SPF For the Face

Recently I have been making an effort to wear more SPF and after forgetting it on Sunday and now having a much darker forehead I will be wearing it daily. I always try to use a separate SPF on face than on my body as the skin on the face is thinner and more sensitive. Therefore I look for something that won’t be too heavy, too greasy, that blends well and often that will work under my makeup. I always wear SPF30 on my face which is about double of what I would wear on my body because I am frankly scared of ageing.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Sun Defense for Face SPF 50 PA+++,
If your face is particularly sensitive to the sun than I would recommend going for some like this. At first I was a little worried as it is fairly thick but once you blend it in you will be left with no white cast, it isn’t greasy but still keeps skin moisturised which is what you need in the drying sun.

Kiko City Filter SPF 50 £12.90
This is designed as a primer to go under make-up so it is very light-weight. I also love the pump it come in, it blends easily and you can’t feel it on the skin at all. It’s a great affordable SPF!

Radical Skin Perfecting Screen SPF 30
It’s a little pricey but by far my favourite of the bunch, the packaging is really sophisticated (I tried to look for another word but that’s honestly what I think of it) and it offers non-chemical UV break Spectrum protection. Most importantly for me it is almost as light as water, absorbs instantly leaving no visible marks behind- completely worth the price tag!

La Roche-Posay Anthelios AC SPF 30 £15.50
I’m halfway through this bottle and I think it’s a nice product although as it is matte it isn’t really designed for my skin type. It’s perfect if you have particularly oily skin and are looking for something very matte, sadly can be a little chalky on my drier skin.

Clinique SPF 30 Face Cream

This has been my go-to over the last couple of years, the protection is a little higher than Cliniques other product city block, making this particularly good for taking on holiday. I do have quite dry skin so I love that this is slightly heavier and more hydrating but not greasy.

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration SPF 30 £15
If you’re looking for something you can buy in Boots and Superdrugs (On offer usually) than this is a nice one to go for although I wouldn’t say it is my favourite. It smells like summer, no white cast left but is a little heavier on the skin.

Supergoop Lip Balm SPF 30

I thought I would quickly slip this in here too, I know a lot of people love Supergoop suncream but I personally really like the lip balm. It’s so easy to forget to look after your lips in the sun but this product really is great, the tube means you don’t need to mess about with sticking your fingers in and risking getting sand in there too. Its the perfect consistency; thick enough to be hydrating and protective without having to spend too much time blending it in so that it is comfortable. The shea butter means it’s very hydrating and it also smells incredible.

I really like The Body Shop Vitamin E sunscreen, but it has only SPF 15.. So I guess it's better for winter time 🙂

I really need to start wearing a daily SPF, but my issue is that I dislike any from the drugstore. I really hope there is an affordable facial SPF available at high street prices.

Even though SPF is important, I always tend to forget it x
