I wasn’t sure if I was going to call this blog post 5 Beauty Products Every Busy Girl Needs or Every Lazy Girl Needs but it works for both.

Whether you have a few minutes to get ready to leave the house because you slept too much or because you’ve already been working all morning below are the product I have been loving when I need a quick beauty routine.

1.It Cosmetics CC Cream (HERE)

This is everything I have ever wanted in a foundation but never managed to get. It offers good coverage but doesn’t look heavy on the skin and the Colour Correcting quality means it really reduces time concealing the skin. If I’m in a rush I apply this quickly with my fingers and need only a little concealer and powder on top to get my desired look. It also has SPF 50+ so I don’t even bother applying another suncream (unless I’m going to be outdoors for a prolonged period) and if your skin isn’t too dry I think you might even be able to skip moisturiser some days as it’s hydrating without being oily too. I’ve had this for about three weeks now and haven’t used anything else. I can’t recommend this product enough and I’m very excited that It Cosmetics is now available on Selfridges.com and will be available in store at the end of the month!

2. Soap & Glory Spritz Me Quick (HERE)

Moisturising my body is one of my all-time least favourite tasks. Bodies are so long and there is so much area to cover.

However, my skin has been so dry since I’ve been away and not moisturising at least my limbs hasn’t really been an option. Before this arrived I’d spend ages trying to rub in butters and creams but this has made the whole process far more enjoyable. It has a spritz pump which sprays out a light mist which is easy to rub in, smells amazing and is very hydrating. I’ve never really fallen in love with the Soap & Glory body creams as the process has always been a little long for me but with this one you can apply it any which way (and the pump still works), rub in, get dressed and go. It also has the Original Pink scent which so many people love from S&G which does actually linger as my boyfriend told me I smelt nice walking down the street when all I was wearing was this.

3. Benefit Gimme Brow (HERE)

An oldie but a goodie.

Okay, not that old and in fairly new packaging but such a goodie! Also, not photographed as it seems to have done a runner and needs to be replaced asap.

If I’m in a rush I always reach for this product, for me, it’s all I need. It adds a bit of volume where I’m a little sparse as it contains tiny microfibres, it adds a little bit of tint and holds my brows in place. I use this almost every day (when it isn’t lost), if I’m not in a rush I’ll team it with Benefit Good Proof Eyebrow Pencil but even if I don’t have time for that this adds the perfect amount of definition.

4. Vo5 Dry Backcomb Spray

On days that I’m strapped for time, my hair suffers most. If I’ve only had time do add a little dry shampoo and not give my hair a proper wash then my hair gets extremely flat. My most recent discovery is the VO5 Dry Backcomb Spray, there are other great once but a lot of the other ones I have tried are quite pricey (Oribe texturing spray- great but £££). It adds a nice amount of volume and texture to the hair but isn’t too sticky or heavy so doesn’t weigh down my hair even more. It’s also great if you want nice, voluminous, beauty waves!

PS. This seems to be sold out online, I think it’s coming back but in a slightly larger bottle.

5. Neutrogena Visibly Clear In Shower Mask (HERE)

I have been doing a slightly better job of using masks this year but I don’t always have 10-15 minutes to wait around for a mask to dry and I always worry getting a knock at the doorbell and having to answer with a green face.

That’s why I was really drawn to this in-shower mask but I was initially a little worried as I have combination skin and this mask is supposed to help mattify skin. That said the refining pore element really appealed to me so I gave it a go. It’s a bit of an exfoliator and mask in one which only requires 60 seconds and it leaves my skin feeling exfoliated and healthy without stripping it.

What are your favourite quick-to-use makeup products?

bowling 2 bowling 3 bowling 1 all star calamari all star lanes food all star lanes all star meatballs

Although the bf and I go out for dinner all the time I don’t think we really do enough other date night (probably my fault) so this weekend we went bowling, just the two of us and it was such good fun!

