When the new season rolls around it’s always tricky to know which trends will add the most value to your wardrobe so I’ve teamed up with Debenhams to share our favourite womenswear trends for the new season.

1. Red
Red is the colour of the season; it’s everywhere and such an easy way to update your wardrobe!
I personally love a vibrant red but if that’s too bright for you then opt for a deeper crimson colour. I haven’t bought it yet but I definitely have my eye on this beautiful Hobbs red coat, which although is a little pricier is a beautiful investment coat which will effortlessly add a sophisticate pop of red to any outfit!

2. Embroidery
Another fabulous trend if embroidery, you can go for something a little more subtle or for heavily embellished dresses. For an everyday look go for a embroidered jumper but I personally love an embroidered dress which will take you straight through to party season.

3. Florals
You may think that florals are just for spring and summer but they’re just as popular for this autumn and winter. I love a dark-base floral with a bold print, especially on a wrap dress which you could even wear in the warmer months or an embroidery floral print dress which would tick off two trends.

Alternatively, another great option is to incorporate florals into your lingerie. Debenhams have some beautiful lace sets with bright statement prints adding a little bit of luxury to every outfit.

My top pick, which will add a bit of floral and a bit of embroidery to your wardrobe, is this beautiful Nine By Savannah Miller dress– you could even team it with a red long coat! I love the navy colour of this dress, the beautiful detailed embroidery and I’m sure I’ll get lots of wear out of it all the way through to party season. It’s also looks like a designer dress but only costs £65!

What trends have you added to your wardrobe this season?

I’m not sure I’ve ever dedicated a whole blog post to a candle but I’m in love!

A few weeks back the Crabtree & Evelyn Wanderlust Candle came though my door and if I’m honest, I wasn’t expecting to be blown away. It’s part of C&E Modern British Home Collection which is made up of candles and diffusers designed to transform different parts of the house and create different moods which really attracted and encouraged me to burn the candle.

The Wanderlust Candle is designed for the bedroom, it fills the room with just enough scent without being overpowering but actually lingers lightly for days. It’s a sophisticated mixture of feminine florals and woody masculine notes. I personally really love the pink pepper and cedar wood but there are also notes of powdery violet, geranium, cinnamon leaf and iris.

It’s a mid-high price point at £42 but the vessel it comes in is luxurious yet understated. It’s the first candle I’ve tried designed specifically for the bedroom and it’s just perfect. I’ve even spotted the defuser which I’m considering buying as I’m yet to find the perfect bedroom diffuser.

Very excited to have found this beauty and I’m even more excited that it’s candle burning season. What are you favourite candles?

So it’s officially autumn.

I still haven’t decided if I’m super excited or incredibly sad.

Sure I love cosy evenings, lighting candles and drinking tea, but do I love it more than the summer sunshine and tanned skin? Probably not.

One thing I have been enjoying so far is the wardrobe switch over and adding new staples to my wardrobe. Here’s my current Wishlist

The Perfect Boot I don’t know where to find it, if I’m honest I’m not even too sure I know what I’m looking for but I know I want them to be black with small heel and of course, comfortable. I want to be able to wear them with jeans and dress and probably be leather rather than suede, since it’ll probably rain all autumn and winter in London

A teddy coat They jut look so comfortable, cosy and relaxed! I also love that they’re typically a lighter colour which I don’t really have in coats and I think it would be a great addition to my wardrobe.

Fur Coat I’ve always wanted a great (Faux- of course) fur coat and although I have a nice leopard print one I want one I can really dress both up and down. I keep spotting one pop up on the high street but they sell out really quickly so I think I really need to commit and buy the next nice one I can get my hands on.

Red Blazer Red is the colour of the season and blazers are the must-have items of the season so naturally I need a red blazer.

Slogan T-shirt I’m quite late to the slogan tee trend but now that I have a few blazers I really want to make them look a little more casual and think a slogan tee is just the perfect way. There are some great affordable ones on the high-street but they sell out so quickly that I’m usually just a little too late.

Perfect layering necklaces I love accessories, especially jewellery and even more so gold jewellery. I’m keeping my outfits quite minimalist at the moment, nothing too bright or fussy but really love that look teamed with a few gold necklaces. I’ve got my eye on a few Missoma pieces but they’re so popular at the moment that I fear I’ll be bored of it in a few weeks.

Mid Wash Jeans I’m so bored of black jeans and the jeans I wore throughout summer are a tiny bit too light so I’m after a great pair of highwaisted mid-wash jeans. ASOS Farleighs are the one I am after but apparently so is everyone else as they’re always sold out!

Turtle Neck I think it’s finally the year I do turtle necks. I’m no overly comfortable in them but there so chic that I really think it’s time I get comfortable in them, Primark have some great ones in but I’m looking for one I can keep for the next ten years as they’re so timeless so I’m happy to invest a little more in one.

What’s on your autumn Wishlist?

The weather in London has suddenly gotten a lot colder, it was -1 this morning, far colder than I’d like and far colder than my skin would like. The change of season and the cold always send my skin into a mini panic but I have been replying on three products to get me through.

For days when I want something that will remove my makeup and not irritate my skin further, I have been relying on Olay 2-in-1 Hydration Balancing and Purifying Cleansing Refreshing Facewash. It’s not the fanciest, most luxurious cleanser but it’s a great one to have on hand for days when you need a no-fuss cleanser that won’t dry out the skin. I love the smell of this cleanser, it’s weirdly comforting and it’s the perfect affordable cleanser for any of you double cleansers.

Totally different end of the price spectrum but I have been using the Le Metier de Beaute Ultimate Hydrator. Quick disclaimer, it is expensive. I was sent this and there is no way I could afford this product but it is good and I have been using it every single day for the last three weeks. It’s a great booster over moisturiser to ensure skin is well hydrated, I’ve been using it morning and night and am starting to see a real improvement.

But my saving grace has truly been the Trilogy Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil, it’s one of my all time favourite oils and it always saves the day (or my skin). I’ve been reaching for it both morning and night, I’m more generous with it in the evening and use it sparingly during the day but my skin seems to love it and nothing hydrates my skin more. If you’re struggling with dry/dehydrate skin than I can’t recommend this oil more, it really helps keep my skin balanced and affordable.

What are your favourite autumn/winter skincare additions?

It’s no secret that I have fallen in love with MAC lipsticks now more than ever and my collection is ever growing. I recently picked up seven new shades ranging from a bright red to darkest plums and nudes. I picked up some from Debenhams and others from Fragrance Direct which is a great place to look for a slightly discounted price.

I’d love to know what your favourite MAC shade is in the comment as I have bought most of the ones I was originally after and need to add some more to the wish list.
