Happy Friday! Happy Black Friday! & Happy Thanks Giving if you celebrated yesterday!
It’s time for my yearly round up of Black Friday deals but this year I want to encourage you to get a good deal but only on items you actually need. It’s a great time to get a good deal on your Christmas presents but remember that if the company tempts you in to buy something you don’t need the only person getting a good deal is them. Buy only what you need and only within your means.
I don’t have a super cleaver way to organise this so I’ve listed all the shops in alphabetical order but toward the end of this blog post products which are on offer.
I’ll be updating every few hours with more deals/retailers so be sure to check back!
Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you’re weeks are all going well
Before the weekend rolls along I wanted to make sure I shared a little gift guide with you all for Father’s Day as it’s rare I get to talk about Men’s products and it’s a nice excuse. Here in the UK Father’s Day is this Sunday so there are just a few more days to pick up your gifts.
Fragrance is such a stable gift, especially if you know the persons favourite/taste quite well. Paco Rabanne 1 Million remains a best seller but if you want something slightly different then there is the new1 Million Lucky which is a slightly sweeter version of the original and marks 10 years since the launch of the classic 1 Million. One which my boyfriend wears and which I love is Paco Rabano Invictus and this year they have launched Invictus Aqua which is a fresher take on the original and which is perfect for summer! As I’ve spoken about before Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Eau Fraiche do a yearly limited edition fragrance, this year the collaboration is with Parisian Graffiti Artist Andre Saraiva. The fun bottle shows ‘Mr A.’ Showing off his muscles! However, if you’re looking for a gift set over a single fragrance then check out this set fromL’occitane Aromatic Collection, it has a shower gel, fragrance and deodorant and is perfect for a more traditional man with warm masculine notes.
If you’re buying for someone that likes to travel then I think a suitcase is a great option. I have a few nicer suitcases which I love and really makes packing a little more enjoyable. My most recent one is from American Touristerand they have some many different size, style and colour options, you’ll really be able to find the best one for your Father or Partner. Cristiano Ronaldo even has a range with them so if they’re a football fan then I think that one is a great option, who doesn’t want to travel like Ronaldo?
Everyone needs a great toothbrush but they’re often a little on the pricier side which is why I think they make great gifts, the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Deep Clean is a really sleek luxurious one which is also their best whitening toothbrush.
Head to toe grooming is definitely on the rise with men so there are a two face, body and hair grooming kits which are both great! The Philips Advance Styling & Precision kit and the Braun Multi Grooming Kitfor men- they both come with everything from nose hair trimers to precision chasers to combs to groom your hair.
Here’s my stupidly last minute gift guide. I hope most of you have finished your Christmas shopping but if not here are some final ideas for any beauty lover, which you will now have to buy in store as it’s Christmas Eve tomorrow.
Also, if you’ve finished all your Christmas shopping (well done!), it’s also a great list for items to watch out for in the sale- often gift sets are discounted and you can bag a real bargain.
I have some great picks for makeup lovers and all of these are very much staying in my own makeup collection and won’t be gifted because they’re just too good! My number one pick is this Charlotte Tilbury Lip Achieve, I love Charlotte Tilbury as a Christmas gift and I think any makeup lover would love to see this under their tree! It contains three very wearable shades and for £60 it’s a little pricey but a real treat! Another beautiful set is this one from Laura Geller, which is a fabulous brand which I really want to explore more next year and this set has some of their hero products which will add a sparkle to the festive period.
I think palettes make great gifts so I’ve picked four; Too Faced Pretty Little Planner- which is just the absolute cutest, Benefit Complexionista Face Palette for anyone looking to master their base in the new year, Chantecaille L’Arbre Illuminé Palette the most beautiful luxury blush palette and Smashbox Create & Transform Eye, Lip & Face Palette for all their makeup needs!
Home fragrance may not be the most personal gift but it’s an easy gift which works for couples as well as for those people you’re really struggling to buy from. Jo Malone is always a stunning gift, these Molton Brown reed diffusers are a great pick as is this new Elemis Soothing Glow Candle.
For anyone after a little relaxation after a busy year I have some fabulous picks! There are two sleep sets with Sleep Sprays which I love equally; This Works Sleep Set and Neal’s Yard Beauty Sleep Bed Time Collection- both amazing! I also spotted this Silk Slip Sleep Mask which is a lovely luxurious sleep related gift for anyone of any age.
I love a bit of Philosphy at Christmas time and I can’t wait for this evenings bath where I’ll definitely be using this Christmas Cookie Shower Gel which would also make a great gift! Alternaticely for a bigger gift this Philosophy Pure Grace Body And Fragrance Gift Set smells amazing!
