new beauty productsOrigins Warm Down Lava Scrub
I’ll admit that I think this is a little bit gimmicky, I don’t know if you really need a body scrub designed especially for post gym but I have been using this one for a few weeks and have been loving it. This is the first body warming body scrub I have ever used and the shower-activated Volcanic Ash which warms on contact with water is suppose to help ease muscle tension as well as purify. I’m not too sure if it really does that but it’s a beautifully gentle scrub which I find to be super luxurious and relaxing because of the warming sensation. It’s a little more than I usually spend on a scrub but it’s the perfect pamper product and I really look forward to using it.

Goldwell Kerasilk Repower Volume Blow Dry Spray
I have been loving salon designed hair products recently and my most recent discovery is the Goldwell Kerasilk Repower range. My favourite product is this Volume Blow Dry spray as it has heat protection but also adds volume to my hair without being sticky and difficult to work in.

SinfulColors X Kylie Jenner
If you’re a Kylie Jenner fan and want to buy something from her beauty empire but don’t fancy paying the custom charges for a lip kit than you’ll be happy hear that her collaboration with SinfulColors is available for just £3 from Superdrug. I went for the colour Miss Chief which is a dusty lavender/pink shade with tiny specs of silver shimmer which is luckily barely noticeable on the nail and is just a typical me colour.

Jo Malone London Carrot Blossom & Fennel
This might be a big statement but I think this might be my favourite Jo Malone scent ever and it’s really really grown on my since the first time I tried it. It’s light and summery with (as you’d imagine) hints of carrot and fennel as well as apricot and white musk. It’s a great travel friendly size which I think might make it my summer holiday scent.

Soft & Gentle 2 in 1 Shower and Shave mousse
Not the most glamorous product but essential and it’s been living in my shower for the last couple of weeks. It’s designed for intimate skin and pH balanced but have been using it even to shave my legs and found it to work really well without irritating my skin. If you ever have issues with irritation shaving the bikini line (although it’s probably worth switching to waxing if you do) then this is a great product to try as it’s the only shaving cream I’ve seen designed with this area in mind.

When John Lewis asked me to try some of the products from InStyle Magazine’s Best Beauty Buy’s 2015 of course I said yes. They have compiled a list of 103 beauty products, voted for by 105 beauty experts.

There are some real skincare treats in the list, including the Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask which won Best Hydrating Mask and which I am most excited to try- partly because it’s worth a whopping £95.50, so it must be good to be considered worth the money. Unsurprisingly Origins also won best Spot Treatment with Origins Super Spot Remover Blemish Treatment which I would agree is the best and I am excited to also try the Origins No Puffery Cooling Roll-On For Puffy Eyes which won Best Eye De-Puffer. It has a metal roller ball which helps instantly cool the eye area and deflates puffy eyes.

Another product I have heard great things about but haven’t yet had a chance to try is the Clinique Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector which although won Best Age-Spot Treatment apparently works wonders on acne scarring too. Also from Clinique and winner of Best For Dark Circles is the Clinique Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector which I find really does lighten the under eye area but is still very light and cooling. A product which has recently entered my wishlist and which I’m sure I will be talking about more soon is the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant which won Best Facial Exfoliator and is unlike any other I have tried, as it is a fine powder texture and has actually won this category 11 times. I haven’t tried much from Organic ranges so I’m excited to give The Organics Pharmacy a try as it won Best Eco/Organic Range and starts at just £3.95.

In the Bath & Body category the winner of Best Body Oil is Elemis Frangipani Monoi Body Oil which comes in the most beautiful bottle and can apparently be used on anything from your hair to cuticles. Winner of Best Shower Gel is Ren Moroccan Rose Otto Body Wash which I’ve used in the past; it has a beautiful scent and feels like very luxurious.

Winner of the Best Mascara is Lancome Hypnose Waterproof Mascara and is also one of my personal all time favourites as it adds the most perfect volume. I’ve been using the Guerlain Terracotta Moisturising Bronzing Powder, winner of Best Bronzer and I can really see why it won as it is non-orange and really natural looking. Winner of Best Primer is Laura Mercier Foundation Primer and although it possibly isn’t my favourite it is a good one. As if to confirm that I really should try the Bare Minerals Original Foundation it won Best Mineral Base as is to be expected as it seems to be loved by everyone.

Really excited to dig in and give them all a go since they are all winners! You can find the list os 103 products in this month’s Instyle Magazine’s Best Beauty Buys 2015 Supplement- would love to know if you end up trying some of the products which are all currently 10% off at John Lewis.

I have been struggling with my skin for last couple of weeks; it’s usually anywhere between normal and extremely dehydrated but sadly at the moment it’s at the latter. I have been trying out a few products trying to keep it looking healthy and feeling less tight so here are some of my favourite additions.

