5 things to do whilst on holiday

1. Visit some of the street markets
Theres something about street markets I can’t resist, they’re filled with locals and usually local produce too. Obviously be careful to not get targeted with high prices as your a tourist and remember that in most places you can haggle.

2. Get lost
Okay please don’t actually get lost. But stop following the map and your GPs so carefully and instead take the off road and just trust your instincts every now and then. I have found the most beautiful views by doing this, admittedly I have also ended up on some scary roads but that’ part of the fun!

3. Try something new
This means something different to everyone but what I mean is be a little more open. Try the food, even if it’s a little unusual , get on a scary ride and if the opportunity comes up why not go skydiving?! I mean I wouldn’t but if you’re brave enough a holiday is the perfect time to do it.

4. Ask the locals
Its obvious that the locals now the area really well, they now what’s good and what isn’t plus they don’t usually do the touristy things. I always think it’s a good idea to ask your cab driver or waiter for a few little tips, places to visit, things to see, restaurants to eat at and even for the best place to enjoy the night life.

5. Have a lie in…
It’s tempting to spend your holiday exploring everything there is to explore in this new part of the world but this usually means getting up early. Have a lie in every now and then but don’t feel guilty, we all get up very early for work and school when we’re back home so a holiday is the perfect excuse to sleep past 10am, maybe even past 11am!

Whenever I go on holiday, I always spend my first day wondering around to get to know the place. Usually that way you see more unusual things and explore more!
