When it comes to makeup shopping I think Boots has to be one of the best stores to go to. The mixture of high end and affordable products is perfect, plus they have some really exciting new brands (Hello Fenty!) You can treat yourself to a Chanel Bronzer or experiment with a super affordable lipstick and there is something a little magical about that which most other retailers don’t offer.

I thought today I would share with you some highlights from Boots and also my current go-to makeup products for the summer. I love summer makeup, especially the bold colours and the glitter makeup but today’s look is quite glowy and natural as the focus really is the bold lip!

As it’s summer I’ve been trying to keep my face out of the sun and I’ve been reaching for SPF daily but in order to keep the colour of my face matching my body I’ve been opting for the Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops. I add them to any oil I’m using over night once or twice a week and it really adds a natural bronze to my skin that I love, without any sun damage.

For my base I’ve been reaching for the Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Face Primer. It adds a dewy, healthy glow under makeup whilst also extending makeup wear. On top of that I’ve been opting for the IT Cosmetics CC Cream, I initially was a little worried about using the Matte Version as I have dry skin and like a dewy finish but actually this is a really beautiful foundation which doesn’t look cakey or dry but lasts all day. An extra plus for the IT Cosmetics CC Cream is that it has SPF40, which is super important in the summer months.

I’ve recently been giving Fenty Beauty a try, which is now available at Boots! The Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Concealer has been the stand out product for me, it isn’t too heavy but does a great job of covering under eye darkness and adding a little life and brightness to the face.

When it comes to cheek and eyes I like to often use the same products, especially if I am going for a bold lip. I’ve used the Sun Stalk’r Instant Warmth Bronzer all over the eye for a neutral but polished eye and over the cheeks for a bronzed look. I’ve teamed that with the Bourjois Le Petit Strober on the highpoint of my cheeks and in the inner corner of my eye. I’ve skipped blush on my cheeks but opted for the Benefit Roller Liner on my eyes which has been my go-to as it doesn’t smudge, even in hot weather, with a layer of No7 Extreme Length Waterproof Mascara which I love as it holds a curl really very well!

To set the makeup a little Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Setting Powder great; it doesn’t look too cakey and matte but really hold makeup in place and gets rid of too much shine. As well as little Benefit Precisely My Brow to fill in a little sparseness.

I love a red lip all year round but in the summer I love a more orangey red such as this Bourjous Velvet Lip Pencil in Amuse Rouge It’s such a fun, vibrant colour however it is very easy to apply and comfortable to wear. The whole range of these is great and they have some great nudes but this is my stand out for the summer.

When it comes to nails I recently left gel manicures behind and decided to start painting my own nails for a while. I absolutely love the new Sally Hansen Neon range but I’ve been reaching for the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polish in ‘O-Zone you didn’t’ the most. Sally Hansen also have a spray on top coat which is a game changer- so quick and easy!

And if you’re wondering what perfume I’ve been opting for it’s the Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Bloom, I’ve decided that this will be my fragrance of summer 2019. It’s fruity and floral and exactly what I want to smell of in the summer!

What is your go-to makeup look? What is your favourite bold lipstick this summer?

At the beginning of autumn I shared my favourite beauty bits and new releases for Autumn which you guys seemed to really enjoy so I thought I would do the same for the Christmas Party Season. For me party season is about long lasting bases, red lipsticks with a little bit of gold and glitter to finish it off. You can go a little over board and still look festive rather than drag queen in my eyes so it’s just a little more fun. As it’s getting so cold I like to play up the makeup and keep my outfit boring as I can’t bear feeling cold.

What are your party season must haves?

With the sales finally started I thought I would pick my favourite beauty items that have been discounted. They are old favourites, new discoveries of my own or products top of my own wishlist.

Juicy Couture Malibu £16 (was £47)
It’s no secret that I adore the Juicy Couture Perfumes and I can’t get over how much of a bargain this one is! It’s not very often you can a good quality perfume for less than £40 and especially not under £20! Perfect summer scent, I own this and have been using it loads.

SISLEY Phyto–Touche Tinted Body Sun Glow gel £60.30 (was £67)
Not really the most generous of discounts especially as it is an expensive product to begin with however I have heard this is one of the best fake tans going, just a little out of my price range.

Nuxe Creme Fraiche Rich Cream £21.25 (was £25)
I love Nuxe and actually have been using this cream for a while now, its ideal for anyone with very dry skin but looking for something that isn’t too heavy or going to irritate their skin.

Weleda Skin Food £6.96 (was £9.95)
I’ve fallen in love with this recently and although it’s reasonable priced to begin with the discount means it would simply be rude to not add one (or three) to your basket.

Benefit Hoola Set £30 (was £43)
This set comes with the classic Benefit Hoola Bronzer and They’re Real Mascara which alone retail for £40 and since both products are amazing it makes this a bargain! I also think the smaller size primers are ideal to travel with.

Rodial Brazilian Tan £31 (was £39)
I used this tan a while back and it offers a beautiful natural looking tan and the discount helps make this expensive tan a little more affordable.

Tweezerman Tweezer & Mirror Set £12 (was £24)
Tweezerman Tweezers aren’t cheap and I wasn’t too sure they were worth the money initially but they are life changing, nothing else I have ever tried compares to these. They make what I usually find to be a chore, much easier and less painful. Since this set comes with a mirror for just £12 I think it’s very reasonable, I also know it’s a slightly christmasy print but I don’t think that should be a problem.

The Body Shop Body Butters £5 (was £13)
This is a favourite with most and an excellent body cream but at the normal £13 it isn’t the most inexpensive which is why it’s a great time to stock up. They aren’t all discount but there are still some great ones to chose from.
