Since we’ve got just a few more weeks worth of summer I thought I would share my favourite nail polishes, I’ll be taking them through to brighten up my autumn days but will be alternating with some more vampy autumnal shades. The stand out winner has to be Models Own Beach Bag, nothing else compares and I’m already in need of a new one.

Whats been your stand out summer nail polish shade?

I am completely baffled by the fact we are half way through the year, how is that possible? I have found myself not really wearing quite as much makeup now that it’s getting warmer

Maybelline Forever Uptown Blue
I love this shade at the moment and have been wearing it on my fingers and toes. It also lasts a good 6/7 with no chips which is a huge plus! (Review Here)

Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette £29
Oh yes another eyeshadow palette, what can I say, I’m obsessed. This one has is probably top 3 palette status and I will be taking it away with me this month. Its versatile with a mixture of mattes and shimmers but since they are all largely brown it means I’ll actually use them all!

Liz Earle Brow and Liner Brush £12.50
It’s probably not going to change your life but this has to be the best eyebrow brush I have tried. It has a perfect angled brush on one end and a spoolie on the other and no silly lash comb. I haven’t used anything else since getting this and panic any time I misplace it, reasonably affordable as far as brushes go and you do technically get two.

Dove Refreshing Care Dry Shampoo
I never thought I would find something to rival Batiste Dry Shampoo but this is a good one especially if you have darker hair as it isn’t too white. It has quite a nice clean scent and does the job without being too powdery.

Weleda Skin Food £9.95
I had an extreme case of dry skin last month due to an irritation from a product and this really saved me from that. It hydrated it really well without stinging or causing more damage, after a few days the skin was fully moisturised and back to normal with no scabbiness.

Radical Skin Perfecting Screen SPF30 £38
I spoke about this in a recent post and it has to be my number one SPF as it is super light and sinks into the skin with no effort meaning there is no need to worry about white casts. (Review here)

Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina £51
Still a little surprised I love this as much as I do but it’s the perfect elegant scent without being too grown up and the bottle is stunning too. (Review here)

This season Maybelline is bringing our two sets of polishes; pastels and brights.

For me it’s all about the pastels and I instantly fell in love with Uptown Blue. It’s a beautiful pastel blue which dries to a gel like finish. The brush is wide making application quick and easy, I would say it takes a long time to dry completely but once dry they don’t chip although I did get a little tip wear which I think is to expected.

This polish has gone straight into my top 5 for spring/summer this year although I also have my eye on Pink in the Park which is an equally beautiful pink.

Maybelline Forever Strong Super Stay nail polishes are available for £4.09.

This month I have really started to try new products more than ever and have found some really great products from inexpensive products to slightly higher end products.

The two foundations I have been loving are Armani Luminous Silk and L’oreal True Match. There is obviously a huge price difference but they are quite similar although the L’oreal may be slightly more matte. I adore the Luminous Silk as it gives the perfect finish (although I suspect it may be breaking me out) but for a fraction of the price L’Oreal is a great alternative. I especially like using the True Match foundation as I like to apply foundation with the Real Technique sponge which does naturally soak up a little bit of product so a less expensive product is better in my opinion.

As a concealer/highlighter I’ve been loving the Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer as it doesn’t look cakey at all and is perfect for bringing light to the face. To set it all I’ve been using the new Benefit Porefessional Agent Anti-shine before contouring with the B Cosmetics Contour Kit which is surprisingly good. I have also rediscovered Angel Lipstick by Mac which is the perfect pale pink!

Other favourites are the Vaseline Spray & Go and the Soap & Glory Smoothie Body Butter which has helped me keep my resolution to always moisturise. I was also pleasantly surprised by how much I love Bumble and bumble Pret-a-powder, not only does it smell amazing but it’s great at plumping up the hair without being sticky. The Orly Won’t Chip top coat has also been a great addition, the ultimate top coat for super glossy and polished nails.

Today’s post is written by Karla from Beauty and Beyond who is kindly sharing her current favourite makeup products…

Hi! Im Karla from Beauty and Beyond… and Sabrina has kindly let me guest post on her blog so I thought I’d show you my favourite make-up products which I’m using right now.

1. Witch skin primer
I bought this when I had a really bad out break of spots and didn’t want to stop wearing make-up to try to get rid of them. This primer contains witch hazel which is an anti-blemish ingredient and it also acts as a base for you to apply your make-up. It really helped to clear up my skin and I’ve been using it ever since!
2. Bourjois Clubbing mascara
I’ve only recently started using this and it’s amazing! It gives amazing length to your lashes and it builds up nicely to give the look of lovely thick, long lashes.
3. Bourjois smoky eye palette
I’m rubbish at building up eyeshadow colours and creating smoky looks so these palettes are right up my street. They contain three co-ordinating shades and on the back it has a guide on how to use them to create the ‘smoky’ look. The finish of them is inbetween a matte and a slight shimmer and they are perfect for everyday wear or to create a more intense look for evening wear.

4. Maybelline gel eyeliner
I bought this after hearing amazing stuff about it from other bloggers and they weren’t wrong. It’s really easy to apply whether you want a thin or a thicker line, it’s easy to build up and it is highly pigmented – it is a proper black!

5. 17 mirror shine lipsticks
Once again these were products which everyone raves about. I have 3 shades and my favourite has to be Belle. They give a nice sheer finish and there are shades for every mood! I use these all the time and will definitely purchase more shades.

So there we have it my favourite make-up products at the moment. Please let me know if you’ve tried any of these and what products you’re loving at the moment and thank you to Sabrina for allowing me to do this guest post!
Thanks so much for the guest post, I must try the Bourjois Mascara as I usually love them! Check out Karla’s blog here.
