I always find men the hardest to buy for and apart from ties, socks and the occasional watch, I really struggle to choose something. I’ve had a look around and since this is a beauty blog I thought I would share my favourite beauty items that any father would love wether the father of your children or your father.

A family favourite and a gift I have given to almost every man I know is the The Body Shop Maca Root Shaving Cream and Brush. It’s a great stable in any mans life; the brush is great quality, the shaving cream allows for a great shave (so I’ve heard) and the Maca Root range also comes with a face wash. If you’re looking for a fragrance on a budget than The Body White Musk is a great one to look into and I was surprised by just how great it smells with hints of lavender, geranium, musk and sandalwood.

If you are looking for a light summer fragrance that’s still a real man’s man scent than I would go for the John Varvatos Artisan Acqua although it has lots of floral and citrus scents it still remains quite traditionally masculine. Another great one is the Ermenegildo Zegna Uomo which I think is aimed at a slightly older more traditional man but which won’t break the bank as it’s only £18.50 currently in Boots.

If you are looking for skincare then the No7 Men Protect & Perfect Serum especially any man which is beginning to worry about ageing and hydrating. More of an investment but a great one if he’s a gym goer and is looking to really clean his skin to keep blemishes at bay is Clinique For Men Charcoal Wash and Cleansing Brush, it’s one of my favourite brushes, not too harsh but can really change your skin.

If you’re looking for the perfect fragrance for any young man then I would start with Hugo Boss Bottled Intense, Michael Kors For Men or Lacoste L.12.12 Jaune all three are perfect for any stylist, modern father.

The Thierry Mugler’s A* MEN gift set is perfect if you are looking for a little more than just a fragrance as it also comes with a hair & body shampoo but is a really interesting, unusual but beautiful fragrance.

I’ve got my father TABAC After Shave lotion as he doesn’t typically love beauty items but this is so classic and old school that  I think he’ll love it.

The weather in London has been getting better over the last month and we have had some truly beautiful days so it’s a great time to indulge in a lazy Sunday pamper and take care of things that sometime get forgotten in the winter, in order to really make the most out of the spring weather.

Although I know some people are religious with hair removal all year around,  I am a little more relaxed with it in the winter. If you fall in the same category as me that it’s the best place to start so that you ready to get your legs and arms out. I recently discovered the Veet Spawax Stripless Wax Warming Kit which makes at home waxing pretty easy but I often just go with a Gillette Razor.

I also like to spend some extra time scrubbing, buffing and moisturising my skin to remove any old skin as well as really insert life and hydration back in. Since I fake tan year round I actually do exfoliate quite often but often don’t moisturise head to toe but it really does make a huge difference, I’ve been reaching for The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea which also smells amazing. I’ve also been wearing sandals lately so like to pay extra attention to my feet and give them a mini at home pedicure.

If you’re a fake tanner like me than adding an extra light layer can make the world of difference, it makes me look thinner, more glowy and I just love looking sunkissed. My favourites have been Bondi Sands Tanning Lotion and the Clarins Radiance Plus which I have been using on my face and body.

Finally I like to paint my nails and I have really been loving fun spring shades recently, check out my recent Manicure Monday posts here

How have you updated you pamper routine for spring?

I was initially a little confused as to why The Body Shop started a large tea defuser only to find out that it is part of their new Fuji Green Tea range which also has a bath tea. Japanese women have apparently been using green tea in their baths for generations for it’s detoxifying properties.

Most of us now drink green tea regularly for it’s antioxidants and other health benefits so it’s great to apply to also use it topically. The range is infused with real green tea leaves from the Mount Fuji region in Japan.

The Fuji Green Tea Bath Tea has been my go to product when I want a relaxing but detoxifying bath, I love that you can also get a Infuser as it really adds to the whole ‘tea’ experience. Obviously you don’t drink your bath water but it’s a really lovely alternative to bath salts and actually really affordable too.

To finish off they have a beautiful Fuji Green Tea Body Lotion which is beautifully light weight but still very hydrating.

L’Occitane Hand Cream Trio, £22
Every woman needs hand cream but I feel mother’s need it even more and L’Occitane hand cream has to be one of my favourites ever. I love this trio as it’s got a range of scents and they’re handbag friendly too.

Soak & Sleep Grey Brushed Cotton Flannel, £45
I really love a personalised gift and these grey cotton pyjamas are a timeless present for any age. Soak & Sleep offer a whole range of personalised items and I also have/love the bathrobe.

Pandora Charm, Charms start at £20
I love jewellery as gifts as you don’t have to worry too much about the size of the person an a simple silver bracelet is pretty universal (unless they prefer gold). I particularly love Pandora bracelets as you can buy charms for future gifts and really personalise it to the individual.

Lucie & Sebastien Champagne (via 31Dover), £30
Mothers day calls for a celebration and therefore Champagne! A great gift that you will hopefully get to share.

Estee Lauder Modern Muse Chic, £45
I think choosing a perfume for someone is always quite difficult and if you’re mother has a signature fragrance then I probably would stray from that. If she doesn’t or you know she is looking for something new than I would recommend giving Modern Muse Chic by Estee Lauder a go, it’s a feminine floral scent perfect for spring.

This Works Sleep Plus Pillow Spray, £25
Everyone deserves a good night’s sleep but I find I sleep best when I use the This Works Pillow Spray, I like the original but the Plus version is even better! Perfect for mum’s that are looking to catch up on their beauty sleep.

Becksondergaard Clutch, here
Clutches are currently my favourite gift to give as they aren’t as expensive as handbag’s and can often feel a little more luxurious as they’re are typically used on more special occasions. I am currently in love with this pale pink leather one which also comes in a few other colours but is the perfect size for essentials.

The Body Shop, starts at £4.50
If you are looking for affordable skincare than The Body Shop Vitamin E is the perfect balance between affordable and luxurious. I love all the products in the range but feel I reach for it even more in spring and summer, they also have some limited edition Queen themed packaging just for mother’s day.

Becksondergaard Scarf, here
One again I think a scarf is timeless and perfect for any age. Both my mother and I are in love with this one which is a Silk and Wool blend, she has already hinted at it as her mother’s day gift.
