Although I had heard lots of people rave about the This Works In Transit Camera Close Up I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with it. I’m not really a huge believer in primers and had never seen a huge difference when I wore them, until now.

Sold as a primer, moisturiser and mask in one, when I first apply it I find that it hydrates my skin beautifully just like any good moisturiser would. It absorbs quickly and although they sell it as a mask it is also very light and I use it every morning.

The best part about it, is how long my makeup lasts when I use this. Usually my foundation slips a little bit, my blusher fades and any redness starts seeping through within 6-8 hours however with this product under my foundation it lasts all day. Numerous times I have gone to touch up my makeup and found there was no need as this had locked everything in place.

It’s also a great one to take away on holiday as it does so much, you could even apply it as a mask on the plane by simply applying a thicker layer than usual which I haven’t tried but will be doing so soon.

A great product if you have a foundation you love but that doesn’t last all day, I can no longer see my makeup routine without it. It’s the best.

Since my last blog post with my ten top Budget Cult Beauty Products worth the Hype proved to be quite popular I thought today I would share the non-budget version. That said most of these products float around the £20-£30 mark which I think isn’t overly highend and all these products are well worth the extra pounds.

Makeup Forever HD Foundation (Available here)
I wasn’t sure if I was going to include this as it isn’t easy to get hold of in the UK however it’s probably one of my all time favourite foundations, it overs coverage without being overly cakey.

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk (Available here)
Equally as beautiful as the Makeup Forever HD Foundation however it’s a little easier to get hold of and it’s a Kardashian favourite!

Bumble & bumble Dry Spun Finish (Available here)
I wasn’t too sure if it was soon to call this a ‘Cult product’ as it has only been released recently but everyone in the industry seems to love it and I can see why. It adds volume and texture without adding in weight which is perfect for use fine hair gals.

Benefit The Porefessional (Available here)
This almost didn’t make the cut but I love it and use it so much it simply had to. I’ve gone through a few tubes and it remains my favourite primer.

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream (Available here)
Rewind a couple of years and this product was everywhere but it seems to be getting forgotten a little, at least with bloggers but it still remains an absolute staple for both me and my mum. It’s great for minor irritations, sores and dry skin- I always have one of these on hand.

Clarins Instant Lip Perfectors (Available here)
Simply the best lipgloss out there, nothing compares.

Urban Decay Naked Palettes (Available here)
I doubt any eyeshadow palette will come out soon and actually be better than these they are just my favourite, it’s rare that I ever reach for anything else.

Mac Lipsticks (Available here)
I nearly put YSL lipsticks in here but if I am honest I prefer MAC and they’re cheaper. The colour range and finish selection is very impressive, they always have what you are looking for.

Benefit They’re Real Mascara (Available here)
You need to give it a week to dry out a little but after that it’s amazing and adds great volume and length.

Clarisonic (Available here)
I’ve had this for ages now and somehow have never mentioned it, I am not a Clarisonic addict but still think it’s a staple. I only use it every now and then but see a great change when I do, it’s also useful when removing fake tan from neck and decolletage.

Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler (Available here)
After almost removing all my eyelashes and eyeball with another pair of curlers this week I am convinced these are the best on the market. The shape is perfect to achieve lifted lashes and an open eye, a little pricey as far as eyelash curlers go but a great investment and they last a long time.

YSL Mascara (Available here)
Although I don’t have one at the moment YSL mascaras (Shocking or original) are my favourite picks, nothing gives my lashes volume like them.

Which cult beauty products have I missed out? Have you tried any of my top picks?

Since I touched on the new Bourjois Nail products I thought we would have a quick look at their makeup product which have recently launched.

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream and Concealer- I’m not a CC Cream kinda gal, I need full coverage. I tucked this product into an acrylic draw and forgot about it until I decided to give it a go as a primer. Since then I have fallen for it, it works beautifully as a primer under a light/medium coverage foundation as it gives a radiant flawless finish. What’s most shocking is I’ve even been wearing them alone with no foundation and felt super comfortable in them. I wear foundation to hide the redness in my skin and this does it do beautifully without masking everything else. (I use shade 33 in the CC Cream)

Bourjois Happy Light Primers- These have been out for a little while now but I still haven’t got too attached. They come in a matte and a luminous version and although they are nice I wouldn’t say either makes a huge difference to my skin.

Bourjois MegaLiner- This is the first (I think) angled liquid liner I have tried and although I think it’s a nice idea I find it a little trickier to trace a line on to my eyelid. That said it makes the flick much easier and since that is always the hardest part I actually quite like this product. The best thing about it however is that it is very black and lasts all day which is something very few eyeliners are able to do on me.

Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara- Inspired by the traditional hair round brushes this mascara wand is quite a thick one. It deliver clump-free, intensely black, volumised lashes, quickly but it does take a fair bit longer than a second. I quite like Bourjois mascara’s but think this could be one of the best and although the brush is quite big I think it works particularly well on the bottom lashes.

