As so many of you seem to love finding out what’s in my monthly BirchBox today I bring to you Aprils Box which is ‘Good Enough to Eat’ which is inspired by food markets and eateries so everything has either an amazing scent or some sort of food element (so it says on the website)

The first thing I noticed was the ‘lifestyle extra’ which was the Propercorn in Sweet Coconut and Vanilla which I’m excited to try and is a nice extra. There are also some Yes To Cucumbers Facial Wipes, although I don’t use wipes daily or even weekly they can come in handy and I’ll be saving these for any plane trips or outings where wipes will come in handy. I haven’t tried them but they smell amazing and very refreshing, perfect for the warmer months. I’m not too sure how these relate to food but there is also a Color Club nail polish and Lord & Berry eye Pencil. I am not a huge fan of the Nail polish as the colour is very shimmery and not really my cup of tea. Although the liner is small I know its a great one as I’ve used it in the past. The box also features a The Balm Cosmetics Cheek & lip tint which is super cute but if I am honest I am not too sure I would use very often. I was most excited about the Laura Mercier Body Souffle which is quite an expensive product that I’ve wanted to try for a while.

As I was only disappointed with one product (the nail polish colour which wasn’t my shade) I would say this box was actually quite a successful one.

I am very excited to share that BirchBox will kindly be offering my readers the chance to gift their friends a FREE box with the code
when you purchase this months April box for yourself.
Offer ends 30th April and friend will not receive this months box but one next months after the offer has ended. It would even make a fabulous Easter present, even if your friend will have to wait a few weeks.

Last month I mentioned the Birchbox were collaborating with iconic British brand Lulu Guinness. The wait it over, the box is here to help you start the new season and it’s a beautiful box at that!

I was really excited to see what a collaborations with the huge fashion designers would mean and was very happy to see the box’s make over, probably my favourite beauty box design ever! Once I opened it I saw that they are offering a £20 off code when you spend over £100 at Lulu Guinness and it has the usual menu as well.

Inside it also came with the cutest little magazine that houses Lulu Guinness interview and tips which I will be keeping safe.

Inside the box itself are some really great brands that I love and trust! The first thing that caught my eye was the Benefit Stay Don’t stay eye primer, which is a great little sample and I believe a new product. I also am very excited to use the Korres Body Milk which smells amazing as does the No7 perfume which although is small I really like the packaging of. There is also a generous size of Dr. Brandt Porerefiner which is quite an expensive product but I had never tried before. Lastly the Aroma Works Nurture Body oil which adds the perfect final touch of luxury to the box. As an added lifestyle extra there is also a Lulu Guinness Candy Rock for all you sweets lovers!

Overall a fabulous box and I can’t wait to try everything out and read through the Lulu Guinness Life Lessons added extra. This box is beautiful and filled with great little extras!

If you are subscribing to Birchbox and Lulu Guinness March collaboration use the code
for an exclusive trio of three gifts. Code expires at the end of the month.

I haven’t blogged about a beauty box in a little while although I will say I have been reasonably impressed with them recently. This month I got sent the February Birchbox which is the ‘We love your style edition’ as London Fashion Week starts Friday. I haven’t received a Birchbox in a little while so it was quite nice to see what they are offering especially as I was a little worried it was going to be very lifestyle based.

The box hasn’t changed too much and I actually really like it; quite small but they have the perfect balance of thickness as although it is very sturdy I don’t feel like I have to keep it and find something to store it in. Inside I found five beauty products and a mini Green & Blacks for all you dark chocolate lovers which is an improvement on tea bags.

Opening the drawstring bag I naturally gravitated to the Leighton Denny nail polish as it is a full size, reasonably expensive brand and a great colour which I am sure I will wear lots. I also spotted the Eyeko Skinny liner which although is a smaller size is a perfect eyeliner to keep in your bag and I have been using the full size for a while. There is also a Gilchrist & Soames Shower Gel which I don’t know too much about but I will be saving for the next time I travel as it is a good generous amount. There is also a sample size of the Beauty Protector Protect & oil which I am also sure I will use at some point. Lastly another brand I haven’t heard of Urban Veda but it’s a generous size of facial scrub.

It also came with this cute little cards with great quotes, beauty tips and a sneaky hint about next months collaboration, which is super exciting!

Overall I think it’s a good box although I am yet to work out how it is LFW related other than being called ‘We Love your Style’ and the cute cards. I think they’re are some great products in this months box that could easily be added to any beauty addicts daily routine.

I don’t usually go out on a Monday but I was treated to a fabulous dinner with some other bloggers by Birchbox yesterday! They invited us to a secret location which turned out to Chotto matte, a Japanese inspired restaurant which recently opened. The food and drink kept coming all night and I simply couldn’t help myself it was all very tasty!

To add to the already fabulous night we were gifted the best Birchbox I’ve ever seen. It was a bespoke Muji-esque case with our blog names inscribed. Inside were Katia’s (who is the Birchbox founder) beauty picks; an Aromatherapy Associates Revive Body Gel, Model Co Party Proof Lipsrick, OPI Avoplex Cuticle Oil, Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle, a Twistband plus a very cute mini Bioderma. I can’t wait to dive into it and try everything out and very excitingly one of my lucky readers will also have the chance to win a bespoke beauty case which is inscribed along with a six month subscription!

To enter simply follow me on Twitter (I will check) and tweet ‘Win a personalised  & 6 month subscription with

Giveaway is open until midnight 15th October 2013. UK only. Winner will be picked at random.

Good Luck!

What products would you put in a Birchbox if it were your beauty picks?

As I am sure many of you know BirchBox has now acquired Jolie Box, BirchBox, for those of you that don’t know was the first beauty box and it launched in the US. I am personally quite excited for Birchbox to enter the UK market, they have a huge team in the US and I think they have a slightly different outlook. I met the team at the press junket a while back I feel they ail be doing some re-branding and are really pushing their new e-commerce site. I’ve now got a Birchbox and a Joliebox to compare…

This months Joliebox had the title ‘Pure and Natural’ so inside are five natural beauty products. There is a very generous full size Ritessens Exfoliant which I will be trying but does sounds great. The other full size product is the Jason Lip Balm stick which has made it’s way into my handbag and I really like. The Moa Green Lip Balm is something I have received in the past through a beauty box and luckily something I quite like as it is a multipurpose balm. There are also two sachets of Iroisie BB Creams which I probably will never use and a strange lifestyle product in the form of Lov Organic Herbal Tea which I wouldn’t personally really want in my beauty box. Overall I really like 3 out of the five products and think it is quite a generous box.

The packaging for the Birchbox is much smaller and flimsy however I am not sure if there are actually changing over to this box (it also has a bit of a funny smell). Inside there is again four beauty products and one lifestyle extra which leads me to thing that usually there are only four products in the box. There is a DDF foaming cleanser which I won’t use as I don’t think foaming cleansers are too good for the skin, a Jouer Lipgloss which is tiny but I really like the idea of a moisturising gloss, a Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy La Fleur sample which I think is nice as its a new perfume (I have the full size and love it!) and the LiQWd Volumizing Catalyst which I will also be trying. Once again I like 3 out of the five products but the Larabar still seems like a weird addition!

I am very excited to see how this merge is going to work and how each months box will change, I am hoping for slightly better brands as Birchbox is such a well known company! I also know that in the next few days they will be launching JoliePoints which means each time you sign up, refer a friend, shop or provide feedback through their website you will build up points which you can put towards a product which sounds like a great idea! I hope that we still get the magazine within each box but maybe a few more interactive things too!

What do you think of Joliebox and Birchbox joining forces? What are you hoping to see change/remain the same?