The most recent cleanser to make it long terms into my skincare is the Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm (£46). I have to start by mentioning the price, it’s £46, so not very affordable but it’s worth the money if you are struggling to find a great all year round cleanser. It’s made with Moor Mud which gives the cleanser it’s unique natural black colour, the rich balm cleanses the skin without stripping it which is why I have been loving it. It’s also very mild and gentle meaning it removes all my makeup, even in the eye area without irritating it at all.

I’m still some what new to eye cream but I know that if I don’t start now I will regret it in a few years time so I opted for quite a light on, the Liz Earle Superskin Eye & Lip Treatment (£27.50). I was a bit worried as it is both a lip and eye treatment but I actually don’t think it works that well on the lips so I’ve been reserving it simply for the eye area. It’s light but still hydrates beautifully and I love that it’s so cooling, perfect for tired eyes.

Having finished my previous moisturiser I’ve not gone for the Origins Plantscriptions SPF 25 (£48) as I had heard so many people rave about it. Although this seems like quite a heavy moisturiser in the pot I find that it never leaves my skin greasy as it is oil-free. The SPF 25 is great for the summer but actually probably a little higher than I would usually use in the winter but it does a great job of keeping my skin hydrated.

I always have a bottle of Clarins Blue Orchid (£32) as it is my absolute saviour when my skin is feeling dehydrated, I either use this overnight or occasionally I’ll have a makeup free day and just wear this as I find it really brings my skin back to life. However if your on a bit of a budget the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Serum (£15.75) is reasonably priced and make visible difference on my skin without affecting its sensitivity.

What products have you been enjoying this winter? Stay tuned for my drugstore skincare favourites towards the end of the month.

I haven’t shared my everyday makeup on here in a couple of months but have recently introduced a few new products which I think deserve little mini reviews and I think this is quite a nice way to do it.

I recently discovered the YSL CC Creme which comes in three different colours and although I will give them all a good go I’ve been using apricot. I’ve got a more in-depth review on this product coming up soon so I won’t give too much away but I do really like it as a primer although I don’t think I could wear it by itself.  I’ve also gone back to the Makeup Forever HD Foundation which I’ve been in love with for years although I decided not to repurchase it for a few months but I am so glad I have this baby back. It’s hard to purchase here in the UK (PAM or now Sephora online) but I believe it to be the perfect almost matte foundation with very buildable coverage. Concealer wise I’m still in love with the Maybelline Eye Eraser which I often layer on top of the Origins Plantscription Concealer as it offers more coverage.

I have been reaching almost daily for the Benefit Porefessional Agent Zero Shine as I just think it is quick and easy to use as it comes with it’s own brush and never looks cakey. A recent discovery that I haven’t put down is the Illamasqua Sculpting Duo and although I don’t use the highlight daily the contour shade has become a staple!

Amongst the new products there still remain some products that I have been using for a while now such as my Urban Decay Original Naked Palette, it took me a while to work out if I preferred Naked 3 and after much deliberation I have come back to the original one. I also need to repurchase the Maybelline Eye Eraser which I used up very quickly which just shows my love and haven’t put down all of my Clarins Lip Perfectors– hands down the best lipglosses on the market.

Since the party season is well and truly in full swing (almost coming to an end) I had a quick look around my beauty collection to find my favourite items that keep me going and hopefully looking okay.

Extras: Watch- Marc by Marc Jacobs, Perfume- Estee Lauder Modern Muse, Necklace- Lola & Grace

My makeup doesn’t change too much for a party although I always use a primer to keep my makeup looking its best all night long. My favourite at the moment is the Benefit Porefessional as I find it really helps the longevity of my makeup. I also am permanently attached to my Origins Plantscriptions Concealer and it only leaves my bag when I use it. Christmas and New Year is also a great excuse for a bright bold lip and dramatic lashes. Keep it traditional with a classic red or have fun and go for a bright pink or purple.

For nails I always look for a colour that will be festive but still versatile and that will last. I’ve been loving the Nails Inc Gel Effect Polishes which apply easily, dry quickly, remain shiny and are long lasting. St James is the perfect festive red and Kensington High Street is the ultimate winter shade.

For hair I say the bigger the better, I rely on my Cloud 9 The O heated rollers (also love the Enrapture ones) and a whole load of Bumble and Bumble Dryspun Finish or Pret-a-powder if my hair also needs a little freshening up.

Since my legs/arms don’t come out very much during the winter they always need special attention when they do. I’ve ben using the He-shi Express Liquid Tan teamed with the He-shi Luminous Shimmer perfectly tanned, glowy pins.

After a night out I always reach for the Radical Hydrating Cleanser, it removes all my makeup and feel super luxurious which is exactly what I want just before going to bed after a long night. I often get very dehydrated skin due to all the stress, bad diet choices and alcohol over this time of the year so have been addicted to the Clarins Blue Orchid Face Oil which is a must for dehydrated skin.
