It seems it is the products I use the most that I never mention on my blog, these are the products I use (almost) every single day and couldn’t live without. They’re not overly exciting and I may change from brand to brand sometimes but I though I would share what I am currently using.

When it comes to deodorant I am not too fussy over which one I use as long as it smells okay, that said I do prefer a roll on and have been using Nivea Pearl & Beauty for a while. As the glass bottle isn’t very travel/handbag friendly I also use the Soft & Gentle Orange Blossom & Grapefruit Spray deodorant which lasts all day and smells great.

After washing my hair  every morning I couldn’t live without my GHD blow dryer… I love it! I have been using it for years now, it has all the settings I need and is powerful, helping me dry my hair as quickly as possible. I’ve also been loving the Airmotion Hair Brush to untangle my hair both whilst wet and dry. My only other hair essential would be Batiste Dry Shampoo which I think I have been using to close to ten years, I have never been so loyal to anything!

When I don’t have time for a professional wax I usually just use a disposable razor and find the mens ones to be much better than the women’s. My favourite is the Gillette Mach 3 Disposable Razors as it never irritate my skin and I find it to be good quality for the price. For my eyebrow I adore the Tweezerman tweezer and can’t believe it has taken me so long to get a pair! I’ve also been using the SweetEase Face Waxing Kit for my upper lip as I find them to be easier to use then most at home wax strips.

The biggest essentials are, of course, a toothbrush and toothpaste- I have been using the Professional Whitening Toothpaste and matching toothbrush from White Wash Laboratories. Although I don’t think there is a huge difference between toothpaste and toothbrushes, I have actually really been enjoying these two and would say my teeth are looking a little whiter.

What are your beauty essentials?

A few weeks ago when I spent a couple of days in York (hotel review here) I decided to take a quick photo of what I took with me in my toiletry bag. I grabbed all of my go-to, easy to travel with products and ran out of the door so fast I forgot a moisturiser (luckily I had a great face mask!) I obviously took the standard razor, toothbrush and toothpaste but we’ll brush over the boring part.

Haircare
I’ve been using the Nioxin Shampoo and Conditioner £19.60 for quite a while now and would highly recommend it if you are looking to strengthen your hair. Luckily they are quite small as a little goes a long way, I follow this up with the Nioxin Scalp Treatment on damp, towel dried hair.

For post shower I took with me the Philip Kingsley Daily Damage Defence Conditioning Spray £7.50 I’ve been using this product daily for about a year. This is a big statement for me as I never use the same products daily, much less for a whole year but this really helps detangle my hair whilst protecting it when I use heat. It also last a really long time I’ve been using this mini size at home as well for a few months now. I also took the Bumble and bumble Thickening Spray £20.50 (for full size) although having basically finished this whole bottle I am still not too sure how I feel about this product. I’ve got a little mini size which makes it a great product to travel with and although I do think it adds a little bit of volume I’m not sure it’s enough to make me repurchase. I’ve instead got my eye on the Bumble and bumble thickening mousse £21.50 which I think would give me the volume I really want.

My two emergency hair products are Batiste Dry Shampoo £1.99 incase I wake up to late to wash my hair/can’t be bothered and the Bumble and bumble Dryspun Finish £21.50It seems everyone raves about this and I actually love it too. If you have fine hair or simply want a little more volume and texture this is a great product to reach for. I’ve had this can for a while now and it somehow still has product in it although I do think I will be repurchasing it as soon as I run out.

My two go to hair brushes are the Michael Mercier Brush £14.95 for untangling my hair daily as I feel it doesn’t break my hair but does a much better job that a Tangle Teezer and the MoroccanOil Medium Barrel Brush £13.85 for blow drying.

Skincare
I really didn’t get together a great skincare collection for this day but I just wanted something I knew worked. Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser £14.75 is my usual travel choice as I know it remove all my makeup quickly and easily. I also packed the Liz Earle Gentle Exfoliator £14 and Brightening Mask  £14.75 simply as I had two mini sizes. As I managed to forget my face moisturiser I used the Brightening Mask in the morning just before doing my makeup to help prepare my skin.

Beauty Extras
I decided on Paco Rabanne Lady Million and Diesel Loverdose Tattoo as my perfume as I’d happily wear it day and night. Usually I’d take my mini perfume samples with me but as I didn’t have a lot of luggage I felt I could justify a bigger bottle of perfume.

I actually didn’t end up getting a chance to fake tan or paint my nails but I thought I would take them just in case. I have been loving He-shi Liquid Tan £31.45 recently and I think it deserves it’s own post soon but it’s pretty dark but applies easily with no lines or mistakes. The Bourjois Magic Nail polish remover £4.99 is also a must have as it is so quick and convenient; smaller than a normal nail polish remover and you don’t need to pack extra cotton wool. I packed my Butter London Nail Foundation and Top Coat as they’re are my current favourite, an OPI shade and my deodorant.

It wasn’t the most organised packing but I got all the key and essential items I needed for one night. What do you usually take away with you for a weekend away?

Babyliss Big Hair is one of those products everyone talks about and somehow I had never tried (I have a long list of those products) so I was super excited to try the New Big Hair!
I love voluminous hair but sadly my hair is usually flat and boring however with the New Big Hair you get big hair and a perfect and quick blow dry. It  is a 60mm Ceramic barrel with 3 heat settings and ionic condition to leave hair shiny.
I like to rough dry my hair first before going in with this, starting from the bottom and working my way up in sections. It rotates left and right which means you can hold is any way. Although it is quite big it is also very light making it easy to use.
The New Big Hair by Babyliss is availbale from Argos with the rest of the Babyliss Big Hair range.

Have you tried the Babyliss Big hair range?

Everyone is releasing one-off beauty boxes at the moment and Sass & Company thought they would also get in on the action!

Unlike most other boxes you are told which products are inside the box before you buy them and you can even chose which product is best suited to you. Sas & Co look after Michel Mercier and their brush is the main product within this box. You get to chose if you want the brush for fine hair, normal hair or thick hair. I personally went for the normal hair brush as I already have the one for fine hair and thought it would be interesting to do a comparison. I also think the one aimed at finer hair isn’t strong enough to take my very tough knots out so am interested to see how this one compares. Along with the Michel Mercier hair brush their are 5 perfume samples; you don’t get any choice as to which ones you get but there are some really nice ones inside.

The five perfumes consist of a John Galliano, a Grigioperla Nero, two La Perla perfumes (which are all sample size) and a Kim Kardashian Perfume which is a roller ball. The stand out perfume for me is the Kim Kardashian one as I think the fact it is a roller ball makes it very useful. I don’t usually love celebrity perfumes as I think most smell the same with an overly sweet/floral scent however this one which is her debut perfume is far more unique.

And the best thing about this box I hear you ask?! Well it retails for £14.95 which is exactly the same price as the brush by itself and you get a few more perfume samples thrown in!

I would really recommend looking into this box- I love my Michel Mercier Brush and use it every single day! It is perfect for anyone that struggles with untangling their hair (like myself)

The box is available for £14.95 online  and if you are still a little unsure why not read my review here (link)