Bourjous Rouge Edition Velvet- I have four of these new Velvet/Matte Finish liquid Lipsticks, the pigmentation is amazing and they have some beautiful vivid colours and last really long but theres something about them that has caused me not to reach for them. Matte lip colours have been notoriously difficult for me but these apply patchy, are a little drying and have a horrible scent which reminds me of sticky tape. That said I know a lot of people love them but they’re simply not for me.

Bourjois still remains one of my favourite drugstore brands but I would love to know what you love from them in the comments. Have you tried any of the products I have mentioned?

Bourjois is available in Boots, Superdrugs and online on ASOS.

YSL is potentially my favourite beauty brand therefore I always get very excited for their launches and so far this year they’ve had some great one. Most recently they launched the beautiful limited edition Touche Eclat in a leopard print tube which I blogged about here, a range of Colour Correcting CC creams and their Baby Doll Kiss and Blush’s.

The Forever Light CC Cremes are colour correcting CC Creams which can be used along or as primers. They come in Apricot, Lavender and Rose each designed to correct imperfections and add a glow to the skin but they are far more tinted than I expected. They also have SPF35 which is particularly important now that spring has come about and claims to provide long term complexion improvements. However I think due to the colour correcting shades they come in I wouldn’t be able to use them on their own and I think darker skintones may also struggle with these.

I have been using Apricot for about a week now and really like it under my foundations and tinted moisturisers. I also gave the rose one a try today and was quite impressed although I did find it made my skin a little more pale which I wasn’t too keen on. Out of the two I would have to chose Apricot as my favourite as it adds a perfect glow to the skin and I’m sure I’ll carry on using it throughout the coming months. If you are interested in seeing what it looks like under a foundation check out my everyday makeup post here. After swatching the Lavender one on my hand I am a little more sceptical as it seem to really lighten the skin but I will keep you updated once I have tried it.

YSL have also realised Baby Doll Kiss & Blush which is a hybrid lip and cheek colour with a soft matte finish, comes in an impressive 12 shades. They are a great on-the-go product, just apply a dot or two on the cheek and blend out using your finger. You can do the same on the lips or simply apply it using the applicator for a more opaque colour. I found that on the lips it actually wasn’t very matte which I like and applies with quite a thin consistency. One the cheek it’s quite sheer on the cheek but very buildable. Below is a photo of me wearing the Baby Doll Kiss and Blush on my lips in 2 Rose Frivole.

The Baby Doll Kiss and Blush is available online only until the end of next month where it will be available on all YSL counters and the CC Creme’s are currently available on YSL Counters and online

I’m in two minds about how I feel for Benefit. I love the packaging, some products are great but some aren’t and are a little over prices. However I was excited to try these two new kits as at under £25 and with a variation of products these seem affordable and a pretty good deal.

Sugarlicious is one of fourteen kits by Benefit, it is sold as a ‘Delicious nude…lip & cheek kit’ and comes with four products Benetint, Highbeam, Sugarbomb and Ultra Plush Sugar Bomb lipgloss. It includes natural shades and some real cult Benefit products such as Benetint!

Both boxes come with a step by step how-to, a good size mirror and a brush. I have been wanting to try Sugarbomb for a while so was very excited and think it works really well with Benetint and Highbeam. I like that it also has a lipgloss although I am not a big fan of Benetint on the lips as the instructions suggest. The look is really lovely and glowing which is what I usually go for but you can chose to use just one of the cheek products at a time if you wish. If you aren’t a fan of Sugar bomb there are also sets with Coralista and Dandelion

I also think it is really nice that you can remove the insert and use it as a box! However, considering it is something they suggest you do I think its a little impractical that the blush doesn’t have a little case, where would you put it?!

The other Kit I tried was the How to look the best at everything complexion kit which comes with a the Porefessional Primer, Hello Flawless Foundation, Bo-ing concealer in shade 01 & 02 as well as Hello Flawless powder. The kit I have is in Light which is too light for me as the foundation shade is Champagne but I already had the shade Honey which is what I put on instead. The primer is the same size as those that came in Glamour magazine a while back but still a lovely product, I don’t think the foundation offers a huge amount of coverage (light-medium) but if you use the concealer too it should be enough, I also really like that there are two concealer shades.

All the products in image above other than eye products are by Benefit and as you can see the skin looks healthy, natural (ignore the breakout, blame the Clarasonic!) and with a nice glow.

I really like the idea of these little sets and think they are a great, affordable way to try Benefit. These would make perfect gifts for any girl/woman although it is a shame they don’t cater to darker skins. I don’t think I would every go all out and use all the products together but its nice to be able to use a few.

What do you think of Benefit? Are you tempted by the look of these kits?
