I mentioned in a recent post that I love the new Zoeva Warm Neutral Palette so naturally I had to share a makeup look using it! I also used a few new bits along the way and the most amazing, easy to apply lashes.
PS. I’m in Amsterdam at the moment and a little MIA on here but add me on Snapchat: alittleobsessed
Admittedly I’m not a huge V-day fan but I am a bit of a Lush fan so naturally I headed to the Oxford Street Store to pick up a few limited edition Mother’s Day & Valentine’s Day products. There are some really adorable and great limited edition bits and I had to control myself a little as Lush products can add up.
I’m not really too sure how we’re into the second month of 2016 but we sure are! I’m hoping February will be a fun month so I’m actually really looking forward to it but more on that over the next few weeks…
January was a bit a fail in terms of working out but I did manage to try quite a lot of beauty items, many of which had been in my house for a while but I hadn’t got around to trying them. It was also drugstore week which forced me to try some inexpensive products and that was probably my favourite part of January. I’m fortunate enough to get send a fair amount of higher end products, meaning I often reach for the more luxurious over the more inexpensive but the drugstore is a truly great place! I discovered some great drugstore items and I also wrote a bit of a guide to the UK drugstore if you need a bit of guidance around Boots or Superdrugs.
So drugstore week has come to a close, I do have one more video to upload but it requires me recording a voice over and I have a cold so I’m going to try to postpone to a time where I have a slightly less nasally voice.
I really enjoyed forcing myself back into the drugstore and have discovered so many great products in doing so. A few years back whilst I was still a student this blog was focused almost fully on drugstore makeup but as my blog grew and as I became an adult (and got a job) I seemed to move on to higher end products which often feel more luxurious but there are some real treasures to be found in Boots and Superdrugs.
My top new discoveries of this week have been the Maybelline Brow Satin which I have used every day since discovering it and the Sleek Matte Me Lipstick in Birthday Suit.
When filming my new video (out later this video) I had a good rummage through my collection and made some great re-discoveries. The L’Oreal Glam Bronze is the perfect winter bronzer, adding just the perfect amount of warmth to the face. I also used the Seventeen Eyes On Me palette in Birthday Suit and turns out it has some truly beautiful, creamy colours (I didn’t try the creams shadows though).
The Revlon Ultra HD Matte Me Lip Colors are out in March and I’m so glad that you guys seem to be as excited as I am (Swatches here).
I’ve embedded all my #drugstoreweek videos below incase you haven’t had a chance to watch them all yet but don’t forget to check out My Guide to the UK Drugstore.
I’m thinking of making Drugstore week a regular thing, maybe every 3 months or so- let me know what you think in the comments. I really want to share my favourite affordable brushes, as well as dive into drugstore skincare.
I’m completely joking. New year, same old me- with a slightly more organised and down-sized makeup collection.
I’m not the most organised person ever and makeup is my vice so my makeup collection does sometime get a little out of hand, which is why at the start of every year I like to have a clear out. This years one was quite a good one and I think I got rid of a lot of products I didn’t need and which I will be finding new homes for.
