5 Beauty Products Every Busy Woman Needs

I wasn’t sure if I was going to call this blog post 5 Beauty Products Every Busy Girl Needs or Every Lazy Girl Needs but it works for both.

Whether you have a few minutes to get ready to leave the house because you slept too much or because you’ve already been working all morning below are the product I have been loving when I need a quick beauty routine.

1.It Cosmetics CC Cream (HERE)

This is everything I have ever wanted in a foundation but never managed to get. It offers good coverage but doesn’t look heavy on the skin and the Colour Correcting quality means it really reduces time concealing the skin. If I’m in a rush I apply this quickly with my fingers and need only a little concealer and powder on top to get my desired look. It also has SPF 50+ so I don’t even bother applying another suncream (unless I’m going to be outdoors for a prolonged period) and if your skin isn’t too dry I think you might even be able to skip moisturiser some days as it’s hydrating without being oily too. I’ve had this for about three weeks now and haven’t used anything else. I can’t recommend this product enough and I’m very excited that It Cosmetics is now available on Selfridges.com and will be available in store at the end of the month!

2. Soap & Glory Spritz Me Quick (HERE)

Moisturising my body is one of my all-time least favourite tasks. Bodies are so long and there is so much area to cover.

However, my skin has been so dry since I’ve been away and not moisturising at least my limbs hasn’t really been an option. Before this arrived I’d spend ages trying to rub in butters and creams but this has made the whole process far more enjoyable. It has a spritz pump which sprays out a light mist which is easy to rub in, smells amazing and is very hydrating. I’ve never really fallen in love with the Soap & Glory body creams as the process has always been a little long for me but with this one you can apply it any which way (and the pump still works), rub in, get dressed and go. It also has the Original Pink scent which so many people love from S&G which does actually linger as my boyfriend told me I smelt nice walking down the street when all I was wearing was this.

3. Benefit Gimme Brow (HERE)

An oldie but a goodie.

Okay, not that old and in fairly new packaging but such a goodie! Also, not photographed as it seems to have done a runner and needs to be replaced asap.

If I’m in a rush I always reach for this product, for me, it’s all I need. It adds a bit of volume where I’m a little sparse as it contains tiny microfibres, it adds a little bit of tint and holds my brows in place. I use this almost every day (when it isn’t lost), if I’m not in a rush I’ll team it with Benefit Good Proof Eyebrow Pencil but even if I don’t have time for that this adds the perfect amount of definition.

4. Vo5 Dry Backcomb Spray

On days that I’m strapped for time, my hair suffers most. If I’ve only had time do add a little dry shampoo and not give my hair a proper wash then my hair gets extremely flat. My most recent discovery is the VO5 Dry Backcomb Spray, there are other great once but a lot of the other ones I have tried are quite pricey (Oribe texturing spray- great but £££). It adds a nice amount of volume and texture to the hair but isn’t too sticky or heavy so doesn’t weigh down my hair even more. It’s also great if you want nice, voluminous, beauty waves!

PS. This seems to be sold out online, I think it’s coming back but in a slightly larger bottle.

5. Neutrogena Visibly Clear In Shower Mask (HERE)

I have been doing a slightly better job of using masks this year but I don’t always have 10-15 minutes to wait around for a mask to dry and I always worry getting a knock at the doorbell and having to answer with a green face.

That’s why I was really drawn to this in-shower mask but I was initially a little worried as I have combination skin and this mask is supposed to help mattify skin. That said the refining pore element really appealed to me so I gave it a go. It’s a bit of an exfoliator and mask in one which only requires 60 seconds and it leaves my skin feeling exfoliated and healthy without stripping it.

What are your favourite quick-to-use makeup products?

I love the VO5 backcombing spray, so useful for giving texture to more complicated styles and great on lazy days too. I will have to try the soap and glory spray moisturiser because I hate moisturising too, it’s so time consuming! xx

I like the sound of the in-shower mask – might have to give that one a try. I’ve also got combination skin, and find a lot of masks don’t really do anything!
One of my daily products is Nivea Sensitive Micellar Water, it’s so gentle but really deep cleans!
