I’ll admit I feel a little silly writing this post since the weather in London is dreadful.

May? More like November, it’s been raining non-stop for days and there’s no sign of it stopping.

But hopefully, some of you have a nice holiday planned somewhere hot and if not hopefully summer will arrive at some point over the next few months.

Either way, this dress is just too perfect not to share. I found it whilst building my Spain wardrobe for my trip last week (more on that soon) at New Look. I love New Look at the moment, it’s affordable and just generally killing it.

This dress covers almost ever trend, which sounds like overkill but it isn’t.

Gingham- tick, a pop of red- tick, embroidery-tick, Bardot neckline- tick. It’s got it all, for just £24,99

I particularly love that it’s a black and white gingham as the usual navy doesn’t suit me. The shape isn’t quite perfect for a curvy body like mine but it really isn’t too bad. It can be dressed down with some converse or dressed up with some wedges for dinner like I did here.

Also, I bloody love these Wedges, and once it finally stops raining I won’t be taking them off. They’re incredibly comfy, the colour is perfect and I love the lace up detail- from JustFab.

Please excuse the photo quality, we were aiming for magic hour lighting but left it too late and it was starting to get a little too dark. And the tan lines. Please ignore those too. Rookie mistake.

For the last year or so I have been questioning my blogging choices. I love it but it’s changed so much. People no longer want to see a blog post with a nail polish review and I no longer want to write those sort of posts. But what do I want to write?

I started my blog a long time ago, I was 17 or 18, still taking my A-Levels and the whole blogosphere was a new thing. I am so proud that it has become my full-time and although I love it, I am also a little out of love. I’m really struggling with a direction for this blog and I think you’ll probably get a little less beauty.

I am no longer the 18-year-old girl that could only afford drugstore lipstick and Barry M nail polishes, although I still love these things there’s so much more I want to share and I’m going to start writing A Little Obsessed about whatever I fancy writing about. I think you’ll get the usual beauty posts, teamed with a little bit of fashion, a dash of travel and all held together with my thoughts and experience- and I hope you’ll stay for the ride.

This blog is going to longer be defined as a beauty blog but a whatever-I-feel-like-writing-about blog. I feel like we’ve all grown up over the last seven years and hopefully, we’ll all enjoy the change. I just want to fall in love with blogging again, properly. And I’m really hoping this change will help as I’m not okay with only blogging once a month. It is also worth noting though that I love YouTube and I want to make lots more content there too and any support you can show there would mean a whole lot to me!(link here)

Let’s talk a little about my outfit from last week…

Now, the reason I am not a proper fashion blogger (amongst other reasons) is that I just can’t get outfit photos shot quickly enough and rely on my boyfriend with zero photo experience to take all my images. I am actually not sure any of these items are in stock but fingers crossed as I love each individual item in the look.

I’ve been wearing this grey coat all winter and I love it! It’s perfect to dress up any outfit, it’s long enough that it keeps me quite warm and the colour goes with almost everything. It is from New Look but no longer available but they have this similar option which I love.

This culotte jumpsuit is really versatile and I think I’ll be wearing it into spring and summer, the bra underneath is from ASOS and has been getting a lot of love recently, I love the harness detail and it was super affordable from ASOS in their bigger bust range.

grey 3Onto accessories, love these shoes however I get awful back pain wearing them, there is something about chunky heels that my back doesn’t like. Stilettos are fine- chunky, usually more comfortable heels, it hates, therefore I’m sadly going to have to retire these, even though I love them!

And finally, my new Marc B bag which someone initially thought was Chanel! I love a good quilted back, there so classic and timeless! This one is really affordable and the perfect size for everyday use.

I haven’t blogged in so long that pressing the publish button is making me far more anxious than it should, but hopefully I’ll be back soon!

Let me know what your favourite pieces in your wardrobe have been this winter in the comments.

1. Opt for a darker nail colour

2. Go for a walk
Autumn is one of the pretties seasons, you can walk throw all the crunchy leaves before winter sets and it gets too cold to be outside.

3. Experiment with some new hot drinks
I’m yet to try a Pumpkin Spice Latte but love Salted Caramel Hot Chocolates and all types of teas.

