Drugstore Favourite Brands

This morning whilst browsing in Boots and picking up a few foundations I noticed that there are brands I trust more than others for certain products and I thought I would share which they are. I know some people are a little scared of drugstore products as there often is anyone to help you chose the best product and there are so many brands it can often be overwhelming.

I try to stay clear of the very inexpensive brands when it comes to foundation and my go-to has to be L’Oreal, I think is just as good as most of my highend foundations and I have high hopes for too (picked it up today so will get back to you soon). Other great options are the (although do be careful as my skin is particularly sensitive to these) and Revlon Colorstay if you are looking for good coverage. To set my foundation I almost always use if I want one with a little colour.

Although it seems every blogger loves the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer I find it to be far too drying my go-to are , and although I have also been loving the Barry M Instant Light Concealer which is great if you don’t need too heavy coverage.

I would be lying if I said I regularly reach for drugstore eyeshadows, it’s not that I think they’re bad it’s just that I love my highend palettes. If I had to pick I do use my Makeup Revolution palette every now and then, the and I’ve heard great things about the L’Oreal La Palette Nude although I have never tried it myself.

I haven’t strayed from Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara for a while but before I became so loyal I loved all of the , if it’s volume that you want than I find that they always deliver and would always be my best drugstore bet.

In terms of lipliner and eyeliner are my fail safes, super inexpensive, great colour range and just work exactly as I want them too. Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in Eastend Snob is one of my all time favourites. I haven’t yet found a liquid/gel liner that I love (I’m struggling in general with these) but I’d love some recommendations if you have any.

I think Bourjois do the best blushers and bronzers with their being an absolute must have for everyday.

There are so many great lipsticks in the the drugstore; L’Oreal do some beautiful reds, I regularly reach for my but Revlon and Bourjois also have great ranges.

The one place I always save on has to be nails, I rarely buy highend nail polishes, instead opting for; Barry M, Rimmel and Models Own, the quality is great and the colour range is extensive.

There are some real gems to be found in the drugstore, hopefully this will help you with your journey if you are someone that feels a little overwhelmed/untrusting of drugstore. Every brand has a few good products it’s just knowing which ones they are, if you have any further questions regarding Drugstore makeup head on over to my Facebook Page where I am happy to help

I agree with you in every little thing you said 🙂 I'm also fan of these products.

I really like the loreal super slim liner and the maybelline drama gel liner! Have you tried these two?

Another great post my dear. You reminded me that I need to buy the BTS mascara – been meaning to for a while. I love the Healthy Balance foundation but found the concealer irritated my eyes. Will try the maybelline one though. Genuinely interesting and helpful – thanks for sharing x

l'oreal has stepped up their game in the drugstore market lately, i really need to get my hands on that foundation, i always hear great things about it. as for drugstore prices, colourpop really can't be beat as far as budget brands go.

I love the rimmel wake me up concealer, it looks invisible and so natural on the skin but sadly I can only wear it in the summer! I'm so pale it's ridiculous! My friend has been using the infallible foundation for a while now and she said that its a really good dupe for MAC studio sculpt!

I am such a big fan of Rimmel nail polishes, especially the Salon Pro with Lycra range (currently wearing one now!). I've been looking for a new drugstore foundation to try, will be picking up the L'Oreal one next time so thank you!

I love the finish of Bourjois foundations but like you, my skin is really sensitive to them. Maybe it's the fragrance in them? GOSH Xtreme Liquid Gel Eyeliners are the best liquid liners I have ever used. They are really pigmented, last all day but are still easy to remove with barely any effort needed. The Plum, Bronze and Gunmetal shades are gorgeous.

I love so many of the brands you've mentioned. There are so many hidden gems in Boots and Superdrug! Have you tried Seventeen's Stay Time Concealer? I swear by it!

Just yesterday I was in Boots and I purchased a Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipstick! I saw that as a little gem, because I just stumbled across it. Another product I love from the drugstore is the L'Oreal Super Liner Ultra Precision. I have used that for years and have never gone off it. But I am definitely guilty of favouring high-end make-up.

I agree, drugstore can be a bit overwhelming! I use Bourjois Healthy Balance powder and foundation and I love it! It's a very good product with a good price and coverage. And also Rimmel have never let me down with their products!

Drugstores have some true gems in the products they stock. You just need to be prepared to hunt around and try different things. I like Maybelline, Max factor and Barry M.

I'm not a big fan of the Collection concealer either – works well on blemishes but much prefer the Maybelline one for under eyes 🙂 Healthy Balance is my everyday powder too – great picks! xx

This palette looks absolutely stunning, love the rose shades! I'm currently loving the infallible foundation, although it's not 100& my shade! I love the collection concealer! It's the first drugstore one that actually suits my pale skin! 🙂 xx

Bourjois Healthy mix is my favorite foundation cause it looks nice on skin but don't feel like you have foundation on face but Infallible is really close to it (I am still trying it out). I am so in love with Too faced Better than sex mascara and I can't find any drugstore but I will check out those from Max factor

I actually like to mix the L'Oreal Infallable and Revlon's ColorStay to perfect the formula a bit better. I love the coverage of Infallable, and plan on doing a demo on my blog soon!
