these polishes.

Such beautiful shades. My favourite blue would probably be baker street by nails inc. (How predictable)

These colours are gorgeous! I tried my first Butter London polish before Christmas in the shade The Black Knight, and it was amazing but I found it chipped ridiculously quick!

I saw your photo of Giddy Kipper on Instagram(?) earlier and marvelled in how beautiful a shade that is but Petrol is equally wonderful. Butter London are one of my all time favourite nail polish brands and they have such a ridiculously huge array of different shades.
