rome wimbLast week before heading to Rome I decided that I didn’t want a big handbag that I had to lug around with me all day whilst sight seeing and eating ice cream. I had a online for handbags which I could wear cross  body and which were also light-weight and pretty. I spotted this Dorothy Perkins one on the House of Fraser website and fell in love with it as it can also be worn as a clutch.

My boyfriend was a bit of a star in Rome and offered to carry my DSLR camera in his rucksack so I just had to pack a few more of my essentials.

In terms of beauty I kept it minimal, a Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder to obviously powder my face but which also has a great size mirror, to go with that I packed my Real Techniques Setting Brush- it’s my favourite! Just incase my eyeliner did decide to melt off (it was warmmm!) I packed my Sisley So Intense Liner and my Burberry Full Kisses lipstick in Rose Apricot for post pizza application.

With that there are a few essentials; a phone charger and european adapter, my vlogging camera for quick videos and my favourite La Moda Sunglasses. When trying to keep my bag light I also swap out my big chunky purse for a smaller coin purse, this one actually lives inside my larger purse so is really convenient. In my purse I kept the basics; ID, money and my bank card.

I’m so glad I kept it light for Rome as we walked so much! I can’t wait to share more Rome posts over the coming month so keep an eye out!

It’s hard to believe since it rained to heavily (and was so cold) the whole of yesterday but we actually had some lovely weather here in London on the weekend. I had a few new bits which I was looking forward to wearing and felt that the nice weather would be a great reason to do so.

I’ve been trying to get myself out of jeans and was browsing the internet for some shift dresses that I could wear with tights when I came across this pinafore which caught my attention. The fact that it’s black appealed to me instantly, I like the length of the skirt, especially as it’s getting a little colder and I have nothing like this in my wardrobe. It’s the perfect dress to take you from summer to autumn (which starts tomorrow!) and I’m looking forward to playing around and layering it over jumpers when the weather gets a little colder.

This time I put it over this very pretty and easy to wear Zara T-shirt, it’s nothing too fancy but I think that the pattern is almost lace like and makes it more versatile.

My shoes were also a recent purchase which you may have seen in my recent Primark Haul (link here), I love Primark heels as I find them very comfortable and of course quite inexpensive too. I love these as I’m really into both lace-up and pointy heels- and these are both! I wore this for quite a while this day and they were no different to my previous Primark heels, very comfy but also really pretty- and all for £14! Along with the shoes, my jacket is also Primark (£25)- it’s a great colour, inexpensive and perfect for this type of in-between weather.

My Parfois bag was a holiday purchase and although I usually sling if over my shoulder I instead opted to tuck in the handle and wear it as an oversized clutch. These Quay glasses also pretty much haven’t left my face for the past few months and I’m sad that the summer sun is disappearing away and sooner or later these will have to put away too…

When it comes to doing my hair I always start with by giving my hair a quick wash and blow dry. Although I don’t tend to be too picky about shampoo, I have to use some sort of volume spray and start by drying it upside down. I’ve recently been using the Babyliss Diamond Radiance Blow Dryer as it has three heat and power settings which I think is an essential for an at home blow dry!

I’ve also been giving the Babyliss Curl Secret a go, after looking at it for a while I’ve finally had a chance to try it and it’s completely unlike anything I have ever tried. If you don’t know how the Curl Secret works you slide a section of hair into the tool, press the sides together and the hair will then get sucked in (it’s not painful!) and beeps when the hair is ready to be realised.

I thought it was going to be a little difficult to use but it is actually the easiest tool I have ever used to achieve curls. The curls you get are quite tight and I don’t feel that you have quite as much control as a tong or wand but it’s so easy to use that I simply don’t find myself reaching for anything else. It’s great if like me, you always burn yourself with a tong and it makes curling the back of your hair particularly easy in comparison. It also has a few different heat and time settings to help you get the curl you want but I still don’t think I’ve mastered it.

A great alternative to a hair tong especially for beginners or someone looking to get perfect curls quickly and easily. It is quite expensive but no more than you would pay for highend straighteners so worth looking into if you curl your hair regularly.

I’m sure I’ll be using it over the weekend

Currently on my wishlist are a handful of
beauty products with a few other things here and there, they are largely luxury
products which I would love to receive for Christmas!

I have been lusting over the Tom Ford lipsticks every since they were released,
they are super luxurious and the colours are stunning- with Christmas around
the corner they’re even more on my mind as I would love to see one under the
Christmas tree!

Although I really don’t need a new perfume
there have been two on my wishlist recently; the Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire
and the Cult Classic Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir. They are both a little pricier
but very luxurious and fabulous scents for the party season! They are also both
available from House of Fraser
meaning you will be able to collect Nectar points if you shop online!
The Bobbi Brown Warm Eye Palette comes in
one of the most beautiful case’s that I’ve ever seen for eyeshadow. You also
get nine stunning, wearable, bronzes, gold and deeps browns. Although it’s a
little more expensive than some of the popular palettes, it would still be my
pick of the palettes released this autumn/winter.
I fell in love with the colour of this
Colbat Blue Dune Clutch, it’s great for adding a pop of colour and looks
expensive even though it’s actually quite affordable!
Just like everyone else, I have been after
a new diary for 2015 and although I love my Moleskin Diary I am getting a
little bored. Paperchase have the most perfect ones at the moment. They are all
affordable and fun but also look like they would last quite a while.
Finally how cute is this Ted Baker dog in his crown?!

Let me know in the comments what is
currently on your wishlist.

Since I haven’t shared my non-beauty favourites on here I thought I would take the change in weather to share a few items of clothing which I have been loving, a long with a fairly random favourite which has been influenced by just how close Christmas is now. Don’t forget to let me know what your non-beauty favourites…
