I’ve heard the weather in the UK is less sunny but I’m still hoping there’s a few extra days of sunshine once I get back to London and since some of you may still have some sunny holiday planned I thought I would share my holiday glow secret with you.

So, I love a tan; whether real or fake and I find that it makes a huge difference in my outfit choices too. With a bit of a tan I’m more confident and willing to show more skin and since it’s pretty hot here, showing a little skin is a must. I have been spending a few days relaxing on a sun lounger but find a little bit of gradual tan can make a huge difference and I’ve been using the Dove DermaSpa Summer Revived Shimmer for the last few days.

At first I was a little nervous, I haven’t used much gradual tan since I was a teen but I am glad to report that it’s totally different, no strong smell, the tan itself is a beautiful olive shade and it applies incredible evenly even with minimal effort. It’s super hydrating as it has one of the highest levels of glycerin found on the high street which helps skin look super healthy but also minimises streaks. The Dove DermaSpa Summer Revived Shimmer combines dermatological expertise with a spa-like experience making sure it delivers intensive skincare with its Cell-Moisturisers technology.

And the scent is really nice! I’ve actually walked into a room and been asked what has made me smell so good- it’s a delicious citrus, floral, fruity scent- again perfect for summer!

I also love the shimmer although I was initially a little unsure, it’s actually perfect, especially in the evening or in photos. I usually bring a shimmer oil with me for photos as I find the shimmer really makes legs look healthier and more even toned but as this also has the gradual tan it’s the perfect product.

I’ve been applying mine in the evening, just before I take my photos in perfect early evening sunset and I’ll be packing it on every sunny holiday from now on.

Dove DermaSpa Summer Revived Shimmer comes in medium to dark and the recommended retail price is £7.69.

What are you favourite products for enhancing you holiday glow?

I wasn’t sure if I was going to call this blog post 5 Beauty Products Every Busy Girl Needs or Every Lazy Girl Needs but it works for both.

Whether you have a few minutes to get ready to leave the house because you slept too much or because you’ve already been working all morning below are the product I have been loving when I need a quick beauty routine.

1.It Cosmetics CC Cream (HERE)

This is everything I have ever wanted in a foundation but never managed to get. It offers good coverage but doesn’t look heavy on the skin and the Colour Correcting quality means it really reduces time concealing the skin. If I’m in a rush I apply this quickly with my fingers and need only a little concealer and powder on top to get my desired look. It also has SPF 50+ so I don’t even bother applying another suncream (unless I’m going to be outdoors for a prolonged period) and if your skin isn’t too dry I think you might even be able to skip moisturiser some days as it’s hydrating without being oily too. I’ve had this for about three weeks now and haven’t used anything else. I can’t recommend this product enough and I’m very excited that It Cosmetics is now available on Selfridges.com and will be available in store at the end of the month!

2. Soap & Glory Spritz Me Quick (HERE)

Moisturising my body is one of my all-time least favourite tasks. Bodies are so long and there is so much area to cover.

However, my skin has been so dry since I’ve been away and not moisturising at least my limbs hasn’t really been an option. Before this arrived I’d spend ages trying to rub in butters and creams but this has made the whole process far more enjoyable. It has a spritz pump which sprays out a light mist which is easy to rub in, smells amazing and is very hydrating. I’ve never really fallen in love with the Soap & Glory body creams as the process has always been a little long for me but with this one you can apply it any which way (and the pump still works), rub in, get dressed and go. It also has the Original Pink scent which so many people love from S&G which does actually linger as my boyfriend told me I smelt nice walking down the street when all I was wearing was this.

3. Benefit Gimme Brow (HERE)

An oldie but a goodie.

Okay, not that old and in fairly new packaging but such a goodie! Also, not photographed as it seems to have done a runner and needs to be replaced asap.

If I’m in a rush I always reach for this product, for me, it’s all I need. It adds a bit of volume where I’m a little sparse as it contains tiny microfibres, it adds a little bit of tint and holds my brows in place. I use this almost every day (when it isn’t lost), if I’m not in a rush I’ll team it with Benefit Good Proof Eyebrow Pencil but even if I don’t have time for that this adds the perfect amount of definition.