I love gifting skincare and usually pick the brand which I know the person really loves. My top pick would be this Charlotte Tilbury The Gift of Goddess Skin Travel Kit as it’s a luxury gift made more affordable as it’s a travel set. It’s great for anyone that wants to trail Charlotte Tilbury Skincare or some that does travel a lot. Another two great kits are the Elemis Brilliantly Beautiful Set and the Liz Earle Route to Radiance set which has a great selection of products.
Fragrance is a great but tricky gift to give and I would try to stick to something I already know the person loves or something similar which is why sets are great. You can get them something they already love with an extra body cream too such as the DKNY Nectar Set or Nina Ricci Luna set. Equally special edition or new variations of fragrances are nice alternatives such as Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Limited Edition or Juicy Couture Glace if you know they like the originals. However if you’re looking for something new my current favourite is Glossier, Glossier you- I’ve been getting so many compliments on it and I love it!
Really hope that was helpful for any of you last minute shoppers and more importantly I really hope you all have an amazing Christmas.
And I’ll be back Boxing Day with the best Boxing Day sales!
With Christmas Eve being already next week it’s time to start wrapping up our Christmas shopping but if you’re still after a few bits, which won’t break the bank or the most beautiful stocking fillers than stay tuned as Ted Baker have exactly what you need!
If you’ve caught any of my Christmas Gift Guides than you know I love the Boots 3 for 2 offers over the festive season, especially all the beautiful rose gold offerings from Ted Baker. The Porcelain Rose bath, body and cosmetics collection has a vintage glamour feel with the large roses print and added elements of rose gold, the collection has a very luxury look but at an affordable price.
My favourite has to be the Ted Baker Pouting Petals Lip Gift (£14), a trio of lipsticks, packaged very similarly to one of my favourite high-end lipstick brands with rose gold ridged casing. The nude, pink and red shades are great from day to night and are really creamy! The nude shade has made it into my handbag and it won’t be leaving anytime soon. It’s also worth noting that the Ted Baker cosmetics are only around at Christmas so be sure to get your hands on them now!
If you’re looking to add a little sparkle to someones life then the Ted Baker Shimmer Body Wash (£8.50) is perfect. It smells amazing and adds the perfect amount of shimmer to help skin look glowy this part season.
A great gift everyone would love is the Ted Baker Glittering Gem Soap Collection (£8.50), another trio but this time of nude pink gem shaped soaps. It’s a great gift for those hard-to- buy-for people and at only £8.50 it’s a very affordable price point too.
If you’re stuck for secret Santa ideas or need a few more affordable stocking fillers than the Ted Baker Little Petal Body Sprays (£3) are fab! They come in cute tree ornament style packaging and as they’re 50ml they’re perfect handbag size! I have Opulent Petal and Petal Blush Pink which both smell amazing; Blush Pink is a soft floral scent with notes of Jasmine, patchouli and Neroli where as Opulent Petal is a little more of a woody-floral with notes of jasmine, orange blossom, exotic ylang and musk.
I like to think that I’m typically a good gift giver and I do put a bit of effort into it. Buying gifts can be so hard, especially for that person that has everything and especially at Christmas when we’re often buying quiet a few gifts and are on a budget so here are my tips…
You don’t have to actually start buying the gifts now but you should at least start planning. Write a list of everything that you want to buy a gift for, from your boyfriend to the postman and everyone in-between. It’s also worth working out a budget for everyone so you don’t over spend.
This is my top tip as simply going out and buying a gift for someone on a whim is very tricky, especially if you want to make it special. Write down any ideas which pop into your head for each individual person and look out for hints or mentions of items or stores from that person. For example, if your friend mentions she’s been looking for the perfect purse add it to your list of potential gifts for her. I recently saw a few little girls wearing the cutest faux fur coats which I think my younger cousin would look adorable in so I’ve added that to my list of what to buy for her.
Buy at the right time
It’s Black Friday in just a few days, look out for great offers- I’ll be writing a blog post all about it!
There’s something super special about a personalised gift, I think it’s because it (typically) proves it wasn’t bought last minute. Also, personalisation no longer has to cost a lot of money, in fact a lot of stores offer it free of charge during the Christmas period. Alternatively I always find that notonthehighstreet.com offer some beautiful affordable pieces, from jewellery to wall art.
I’m not saying spend lots of money and this idea doesn’t apply to everyone but it’s perfect for the person that has everything. Buy a smaller but more luxurious gift and this works even on a smaller budget. If you’re spending looking to spend £25 often a Chanel lipstick can be a little more of a special gift than a £25 pair of shoes.
Put some effort in
This one is tricky and it’s so easy to just buy something the person will kind-of-like but that defeats the purpose. If you want to buy them a gift for someone it’s probably because they’re someone special so put in the effort and get them something they’ll really like.
