Festive Body Butters From The Body Shop

The Body shop festive scents are
some of my favourite; Glazed Apple, Vanilla Brulee and Frosted Cranberry but
it makes me even happier to know that The Body Shop sources the ingredients
carefully. They support their suppliers, source their product globally and
really help make a difference in people’s lives.

One of my personal favourites is The
Body Shop Body Butters. In the winter my skin gets very dry and I find The Body
Shop body butters to really help hydrate my skin and keep it moisturised all
day long.
The most important ingredient for
the body butters is the shea butter, which is Fair Trade and sources in
northern Ghana where it has been used for centuries to protect the skin from
the harsh Saharan winds. Local Women hand-harvest the shea nuts, which are then
dried in the sun and cracked open in order to extract the kernels. These are
later roasted and ground into a paste that creates the butter.
Souring it here means The Body
Shop can provide 528 women with a fair wage as well as paying a premium for the
women to invest in the community projects. They
have been working there since 1994 after they visited Ghana and discovered the
moisturising properties of shea butter.
The Body Shop is famous for their
range in beautifully scented body butters and the scent of the festive ones
this year are particularly special in my opinion. They are added using seed
oil, which are carefully sourced and also have essential hydrating properties.
The Glazed Apple body butter and
range contains Alpine Apple seed oil from the well-established orchards in the
Italian Alps. The green apples there are known for their hydrating benefits to
the skin meaning the range not only smells incredible but really helps fight
dry skin in the winter. They also add cranberry seed oil to their Cranberry
range, which is back this year by popular demand. The Christmassy collection
contains seed oil from cranberries sourced in Canada.  The Vanilla Brulee collection contains Vanilla
seed oil from the Save region in Madagascar and which The Body Shop add to
their products to give a sweet and indulgent fragrance.
This holiday season The Body Shop has teamed up with War Child to
continue their commitment to education and to help children affected by conflict
in need of a better education. With every Christmas Gift bought The Body Shop will
a contribution to War Child to help fund a class for a child.
The whole Christmas range and body butter from The Body Shop are available from The Body Shop online and in-store

I love the sound of the apple scented one. I may have to go and treat myself to it after Christmas.