4. Vo5 Dry Backcomb Spray

On days that I’m strapped for time, my hair suffers most. If I’ve only had time do add a little dry shampoo and not give my hair a proper wash then my hair gets extremely flat. My most recent discovery is the VO5 Dry Backcomb Spray, there are other great once but a lot of the other ones I have tried are quite pricey (Oribe texturing spray- great but £££). It adds a nice amount of volume and texture to the hair but isn’t too sticky or heavy so doesn’t weigh down my hair even more. It’s also great if you want nice, voluminous, beauty waves!

PS. This seems to be sold out online, I think it’s coming back but in a slightly larger bottle.

5. Neutrogena Visibly Clear In Shower Mask (HERE)

I have been doing a slightly better job of using masks this year but I don’t always have 10-15 minutes to wait around for a mask to dry and I always worry getting a knock at the doorbell and having to answer with a green face.

That’s why I was really drawn to this in-shower mask but I was initially a little worried as I have combination skin and this mask is supposed to help mattify skin. That said the refining pore element really appealed to me so I gave it a go. It’s a bit of an exfoliator and mask in one which only requires 60 seconds and it leaves my skin feeling exfoliated and healthy without stripping it.

jason 2 jason 1 jason 3If you follow me on Instagram, you may remember that I started using Jason a week ago. My skin always gets so dry and flaky at this time of the year and I felt January was the perfect time to make the effort to actually look after the skin on my body and not just focus on my face. Apparently, I’m not alone on this, as winter leaves the nation’s females feeling as if their skin has aged by 2.5 years every 12 months!

If you’re not familiar with Jason Natural Care, it’s one of the leading natural beauty brands with over 50 years of experience. I’ve been testing out the Smoothing Coconut range that uses unrefined virgin coconut oil and includes a multipurpose Coconut Oil, Body Wash and Hand & Body Lotion

I was first drawn to the Body Wash as it comes in a huge bottle with a pump; perfect for placing on the side of the shower and is suitable for the whole family. I’ve had mine in the bathroom all week and my entire family have commented on how convenient it is. I’ve also found it to be a great hydrating step in the shower, as most of the body washes I’ve previously used tended to be quite drying and would strip my skin of natural oils, which is a definite deal breaker for me, especially in winter. The Body Wash has Virgin Coconut Oil and Shea Butter to moisturise even extremely dry skin and offers long lasting hydration to keep my limbs looking soft and smooth, even when the temperature hits zero.

I then like to finish my shower/bath routine by applying the Smoothing Coconut Hand & Body Lotion, which also contains unrefined Virgin Coconut Oil, Shea Butter and is rich in Vitamin E. I’ll admit that moisturising my body is a bit of a new thing for me, I know I should be doing it but it’s a step I usually skip. However, it’s amazing the difference the Jason Hand & Body Lotion has made. My skin has been quite dry as it’s been so cold in London recently, but there’s been a noticeable improvement with my skin and I no longer have to worry about dry patches or redness. I’

The Coconut Oil is something I wish I had tried earlier! I often cook with Coconut Oil but haven’t ever used it for beauty purposes until now. It’s so versatile and I love to use it as a hydrating mask for my hair or to remove my makeup. However, if you’re feeling a little creative at home, you can definitely mix it with some sugar and use it as a scrub, which works amazingly!

When using it in my hair I leave it in for a few hours on the ends of my hair before shampooing out, it obviously doesn’t reverse the damage on my hair but it definitely makes my hair smoother, more hydrated and makes it appear healthier. Since my skin on my face is also quite dry I love a balm cleanser and coconut oil works perfectly, it gets through foundation, lipstick and even waterproof mascara, although you do have to ensure it’s been removed thoroughly with a washcloth. I also think it’s so nice to move away from chemical-laden products and try natural products which allow my skin to breathe, after all, it’s the biggest organ of the body.

Overall I’m so glad I started using the range, my body is definitely thanking me for it! January is normally such a depressing month, but having hydrated skin and healthy hair has really helped to improve my mood and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year will bring!

Jason is available on Ocado.

The whole town is very relaxing, we had a tour around the town, the Bad Wörishofen Rose garden and had the pleasure of meeting Jochen Reisberger, the spa Manager who has been interested in water and health since being a child and is clearly very passionate about the Kneipp philosophy. It was great to tour the hotel, see the treatment rooms and the spa- I even spotted a lying down shower that sounds incredible!

