If you’ve been a follower of mine for a while you’ll know that one of my favourite pick me ups and confidence booster is a tan. I honestly think everything is better with a tan, it helps disguise any minor imperfections and I just love the glow and colour.

In the summer I love a real (but safe and responsible) tan but I always turn to a fake tan for my face as sun exposure can really speed up ageing, especially on the face where the skin is thinner.

When picking a fake tan for face I look for one which won’t interfere too heavily with my skincare routine, won’t clog my pores and will give me a beautiful colour too. I have two options which I reach depending on the look I want and how my skin is feeling.

If I want something which I can mix with my moisturiser I will go for the Tan Luxe Illuminating Self-tan drops, it’s on the pricer side but the whole range is beautiful. You have a little more control with this tan as you add it to your moisturiser. I also love using this on other body parts, such as my hands which I also keep topped up with SPF 50 during the day.  For something which you can apply straight to your face without mixing and which is a little more affordable, the Isle of Paradise Hyglo Self Tan serum is also beautiful, great colour and applies perfectly.

I use both products over night as I like to to remove the top layer in the morning. They last up to 5 days for me but I often top up towards day 3 or 4 with a few less drops than I used initially.

If you haven’t tried fake tan yet I would highly recommend you try these out, their colour is light and far less scary than many fake tans can be. I find especially in these usual times it’s a little bit of positivity which I can add to my mood and life.

Tan Luxe Illuminating Self-tan drops and Isle of Paradise Hyglo Self Tan serum are both available art Boots with some other great body tanning options too, which I’ll be going back to soon once my natural tan starts to fade.

When it comes to makeup shopping I think Boots has to be one of the best stores to go to. The mixture of high end and affordable products is perfect, plus they have some really exciting new brands (Hello Fenty!) You can treat yourself to a Chanel Bronzer or experiment with a super affordable lipstick and there is something a little magical about that which most other retailers don’t offer.

I thought today I would share with you some highlights from Boots and also my current go-to makeup products for the summer. I love summer makeup, especially the bold colours and the glitter makeup but today’s look is quite glowy and natural as the focus really is the bold lip!

As it’s summer I’ve been trying to keep my face out of the sun and I’ve been reaching for SPF daily but in order to keep the colour of my face matching my body I’ve been opting for the Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops. I add them to any oil I’m using over night once or twice a week and it really adds a natural bronze to my skin that I love, without any sun damage.

For my base I’ve been reaching for the Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Face Primer. It adds a dewy, healthy glow under makeup whilst also extending makeup wear. On top of that I’ve been opting for the IT Cosmetics CC Cream, I initially was a little worried about using the Matte Version as I have dry skin and like a dewy finish but actually this is a really beautiful foundation which doesn’t look cakey or dry but lasts all day. An extra plus for the IT Cosmetics CC Cream is that it has SPF40, which is super important in the summer months.

I’ve recently been giving Fenty Beauty a try, which is now available at Boots! The Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Concealer has been the stand out product for me, it isn’t too heavy but does a great job of covering under eye darkness and adding a little life and brightness to the face.

When it comes to cheek and eyes I like to often use the same products, especially if I am going for a bold lip. I’ve used the Sun Stalk’r Instant Warmth Bronzer all over the eye for a neutral but polished eye and over the cheeks for a bronzed look. I’ve teamed that with the Bourjois Le Petit Strober on the highpoint of my cheeks and in the inner corner of my eye. I’ve skipped blush on my cheeks but opted for the Benefit Roller Liner on my eyes which has been my go-to as it doesn’t smudge, even in hot weather, with a layer of No7 Extreme Length Waterproof Mascara which I love as it holds a curl really very well!

To set the makeup a little Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Setting Powder great; it doesn’t look too cakey and matte but really hold makeup in place and gets rid of too much shine. As well as little Benefit Precisely My Brow to fill in a little sparseness.

I love a red lip all year round but in the summer I love a more orangey red such as this Bourjous Velvet Lip Pencil in Amuse Rouge It’s such a fun, vibrant colour however it is very easy to apply and comfortable to wear. The whole range of these is great and they have some great nudes but this is my stand out for the summer.

When it comes to nails I recently left gel manicures behind and decided to start painting my own nails for a while. I absolutely love the new Sally Hansen Neon range but I’ve been reaching for the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polish in ‘O-Zone you didn’t’ the most. Sally Hansen also have a spray on top coat which is a game changer- so quick and easy!

And if you’re wondering what perfume I’ve been opting for it’s the Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Bloom, I’ve decided that this will be my fragrance of summer 2019. It’s fruity and floral and exactly what I want to smell of in the summer!

What is your go-to makeup look? What is your favourite bold lipstick this summer?

With Christmas Eve being already next week it’s time to start wrapping up our Christmas shopping but if you’re still after a few bits, which won’t break the bank or the most beautiful stocking fillers than stay tuned as Ted Baker have exactly what you need!

If you’ve caught any of my Christmas Gift Guides than you know I love the Boots 3 for 2 offers over the festive season, especially all the beautiful rose gold offerings from Ted Baker. The Porcelain Rose bath, body and cosmetics collection has a vintage glamour feel with the large roses print and added elements of rose gold, the collection has a very luxury look but at an affordable price.

