nars chanel house of fraser

It’s probably my everyday basics that I get most excited about purchasing, there’s something really satisfying about starting a new bottle of foundation, even if it is no different to the one I just finished.

I mentioned in my Berlin Vlog that I left my Chanel Vita Lumiere Aqua Foundation on the plane and I’ve been mourning it ever since. However in my most recent House Of Fraser order I had to order one and I’m so happy to have it back.  I also repurchased my Nars Creamy Concealer which I have been running low on.

I’ve spoken about both products before so this isn’t so much of a review but more of an update to let you know I still love both products.

I never thought that Chanel Vita Lumiere Aqua Foundation would be for me as everyone says it’s a light coverage foundation so I was surprised by just how much coverage it actually offers. I do need a little bit of concealer with it but I find it’s a light-medium coverage that is perfect for spring/summer. It has a really lovely natural finish but I do have to moisturise quite a bit before hand as I do have drier skin.

On to Nars Creamy Concealer in Custard which has been a favourite since I first tried it two years ago. I really love this concealer for days where I’m in a bit of a rush as it offers quite a lot of coverage with little work and it doesn’t cake easily either. It also works great on days where I want a fuller coverage base although I sometime do team it with a colour corrector or a brightening concealer to add extra radiance to the skin. It’s a great staple concealer that I am never without!

YSL packaging is always something special but the Kiss & Love collection is even more beautiful than usual, it’s truly a collectors item and I think I might have spent a whole entire day just staring at it.

The collection is made up of a beautiful palette, four lipsticks and the classic Touche Eclat. I almost feel a bit silly writing this post as I haven’t used the products but I also don’t plan to, I’m simply going to add them to my collection of pretty items that I will probably never use.

I don’t have the palette but it looks like a perfect, wearable palette for the eye, lips and cheek. The Touche Eclat is a product that I actually have a few tubes of but in the original gold packaging, it’s not a product I reach for daily but it’s a great product to use to highlight and add luminosity to the face. I also have the lipstick in Le Nu, a fuchsia shade with the lipstick print embossed in the bullet and on the cap but again it’s been too pretty to use!

I actually have the leopard print limited edition packaging from 2013 and I’m pretty sad that I missed out of the polka dot one from last year but I will be making the effort to collected any limited edition Touche Eclat from now on.

The collection is available nationwide  November 4th but I would act quickly as I suspect it might sell out. It’s a beautiful present for any makeup addict for Christmas but it’s also a really beautiful product to add to your collection or to your makeup bag.

Will you be adding this stunning collection to your own collection or to your makeup bag?

I simply can’t pass Duty Free without at least picking up a MAC lipstick, this time I picked up two perfect for summer and a few other bits. I’ve shared my opinion on my MAC palette here of you missed that. Sadly I don’t have any other holidays planned but I am pretty much mentally planning my next World Duty Free haul, it’ll include a few more MAC lipsticks, of course! What’s your favourite thing to pick up at Duty Free?

I’m not always very good at getting ready on time, I like to spend an extra 10 minutes in the bath and catch up on YouTube videos. I then panic 15 minutes before I have to leave the house because I still need to get dressed, dry my hair and do my makeup. I then spend 10 minutes trying to find my hair dryer, deciding what to wear and working out which makeup products I can get on the quickest whilst still hoping to look presentable.

Luckily Clinique have a new foundation to help me when I spend a little too much time relaxing in the morning. The new Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Primer is the perfect 2-in-1 product for days when I need to get ready quickly but don’t want to compromise on finish and coverage.

I can apply it quickly with either my fingers or even the doe foot applicator and then go back in under my eyes and on any blemishes as a concealer. It covers everything really well without feeling heavy and the lightweight formula means it works particularly well under the eyes.

It blends easily and creates a flawless canvas whilst the breathable formula with dual-sphere particles absorb excess oils and add hydration depending on what the skin requires. I’m really impressed that I can apply this without much thought about moisturisers and powders, without having to worry about it clinging to dry patches or becoming too oily.

The applicator is unlike any other which I have seen and the doe foot means I can apply dots of foundation on the face quickly and blend it in. I then go back to cover any smaller imperfections and achieve the amount of coverage I want.

My favourite thing about this foundation is the finish, I love that I can easily achieve a flawless complexion which last all day but is still quite natural and demi-matte.

The new Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer is out now for £25 from Clinique. I wear shade 7 Cream Chamois and spend far too much time relaxing in the morning.

For skin beyond flawless. That lasts all day.

Nudestix is a brand which launched earlier this year and got everyone talking. Although we’ve seen lots of pencils hit the beauty market recently in the form of chubby sticks, this brand is all about the pencils. This means all you need is half a dozen pencils and no brushes to quickly achieve your make-up looks. But can Stix and pencils really replace our traditional powders blushers and pot concealers?
I’ll start with my least favourite product, the Magnetic Eye Colour in Night, it isn’t actually a bad product however I found it was a little thicker than I had liked which lead me to have to create a smokier line than I would have liked but it is very dark and although creamy to apply, it sets lasting all day/night.

The other three products the Concealer Pencil, Lip + Cheek Pencil and the Eye Pencil however are products I would happily keep in my makeup bag for touch-up throughout the day and to take my make-up from day to night. The Eye Pencil in Smoke is perfect if you want to create an effortless eye look on-the-go, it easy to apply, blend with your finger or use the smudge brush. The Lip + Cheek Pencil in Love is a great colour for the lips but looks equally as beautiful on the cheeks and saves the time wasted on worrying if your blush and lipstick match.

The standout product however is the Concealer Pencil which I use in Light 3, at the end of the day my makeup starts to fade and this can really help wake up my base and would be my desk essential before leaving for drinks. I use a little under my eyes and around my nose to conceal darkness and redness as well in the corner of my eyes and under my brow bone to highlight. It’s super creamy, easy to apply and blend, I think I’ll be keeping this one in my bag for daily touch-ups.
