Last week when I opened the envelope I actually squealed at how beautiful this colour is. It’s part of the new Illamasqua Summer 2014 collection which is made up of 3 Matte Lip Liquids and 4 Velvet Blushers.

I’ve seen a lot of new liquid lipsticks pop-up on the market but this one has to be the most vibrant and exciting colour. They have an intense colour, highly pigmented and long lasting that said the first application was a real struggle.

It comes with an actually really nice brush so it is very tempting to apply straight onto the lips however I found this product to simply be too heavy for that and I was left with too much product on my lips which was not only uncomfortable but didn’t look great either.

Since the colour is so beautiful I carried on trying and discovered that this product work better dabbed into the lip. As it is such a pigmented product you still get a very vibrant colour that is wearable. It also last really well even through drinking and eating although as most matte products do it has a tendency to cling to some dry patches. Exotic is also a beautiful orange colour which I would highly recommend for summer.

Have you tried any liquid lipstick and if so which are your favourite?

I have no idea how it is April however I have been trying some great products last month which I thought I would share.

Skincare wise I have been loving the Sarah Chapman range, the Ultimate cleanser is hands down my favourite, there is something beautifully luxurious about it which makes it perfect for days when you may be a little more tired and need some pampering. The Dynamic Defence Day cream is also one of my favourites as it hydrates the skin without leaving the skin feeling greasy as it sinks in so well and the SPF 15is a huge plus now spring is here. (Full review here)

A product I never thought I would like, let alone love, is the Bourjois CC Cream. I can achieve just the right amount of coverage for everyday without looking like I am wearing much makeup at all (Review here). I’ve also discovered the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes which has become my everyday mascara, it is very black and gives great volume with little effort (Review here).

On my cheeks I have been alternating between MAC Well Dressed and the Clinique Cheek Pop in 03. Berry Pop. Both are an easy to wear pink that go with most makeup looks, they have a slight sheen which is very flattering. MAC Well Dressed it a little lighter whereas the Clinique one does require a light hand (Review here). I will undoubtedly be using these non-stop this month too. I have also discovered this Illamasqua Sculpting Powder Duo which is great for on the go but also houses the most perfect contour shade. To apply it I have been using the double ended Precision Cheek & Eye brush from Bare Mineral as the size makes it ideal for contouring and applying blush to the apples of the cheek.

In both my eyebrows and on my eyes I have been using this MUA Pro Brow palette. In my eyebrows I use the lighter brown which is great as it adds definition without making them darker which isn’t what I want. As eyeshadows I think the whole palette is great especially as the shades are matte and very natural, you can achieve a perfect understand but still quite smokey eye.

I’ve also been burning this Thalgo Candle in Polynesia as it has a soothing Vanilla Scent.

What were your favourite products for the month of March?

I haven’t shared my everyday makeup on here in a couple of months but have recently introduced a few new products which I think deserve little mini reviews and I think this is quite a nice way to do it.

I recently discovered the YSL CC Creme which comes in three different colours and although I will give them all a good go I’ve been using apricot. I’ve got a more in-depth review on this product coming up soon so I won’t give too much away but I do really like it as a primer although I don’t think I could wear it by itself.  I’ve also gone back to the Makeup Forever HD Foundation which I’ve been in love with for years although I decided not to repurchase it for a few months but I am so glad I have this baby back. It’s hard to purchase here in the UK (PAM or now Sephora online) but I believe it to be the perfect almost matte foundation with very buildable coverage. Concealer wise I’m still in love with the Maybelline Eye Eraser which I often layer on top of the Origins Plantscription Concealer as it offers more coverage.

I have been reaching almost daily for the Benefit Porefessional Agent Zero Shine as I just think it is quick and easy to use as it comes with it’s own brush and never looks cakey. A recent discovery that I haven’t put down is the Illamasqua Sculpting Duo and although I don’t use the highlight daily the contour shade has become a staple!

Amongst the new products there still remain some products that I have been using for a while now such as my Urban Decay Original Naked Palette, it took me a while to work out if I preferred Naked 3 and after much deliberation I have come back to the original one. I also need to repurchase the Maybelline Eye Eraser which I used up very quickly which just shows my love and haven’t put down all of my Clarins Lip Perfectors– hands down the best lipglosses on the market.

As I am sure most of you have noticed the ASOS sale has started a little earlier than most other shops. As it isn’t often you see beauty items on sale (well in comparison to clothes) I thought I would edit the sale down to my top 9 picks.

1. Sophie Webster Nail Wraps £5.50 // Illamasqua Snow Glitter £11 // Lord & Berry Lip Colour £11 // OPI I snow you Love me £8.50 // Benefit  Hot to Trot £19.50// Pixi eyeshadow set £18 // Hersheson Ion Brush £17.50 // Makeup Bag £6.50 // OPI Minnie Style £8.50

The sale isn’t actually a whole load cheaper, just a few pounds here and there but there are still some great products especially if you are after some great Nail polish colours. I actually have these Nail Rock Wraps and am saving them as they are my absolute favourite. I’ve actually had this Illamasqua Snow Glitter polish on my wishlist on my eye as it just looks like magical snow and unlike any other nail polish I own. 2013 has come around far quicker than expected, hasn’t it?! Nivea are attempting to break a lip-locking record this New Years Eve for the longest kissing chain on Twitter and you can get involved! I thought I would also share with you my #DaretoKiss lipstick of choice…

I think I will be wearing Liable by Illamasqua this evening although it is a beautiful orange-red colour it is also very Matte and needs an amazing lip balm underneath!

With lipsticks I think it is always very important to prime the lips with a hydrating lip balm especially in winter when lips are prone to drying! The Nivea Original Lip Butter has been my product of choice recently and it leaves my lips lovely and soft! The actually come in three scents; Caramal Cream, Raspberry Rose and the original all leaving lips feeling very smooth perfect to team with a lipstick or simply to wear by itself. I think the most important time to apply lip balm is just before bed as your lips have all night to soak it up and you then make up with amazing looking lips.

Who are you hoping to kiss today at midnight?
Let me know below along with your email/twitter and you will be in with a chance to win the set of Nivea Lip Butters.
Giveaway is UK only and will end at Midnight 6th January 2013