4. Make Halloween Plans

5. Get back on Netflix
Catch up with your favourite series that you haven’t had a chance to watch all summer or start making your way through all the films you’ve been meaning to watch. My favourite series are Hart of Dixie and Modern Family although I am currently addicted to Suits

6. Swap your summer dress for scarfs, jumpers and coats
Layering up can up fun!

7. Make your way through your candle collection

8. Give baking another go

9. Start thinking about Christmas

10. Volunteer
This can be a little scary but it’s also very rewarding, if you have a little bit of extra time volunteer in your local community, visit an elderly person or offer to serve Christmas lunch.

It’s hard to believe since it rained to heavily (and was so cold) the whole of yesterday but we actually had some lovely weather here in London on the weekend. I had a few new bits which I was looking forward to wearing and felt that the nice weather would be a great reason to do so.

I’ve been trying to get myself out of jeans and was browsing the internet for some shift dresses that I could wear with tights when I came across this pinafore which caught my attention. The fact that it’s black appealed to me instantly, I like the length of the skirt, especially as it’s getting a little colder and I have nothing like this in my wardrobe. It’s the perfect dress to take you from summer to autumn (which starts tomorrow!) and I’m looking forward to playing around and layering it over jumpers when the weather gets a little colder.

This time I put it over this very pretty and easy to wear Zara T-shirt, it’s nothing too fancy but I think that the pattern is almost lace like and makes it more versatile.

My shoes were also a recent purchase which you may have seen in my recent Primark Haul (link here), I love Primark heels as I find them very comfortable and of course quite inexpensive too. I love these as I’m really into both lace-up and pointy heels- and these are both! I wore this for quite a while this day and they were no different to my previous Primark heels, very comfy but also really pretty- and all for £14! Along with the shoes, my jacket is also Primark (£25)- it’s a great colour, inexpensive and perfect for this type of in-between weather.

My Parfois bag was a holiday purchase and although I usually sling if over my shoulder I instead opted to tuck in the handle and wear it as an oversized clutch. These Quay glasses also pretty much haven’t left my face for the past few months and I’m sad that the summer sun is disappearing away and sooner or later these will have to put away too…

With autumn starting in a couple of weeks time I though I would quickly recap some of my non-beauty favourites. I totally missed Augusts beauty favourites on my YouTube channel but that just means I’ll have extra items to talk about next month so don’t forget to keep an eye out for that.

In terms of clothing I love summer but I have a fairly large summer wardrobe which only gets worn a few months a year so I don’t end up finding too many favourites. The said I fell in love with my Daniel Black Leather Gladiator Sandals, I wore them with everything, they were really comfortable and great quality. Even after wearing them religiously all summer they’re still in great condition and I now have my eye on some Daniel over the knee boots for the colder months.

My go-to bag for everything was this bright Ralph Lauren Bag from My Bag. I always take a bright coloured handbag away with me and this one was perfect, it added a pop of colour to my usually boring outfits but was a great shape and size for a day sightseeing or even for a day at the beach and I’m a little disappointed I didn’t pick up the smaller version too.

I took a fair few pairs of sunglasses away with me but ended up only wearing my Quay ones, I have two pair; one from Topshop and the other from ASOS but love them both equally. They’re affordable, good quality and really fun, I haven’t had a pair of sunglasses that I like this much for years and I’m so tempted to buy a few more pairs.

I’ve also been trying out Esthechoc which is suppose to be a daily portion of chocolate designed to increase the level of antioxidants in the skin, I’m not too sure if it really does this but I think day size portions of chocolates is a great idea and it really stops me eating too much chocolate like I usually would if I were to start an entire bar.

I haven’t been watching much on TV but have recently finished Modern Family and could not recommend it enough, it’s a great series for almost any age and has won numerous comedy awards. I also started to re-watch Hart of Dixie which is potentially my favourite ever series but I don’t think gets enough recognition. I’m think about starting Pretty Little Liars once I have finished but I would love some recommendations too.

Now I’m ready for autumn candles and spiced lattes….