I’ll admit that I never win him at anything that required physical activity other than at a golf driving range and he totally taught me everything I know. I’m not the best loser so luckily he also helped me through bowling and I think I got my first spare and strike in the last ten years!

We went to All Star Bowling Lanes which I’ve actually been to before and it’s by far the best bowling alley I’ve ever been to! It’s not too big and I would recommend booking but it’s got a real luxurious feel to it.

After our two games of bowling (and yes I lost both) we, of course, had to have dinner, because what is date night with no food? The menu is very American-inspired, with all the burgers, hot dogs and nachos you would expect. We shared a Popcorn Squid, which is probably the best squid I’ve ever had as I love crispy food and I went for the Meatball Hoagie off the specials menu, Mike got a burger and we shared some chips. Actually, we ended up sharing our whole meal, since sharing is caring and he really wanted to try the meatballs.

The meatballs were so good and I’d highly recommend them (I did remove the cheese on my half as I try not to eat dairy) but they are limited edition so you’ll have to get in there this month to try them for yourself. Oh, also get the Gin and Elderflower Julep Jar, such a good cocktail!

Would highly recommend All Stars for a date night or just hanging out with friends and there are four London locations and one in Manchester but check out their website for more info.

What should we do for our next date night? I was thinking some sort of exhibition, please leave recommendations in the comments

Snapchat is quickly becoming one of my favourite social media platforms, I love how instant it is and that they only last 24 hours. I catch up on Snapchat everyday before bed and view them as mini unedited YouTube videos so I thought I would share my five favourites…

Desi Perkins (Username: desiperkins) One of my all time favourite Snapchatters, Desi’s makeup always looks incredible but what makes her Snapchat is her relationship with fellow Snapchatter Lusterlux- they’re both very funny and it’s nice to see it from both sides!

Laura (Username: buynowbloglater) Laura is still probably my favourite ever YouTuber despite having stopped making videos many years ago but I think her Snapchat really helps fill the void. It’s a mixture of her outfit, makeup and her life in Dubai.

Lily Pebbles (Username: lilypebbles ) I was speaking to a few of my friends who all agree that Lily Pebbles is currently their favourite too especially as she uploads so regularly. Lily’s Snapchat is like her weekly vlogs except more chatty, therefore more personal and you really feel like your living her day with her. Most excitingly of all Lily has mentioned she will being going Snapmas, like vlogmas but on Snapchat, combining two of my favourite things- I’m already excited for December!

Victoria  (Username: inthefrow ) Victoria posts a great variety of fashion, beauty and her incredible travels. Although all her snaps are amazing I have never had such travel envy, a few weeks ago she was in the Maldives (/heaven) which looked like absolute paradise!

Sarah Ashcroft  (Username: sarah_ashcroft ) I don’t follow too many fashion bloggers on Snapchat but Sarah is my favourite, it’s great to put a personality to the Instagram photos and join her at events/shoots.

Also of course, I’m going to plug myself here too, join me on Snapchat, username: alittleobsessed, I’m off to Spain tomorrow for two days and would love to bring you along…

Who are your favourite Snapchatters?

I’ve been struggling a little with blog post ideas this week so I thought that I would share with you some of the products I have been loving over the last couple of days. I love these sort of posts as they’re a nice way to talk about a range of products that I’ve really been loving.

Last week I met with two of the Murad girls, I think sometimes I need to feel someones love and passion for a brand before I too can get into it, especially with a brand that’s more science than luxury. I’ve used items from Murad before but their AHA/BHA Cleanser scared me a little as it sounds quite intense but after hearing the girls talk about it I literally got home removed all my makeup and used this. It’s a little different to most other cleansers I love, it’s an exfoliating cleanser with Jojoba beads, Salicylic Acid, Lactic Acid and Glycolic Acid so it’s definitely not one to be used to remove eye makeup and instead more of a second cleanse. Since my first use I have been using this every 2/3 days and really fallen it love, it really helps get rid of that dull look my skin gets every so often and leaves it smoother and healthier looking. I’ve also tried using this as a quick face mask and left it on for a couple of minutes, it’s not really what it’s recommended for but works beautifully at waking up the skin. I would say that it may not work for people with sensitive skin but I’ve fallen in love with it quite quickly.

