Spring Fragrances: New In

Yardley: Jade £19.99 for 30ml
Like a lot of people I associate Yardley with a slightly older market but it seems they are trying to break away from that a little. Jade is a fresh and elegant scent which still has a slight retro vibe. It’s fruity with notes of peach, bergamot and fruity scents such as rose and jasmine all teamed with patchouli and sandalwood. I also love the elegant yet modern bottle and the affordable price tag.

Salvatore Ferragamo: Signorina £51 for 50ml
If I’m honest I didn’t expect too much for this perfume but I was so wrong to have prejudged it. For starters the bottle is beautiful and pretty without any form of tackiness. Although it is the most expensive out of my collection I would argue it is the most special and my favourite. Its a very romantic scent with notes of Panacotta, Red Currant, Rose and Peony.

Thierry Mugler: Angel Eau Sucree £42 for 50ml
Everyone knows and loves/d the original Thierry Mugler Angel perfume which was actually created in 1992, the year I was born! I personally am not a huge fan on the packaging although it does conserve the perfume inside, even if we can’t see how much is left. It has hints of the original but it’s been made even better, it maintains the Cherry, Vanilla and mint notes but has increased the Cherry note and added other sweet scents.

Clinique: Happy in Bloom £26.50 for 50ml
This limited edition scent is a fruity floral scent with hints of plum, Mimosa, white wood and amber. It’s quite a light scent so perfect for a spring/summer day.

The Body Shop: English Dawn White Gardenia,  for 50ml
Another fairly light and affordable scent perfect for everyday wear. It has notes of Gardenia, Bergamot, Tuberose and sandal wood with hints of citrus. It’s not really like anything I personally own and I actually really like it.

Versace: Bright Crystal Absolu, £45 for 50ml
Can we say Tack-y. This bottle is not for me (and I like the Juicy Couture bottles) the lid is far too pink, too large and too in-ya-face. This is usually my type of perfume as it’s very sweet and fruity with notes of Pomegranate, Raspberries, Peony but with added citrus and musky notes too. That said to me it smells of disinfectant/alcohol wipes which is probably why I haven’t fallen in love but I’ll keep trying it.

DKNY: Summer Women Limited Edition 2014, £20 for 100ml
Another impractical bottle; difficult to store in a drawer or cupboard due to how tall it is but it does mean it stands out and is memorable. This is my perfect summer scent; light and fruity with notes of Grapefruit, Pear and Water Lily. It summer in a bottle and I can’t wait to wear it on holiday!