My favourite has to be the Ted Baker Pouting Petals Lip Gift (£14), a trio of lipsticks, packaged very similarly to one of my favourite high-end lipstick brands with rose gold ridged casing. The nude, pink and red shades are great from day to night and are really creamy! The nude shade has made it into my handbag and it won’t be leaving anytime soon. It’s also worth noting that the Ted Baker cosmetics are only around at Christmas so be sure to get your hands on them now!

If you’re looking to add a little sparkle to someones life then the Ted Baker Shimmer Body Wash (£8.50) is perfect. It smells amazing and adds the perfect amount of shimmer to help skin look glowy this part season.

A great gift everyone would love is the Ted Baker Glittering Gem Soap Collection (£8.50), another trio but this time of nude pink gem shaped soaps. It’s a great gift for those hard-to- buy-for people and at only £8.50 it’s a very affordable price point too.

If you’re stuck for secret Santa ideas or need a few more affordable stocking fillers than the Ted Baker Little Petal Body Sprays (£3) are fab! They come in cute tree ornament style packaging and as they’re 50ml they’re perfect handbag size! I have Opulent Petal and Petal Blush Pink which both smell amazing; Blush Pink is a soft floral scent with notes of Jasmine, patchouli and Neroli where as Opulent Petal is a little more of a woody-floral with notes of jasmine, orange blossom, exotic ylang and musk.

And if you’re still after some men’s gifts then they also have a great range here.

The whole range is exclusive to Boots and is on 3 for 2 deal this Christmas! What is your favourite Ted Baker Gift?

For those of you that follow me on Instagram or YouTube, you may have seen that I’m taking part in a super fun Halloween Campaign with Boots to create an affordable and easy Halloween look.

I went for Wednesday Addams as not only is the makeup easy but so is the outfit- plus I think it’s a good scary-ish Halloween outfit without being gruesome.

As part of the campaign, Boots threw a fabulous Halloween sleepover at an amazing haunted hotel with some of my favourite bloggers; Meg, Em and Becca who I celebrated with in spooktacular style.

We all recreated our Halloween makeup looks (check out the girls looks here: Em, Becca and Meg)

For mine, I used the same products from my YouTube video to create my Halloween look and it was super quick and easy. All the products are available at Boots and start at just £2.99, plus they have a ‘3 for 2’ mix and match across cosmetics and beauty accessories at the moment – BONUS. My current favourite Natural Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner is a must have I wore all evening and I also really fell in love with the black lips and the beautiful lashes!

Products used:
Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner, Clinique High Impact Mascara, Eylure Enchanted Lashes, Maybelline Palette The Nudes, Collection Eyebrow Kit Brunette, Seventeen Define and Conquer Contour Kit, NYX Professional Makeup Stay Matte But Not Flat Liquid Foundation and NYX Professional Makeup High Definition Finishing Powder

I finished my Wednesday Addams look with Barry M Gelly Nail Paint Black Forest, which not only looks great for Halloween but also is a great autumn/winter pick.
Once we were all made up we ate lots of Halloween themed chocolates, made our way through endless popcorn and watched my favourite Halloween film- Hocus Pocus.

I had such a lovely time and a huge thanks to Boots for having me and for collaborating with me!

Have you got any plans for Halloween this year? Will you be trying out this Wednesday Addams look?

botanics bootsTrying drugstore skincare has been top of my to-do list for a little while so when Boots Botanics asked if I wanted to try their range I had to say yes, as I’ve heard great things in the past and seen it pop up in endless magazines as one of the best affordable skincare ranges.boots botanicsI’ve had issues with Micellar waters in the past but the Boots Botanics All Bright Micellar 3 in 1 cleansing solution was one of the best I’ve tried. It’s great at removing my makeup without stripping my skin, which I find a lot of other micellar waters do. I’m a wash-off cleanser lover and that probably won’t change any time soon but I love having a micellar water which works in my stash. This one can be used on the face, eyes and lips, which I find to be really useful. It has hibiscus to help boast brightness and AHAs to work as a mid exfoliator.boots botanics oil botanics boots oilThe Boots Botanics Smoothing Facial Oil is a product I wish I’d found sooner as it really helps add moisture to my dehydrated skin and helps add the natural glow I am always after but it can be used on any skin type. It has purple orchid, which helps skin replenish resulting in softer, suppler skin. Since my skin does need extra moisture I found the Boots Botanics Radiant Youth Super Serum to really add an intensive boost to my skin. It’s packed with antioxidants, which helps skin look younger and Ginkgo with is apparently ‘nature’s most trusted protectors’, helping fight free radicals and environmental stress. There’s also a Triple Age renewal Hydrating Eye Serum with hyaluronic acid, vitamins A, C & E- ideal for anyone worried about the first signs of ageing.

I’ve been really into eye makeup remover this year and have found the Botanics Smoothing Eye Make Up Remover to be really comparable to high-end brands. It needs a good shake before you use it but it removes even waterproof makeup effortlessly without stinging my sensitive eyes.boots botanics brushI also can’t end this review without telling you about their facial brush! We’ve all seen the super expensive electric facial brushes which I actually often find too harsh but the Botanics Facial Brush (which is just £6!) has been a great addition to my routine. I don’t use it daily but always incorporate it in my pamper routine, it’s super soft and therefore exfoliates the skin very gently. I usually team it with my cleanser, gently massaging in circular motions and find it to be both effective and relaxing.

Overall I have loved the Botanics range, I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks and have found my skin to be more hydrated and bright. I’ve even spotted the Bath & Body care range, which I’ll be picking up soon!