I had a beautiful pale pink gel polish applied about ten days ago but last night I really had the urge to paint them a darker more autumnal colour. I’ve never painted over gels but it worked surprisingly well! I didn’t want the normal burgundy wine autumn shade and therefore was automatically drawn to this Soigne shade in Mysterieuse. I love khaki nails as an alternative to more traditional autumn shades and this one in particular is just perfect as it has a hint of grey.

The Sisley So Intense Eyeliner is one of the most expensive eyeliners I own and I know that it isn’t for anyone but it’s by far the best liner I have tried in years. This is one of the first time Sisley has made liners but they’ve done it so well! It’s a super intense black felt tip, with a sturdy nip and packaging too. Although I think there isn’t often a huge difference between liners there are some awful ones and some great ones with this being the best of the best. It’s easy to apply and lasts all day without any movement which is exactly what I want. If you’re a Tom Ford Eyeliner lover I would highly recommend swapping over to this one as it really outshines the Tom Ford Eye Defining Pen.

Another recent discover is black toothpaste, Curaprox makes Black is White toothpaste designed to whiten the teeth which is black in colour. Admittedly it is very strange to brush your teeth with a black paste and almost looks like coal but I’ve actually been really enjoying it. It came with a great toothbrush which has it’s own little lid which I love and I’ve actually found my teeth to be a little whiter, not anything drastic but I haven’t been using it for very long but I will update in a few weeks time.

My current favourite fragrance which was also in my September favourites  is the Jimmy Choo Illicit Fragrance, I’m awful at describing scents but I think it’s a floral/sweet scent which I find really comforting for Autumn/Winter. If you’re looking for a new fragrance than I would recommend checking this one out, I’ve hardly been wearing anything else!

I had a better picture of all the products in this post but sadly it got deleted and I’ve also finished and binned some of the items so I had to make to with the photos I could find.

I pack the Charles Worthington Sunshine Protector Shampoo & Conditioner as it was just the perfect size and really enjoyed using it. I do think it’s helped keep my hair in a good condition even if I have been in the sun quite a lot and I think the packaging is good fun too.

One of the products I was most looking forward to trying was the Institut Esthederm Sun Oil for Normal to Strong Sun, I was really expecting to love this and I imagined having a really beautiful tan once I had finished this but it was just the same as any other oil I had used previously. This is quite a premium product at £42.50 but I don’t think I prefer it to my more affordable Piz Buin, it a nice product but really quite expensive.

Before coming away I was sent a whole range of suncare products from Hawaiian Tropics but some weren’t even considered as they were either too low in SPF (can’t believe they make SPF under 10) or had shimmer which really does scare me. Luckily I packed the Hawaiian Tropics Dry Oil Clear Spray SPF 30  as I absolutely loved it! It offers broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection and is alcohol-free, it has the traditional Hawaiian Tropics Coconut Scent which I neither love nor hate. It is really quick and easy to apply which is why I think it’s so great, I hate sitting on the beach and having to rub cream (and usually sand) into my skin but as this applies clear it isn’t really necessary. As it is so quick and easy to apply I tend to be quite liberal with the application and this didn’t last quite as long as I would have liked but I also didn’t get burnt which is the most important.

Another brand I was excited to try was Lancaster after hearing every blogger rave about it, I have been trying out Lancaster Sun Beauty SPF 15 and Lancaster Tan Maximizer Instant After Sun. I really like the Sun Beauty SPF, it’s not really anything new but I like the spray pump and it doesn’t leave my skin sticky or anything like that, I also found it to be quite water resistant and even when I didn’t reapply religiously it lasted well. The Tan Maximizer was really easy to apply and was almost like water, that said I wouldn’t have used it on an area that had been over exposed to sun but it’s a great every day one, particularly if you hate creaming like I do.
