5 to try

Barry M Surfboard Nail Polish
I’d been struggling to find the perfect nail polish for this not so summery summer we’re currently experiencing in London. Barry M Surfboard is the perfect soft pink with a hint of lilac and really inoffensive, plus it lasts surprisingly long!

Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara
I’m not usually a huge fan of waterproof mascara but as it’s summer I think it’s good to always have a tube to hand, in case of water flights, beach trips or hayfever. I love the original Better Than Sex Mascara and have been loving this one over the last month. I don’t think I would ever switch full time over to the waterproof one as it is so much harder to remove but it held up really well with my extreme hayfever yesterday, the rest of my makeup didn’t do so well. I’ve made a whole video dedicated to this mascara so check it out here.

Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate
A few months back I had a skin consultation in Kiehl’s Regent St, where they recommend lots of products to help improve my dehydrated skin. One of the recommended products was this Kiehl’s oil which helps correct the visible appearance of Skin Fatigue. I’ve been using it on days that I feel my skin needs some extra TLC and have found it to really help make my skin look more glowy and healthy!

L’Oreal Cushion Foundation & Cushion Bronzer
I’ve been raving about this to anyone that will listen as I just think it’s the perfect, lightweight, buildable, summer product. The foundation is nice a glowy, just how I like it but can easily be powdered down for a more matte look. The bronzer adds a really natural looking glow/tan to the skin which I just love and can be really intensified with a powder bronzer.

Collection Deluxe Lipsticks
I always say that drugstore nude lipsticks are just as good as high-end ones and these really prove it. They remind me a little of the MAC Lustre finish lipsticks, they’re relatively sheer but buildable with an almost gloss finish. I love this sort of finish when the rest of my skin is quite matte and I think in nude colours it can look really beautiful (I would go for matte bold colours). The three that caught my eye are Baby Doll, Chicago and Liberty as they’re all beautiful, everyday nudes. I would even say Chicago is a great dupe for MAC Patisserie which is one of my favourite ever lipsticks!

Would love to hear which five products you’ve been loving recently in the comments.

I love a good summer bright nail polish and the Electric Nights collection from China Glaze really delivered!
I hadn’t used a China Glaze polishes in a while but have always found the quality to be excellent and these were no different. I have the shades Red-y to Rave and Glow with the Flow; Red-y to Rave is a real neon reddish-orange and Glow with the Flow is neon true pink. The application was great and I quite like the brushes to, I didn’t end up wearing the colour for very long as I got a manicure soon after but I did get lots of compliments on it whilst I was wearing it.
What is your favourite neon polish?

I can’t get enough of orange nails recently so when this came in the door I instantly replaced my nail varnish. I haven’t tried anything from the Butter Patent Shiner 10X range as it’s a new range which is free of most nail polish nasties and designed to be long-wearing, promote brighter, stronger, healthier nails.

It applied really well with two coats and I was surprised at how quickly it tried. As it’s the Patent Shine range I was really expecting a super glossy nail, instead it was just similar to a regular Gel or Top Coat finish and looks very polished on the nail.

I have only been wearing it for five days or so but have found there to be no chips or major tip-wear although I’d be interested to see if it does smooth, strengthen and make nail visibily brighter as it claims.

I went for the colour Jolly Good and its a perfect summer shade of coral both for hands and toes!

I had planned a different Manicure Monday for today but as soon as these arrived I just had to share them, they were the perfect addition for another beautiful day in London!

I’ve actually never heard too much about Jacava London but the pastel shades and gold lids caught my attention instantly, it’s a luxury British nail polish brand which 9-free brand meaning it doesn’t include nine of the toxic ingredients which some polishes contain. Instead they are formulated with Argan Oil, Jojoba Oil and vitamin E as well as being vegan friendly.

This pastel collection is their SS15 collection, inspired by honeyed colours of an exotic beach, the sunset, sea and pastel rainbow that fall in-between. I can’t comment too much on longevity and wear as I only received them this morning but was surprised how well these colours applied with two coats. They were opaque and streak-free in just two coats, each colour I tried was even more beautiful than the last, I’m sure I’ll be getting lots of wear out of this collection.

The only negative I see with the brush is that it is longer than what I am use to which I find allows for slightly less control although it does cover the nail quite well. I tried Delicate Peach, Pink Ice and Park Lane but would be unable to pick a favourite, they’re all so beautiful!

As some of you that follow me on Instagram may know I have been in Paris for over a week and got back to a rather rainy London this morning (after missing my train last night!). Going through all my packages I was super excited to try out the new Bourjois 1 Second Polishes in the new Summer shades which are part of the Swimming Cool Collection, pastel polishes always help brighten my day.

As I couldn’t pick a favourite I decided to try all three; Pink-itude which is a very white based pink, Blue Lagoon, which is a slightly mint blue and Palm Peach, a peachy shade. As with all the Bourjois 1 Second polishes they have a great brush, apply easily and I am surprised as to how opaque they applied too.

I’ve decided to keep Pink-itude on for today but will probably change over to Palm Peach soon.

PS. Please excuse my cuticles, I need to up my cuticle oil game.