Dinner the first day was at a really impressive Bavarian Restaurant called Löwenbräu, I actually can’t remember what I had but we tried a Barwurz Vogelbeer Enzian which is warm beer and got to experience a very local German restaurant which was a real treat.

Day two was another early start but a rather pleasant one as we had an early morning treatment. The therapists had access to our rooms and at around 6am came in for the Hay Sack treatment whilst we were all asleep. She placed a linen bag of hay which had been heated with hot water steam on my upper back and wrapped me like a cocoon, which was really comforting and I was surprised about how relaxed my shoulders were after!

The second treatment before breakfast was downstairs, we bathed our legs in hot and cold water to both wake us up and get our circulation going, it’s actually a really good treatment that you can try at home to help strengthen your immune system. In Germany people are actually advised by their doctors to visit the Kneipp Health Spa which really proves how amazing the Kneipp theory and spas are! Its seen as a more natural and holistic way to deal with certain medical issues with great results.

We then visited Sebastian Kneipp’s burial spot and the museum for a little more history on the brand before heading back to the hotel to cook our own lunch.I haven’t had the chance to try the recipes at home but once I do I’ll share them on here or Snapchat as the food was delicious, easy to make and healthy. There was no meat or processed food but the meal was truly delicious!

For the second portion of the trip we moved onto Würzburg, a city in the Bavaria region that I really fell in love with. We had drinks on a really quaint bridge before a spot of dinner and starting our Night Watchman Tour. If you ever find yourself in Würzburg then I can’t recommend the tour enough!

The third day we went off on our factory tour, it was by far the most interesting factory tour I’ve ever been on! Everyone that works at the factory seems to be very passionate and knowledgeable about the products which I think is quite rare nowadays. Most of the people we met on the trip had been brought up with Kneipp in their home and lived a very Kneipp inspired life. We got to see all the raw materials, see how the quality was so highly controlled and see everything get packaged up.

Since I’ve been back I have been using lots of their products and I can’t believe how affordable and high quality they are. The bath salts are my personal favourites although the whole body range is amazing, the scents are very natural smelling which is a big thing for me but more importantly really work. I haven’t had a chance to try the skincare yet but I’ve heard such good things and I am really excited to do so.

Thanks Kneipp for having me!

Kneipp is available at Feelunique, Lookfantasic and Graftons beauty. Don’t forget to watch my vlog from the trip here!

new beauty productsOrigins Warm Down Lava Scrub
I’ll admit that I think this is a little bit gimmicky, I don’t know if you really need a body scrub designed especially for post gym but I have been using this one for a few weeks and have been loving it. This is the first body warming body scrub I have ever used and the shower-activated Volcanic Ash which warms on contact with water is suppose to help ease muscle tension as well as purify. I’m not too sure if it really does that but it’s a beautifully gentle scrub which I find to be super luxurious and relaxing because of the warming sensation. It’s a little more than I usually spend on a scrub but it’s the perfect pamper product and I really look forward to using it.

Goldwell Kerasilk Repower Volume Blow Dry Spray
I have been loving salon designed hair products recently and my most recent discovery is the Goldwell Kerasilk Repower range. My favourite product is this Volume Blow Dry spray as it has heat protection but also adds volume to my hair without being sticky and difficult to work in.

SinfulColors X Kylie Jenner
If you’re a Kylie Jenner fan and want to buy something from her beauty empire but don’t fancy paying the custom charges for a lip kit than you’ll be happy hear that her collaboration with SinfulColors is available for just £3 from Superdrug. I went for the colour Miss Chief which is a dusty lavender/pink shade with tiny specs of silver shimmer which is luckily barely noticeable on the nail and is just a typical me colour.

Jo Malone London Carrot Blossom & Fennel
This might be a big statement but I think this might be my favourite Jo Malone scent ever and it’s really really grown on my since the first time I tried it. It’s light and summery with (as you’d imagine) hints of carrot and fennel as well as apricot and white musk. It’s a great travel friendly size which I think might make it my summer holiday scent.

Soft & Gentle 2 in 1 Shower and Shave mousse
Not the most glamorous product but essential and it’s been living in my shower for the last couple of weeks. It’s designed for intimate skin and pH balanced but have been using it even to shave my legs and found it to work really well without irritating my skin. If you ever have issues with irritation shaving the bikini line (although it’s probably worth switching to waxing if you do) then this is a great product to try as it’s the only shaving cream I’ve seen designed with this area in mind.
