To celebrate the launch of the new DS 3 car I was challenged last week to head to Westfield London and find an outfit inspired by Iris Apfel, the face of New DS 3.
Last Saturday I went down to check out the car which was also in Westfield London and get some inspiration. The DS 3 has all the charm you would expect from a Parisian car and is widely customisable to fit your style and offer maximum comfort.
To celebrate the launch of the new Stylish DS 3 and DS 3 Cabrio they have collaborated with the amazing fashion icon and business woman, Iris Apfel. Her style is avant-garde and possibly not you would typically expect from a 94 year old lady. The fashion icon is known for her bold combinations of patterns, jewellery and accessories as well as her oversized glasses.
Taking inspiration for both Iris Apfel and the DS 3 I headed to the shops to find something that would also fit my style and work with my current wardrobe. I found this Zara dress which I fell in love with, I love the mixture of prints and the bright colours which I actually rarely wear. Although Iris Apfel always opts for flats I love heels so I teamed it with some over the knee heeled boots and I love the look.
I must admit I really fell in love with the car and the Cabrio is particularly impressive!

I’ve been after a perfect pair of boots for a while. I wanted a black leather pair which were high, pointy and able to take any outfit and really dress it up.
I’d seen a few high-end ones but I didn’t want to spend too much and thought the sale was the perfect time to buy a pair. I spotted these on the Dune website for £140 down from £175 which I found was pretty reasonable for a pair of all leather boots. As I ordered them online I was unsure I would love them just as much in real life but I’m happy to say I do!
They’re high but not too high, comfortable (considering) and the quality is fab- I think I’ll be wearing them all winter! I have been trying to invest in slightly more expensive but high quality items which will last me and I think this style is so timeless a versatile. I can team them with jeans and a t-shirt or dress it up with a dress and black tights.
As always I teamed them with a monochrome outfit, a staple black coat, black Topshop Leigh jeans and an old shirt. Surprisingly it was sunny in London so I even needed a pair of sunglasses!
It’s gotten so dark and colder of the last few weeks, which I guess is to be expected since Winter is coming and the shortest day of the year is next week. I’ve been going for a bit of a uniform which consist of black jeans, black boots, a jumper, a coat and a scarf everyday. It’s easy, comfortable and looks some what put together, plus I find that layers are essential as anything too heavy can become too warm very quickly but at least this way it’s easy to remove my scarf and coat.
This coat is a new addition to my wardrobe and from New Look, it’s a great staple as it can be worn with jeans or a dress and still look great. I’ve teamed it with a New Look Jumper and then my everyday jeans, a scarf from last year (still available here) and my favourite boots which have really seen better days and are in desperate need of being replaced.
Over the knee boots seem to be everywhere and although I really love the look of them they aren’t really a timeless piece, therefore I really didn’t want to invest too much money in them. I picked these up from Public Desire and was actually very impressed with their selection, there were a few I really liked. I decided to go for the Janine Over the Knee Boots as I like the heel but it isn’t too high or thin making these quite comfortable.
I thought these would be quite easy to style but I actually found them to be a little tricky especially as I have rather generous thighs, everything I tried on with them other than trousers ended up looking a little more Pretty Woman than I had hoped but I soon discovered that the trick is to keep it quite loose up top. The colour and shape of this dress may not be to everyones taste but I think it works really well with these boots.
I’ve also been getting lots of wear from my Daniel Wellington watch, they’re the perfect timeless piece, use discount code DWSabrina for 15% off all their watches.
It’s getting a little colder now though so I suspect I’ll be layering up the coats in my next outfit…
Since the weather in London has been surprisingly good for September, I have been resisting the temptation to be boring and put on a pair of jeans and instead have been opting for dresses.
I recently picked up this utility dress from Topshop which I really love, the colour is perfect and I do love a good shirt dress as I think they’re really versatile all year round. Since it was a day look and I had a lot of walking to do I just teamed the dress with a pair of leopard flat, Daniel Wellington watch, my usual handbag and sunglasses. It’s nothing fancy or groundbreaking but I really like it and I’m really enjoying the weather too!
The reason I was brave enough to bare my legs in autumn thanks to the Braun Silk-epil 5 wet & dry, as I usually hide my legs as soon as August ends. Braun asked me to take part in the 30 days of switch up your style campaign, which I agreed to as I love the idea of always being outfit ready all year round. I will admit that I usual start to show my legs a little less love in autumn and winter, which is awful as I am always left with only trouser or tights options.
I started epilating about a month ago now, I get my legs waxed in the summer but it can be very costly and time consuming all year round so I swapped over to epilating and have really been enjoying it. It’s not as painful as I thought it was and I even use it on really short hairs meaning I don’t have to wait too long between epilating sessions. The Silk-epil 5 Wet & Dry can be used in water or out which I love as I find using it in the shower can help open the pores in my skin and really reduce any sort of discomfort.
Adding the Braun Silk-epil 5 Wet & Dry to my routing has made my morning routine so much easier as I don’t have to worry about shaving my legs but even more exciting is that my legs are now always ready for a great skirt or a beautiful dress, even if I was feeling particularly lazy that morning!
If you also want to join me in the #BraunBeautyChallenge then share your photos with the hashtag, get them pins on show before it gets too cold!
How do you get your legs ready for your favourite dress/skirt?
