A kind of life rule I use, which I love, says:

    Love many, trust few.
Learn to steer your own canoe.

(Beauty tip-wise, my hint is to always use day cream with SPF, even in mid-winter when the sun seems to hibernating).

I use few drops of Clarins Blue Orchid Facial Oil mixed in with my usual night moisturiser on my face at night. It turns an ordinary cream into a super rich cream that softens my face.

My proposal for a way to help womankind is that women (and I’m including teenage girls here) should be kinder to each other and more supportive. Unfortunately when we read about young girls self-harming because of verbal abuse & bullying, whether on-line or in the real world, the culprits are often other females. Girls should be taught that it is not acceptable to bully others because of their weight, hair, dress sense or other aspects of their appearance, or make unpleasant comments about other physical characteristics such as odour. unfortunately too many seem to think that the way to be popular is to be bitchy. We see this also with a certain type of women’s magazine, where there are photos pointing out a star’s cellulite or other “imperfection” with unpleasant comments. Instead that photo of a celeb who has a less-than-“perfect” body should be used to help girls and women feel that their own “imperfections” are normal and nothing to be ashamed off.

I would say be kind to yourself. I have found as I have aged that oil is very useful and needed. It seems that in the Winter I am now prone to develop dry skin, even my hair has a tendency to dry out. So products with nurturing oil have become so helpful in replenishing the condition of my skin and hair. Other women may find they age similarly, good to be aware of what is beneficial.

My beauty tip would be to spend your time doings things that make you happy, and to stop worrying what other people think. Smiles are the most beautiful thing in the world. Since I stopped worrying about whether I had the right lipstick or the clothes that were fashionable, I’ve discovered my own style, and my favourite clothes and make up makes me smile every day! Womankind need to realise how beautiful they are and put themelves in other people’s shoes. When my friends complain about their spots or fat, I can’t even spot what they’re complaining for, and it reminds me that it’s probably the same for me.

I might be approaching retirement but I still look after myself and so, when I hear about smoothies, I went for it. Two years into it, I’ve managed to lose a little weight and I feel so good. My secret? Cucumber. Whether it’s on the face, in a salad, or as a smoothie it’s magical. Try blending half a cucumber with one stick of celery and then adding fresh water to thin it down a bit.

Tell me that that doesn’t make you feel good and feeling good is halfway to being happy and healthy.

My self motivation quote is “Be your own kind of beautiful” who says beautiful it perfectly clear skin or long shiny hair! Fibbers that’s who! Everyone is beautiful in there own way! My thinning patchy hair is beautiful as it’s an after effect of the birth of my beautiful son! I embrace that!

My proposal to help womankind is simply to be the best you can be. Whether that’s the best mother, child, sibling, or the best at your job or your hobbies. We need to lead by example, no more do as I say, not what I do. The only way we will help our daughters and granddaughters to better themselves and stay on the right path is doing so ourselves. Being good at what we want to be good at, working hard, and showing women who don’t think it’s possible that all it takes is a little determination and support

My best piece of advice when you are trying to lose weight is to schedule in ‘naughty days’ for example a weekend away or a meal with friend. We have one about every 2 weeks. It breaks your diet into smaller chunks. So you can say to yourself. I’m not having that cake because I only have to be good for 5 more days and I can do that. If you don’t your diet feels never ending and when you do give in you feel guilty instead of enjoying your treat

I have lots of brilliant beauty hacks / tips that make my life easier! A really simple one is when you have painted your nails, dunk your hand into a bowl of ice water! It dries your nail varnish and really does work! I have tried so many so called hints, tips and hacks that simply don’t work or don’t do what they claim but this simple little trick really does work! Another nail varnish hack that really works and saves your money is how to create matte nails without having to buy matte varnish! Simply paint your nails with your regular glossy varnish, then hold them for abut 3 seconds, about 5 inches above steam (I do it when I’m cooking veg on the hob) and voila, your glossy nails turn matte!

Be unique, after all we all are.
Don’t be bothered about what others might think, go your own way, the old sayings are always the best “life is too short” but I always think that means try not to be too critical of others as well.
I always always use Palmers Cocoa Butter, I use it for everything including sun burn. It works a treat

Dream, believe and achieve! Are my three wise words.

I started running in 2010,just 10 k and a few half marathons.I really struggled with my achillies was swollen. In 2011 my partner applied for the London marathon for me( so lovely if him) and yes, guess what,I got a place.
Training started, panic started and after watching the marathon on TV for years I thought now way can I do this.Months of training passed winter settled in,training still had to go ahead in the dark, cold, wet evenings. I seeked medical advice for my achillies and was referred to a pysio.Well a week before the marathon I was told that I could still pull out because my achillies could snap anytime.NO! I wasn’t going to let that training go to waste so I did it.
Four years have nearly passed and in On April 3rd I will celebrate my 100 marathon! I still have achillies problems and was diagnoised with congenital heart disease a few years ago…….enjoy life, smile and drink lots of water x

Never let fear hold you back from anything. As they say, “Fear kills more dreams than failure ever will.” I took a job in New York for a year and was absolutely petrified, but it was the best thing that ever happened to me and I had the time of my life!

Style-wise, a black leather biker jacket will make any outfit look stylish in an instant and is a wardrobe must-have.

for the best soft kissable lips .. put some vaseline on your lips, rub gently with an old tooth, wipe off gently and re apply some lip seal… if you do this regularly you will have lovely plump lips ..

Salmon coloured or orange coloured concealers/correctors for dark circles or hyperpigmentation! I would be lost without my benefit erase paste and nyx orange concealer. I look like a panda with my dark circles and the erase paste helps a lot. I wish there were more corrective concealers on high street/drug store brands.

Since I started yoga I have heard many positive quotes. For me the one that I have embraced is do your best and find what feels good. What has worked for me is doing 20 mins of yoga everyday rather than a class a week, so I have found what feels good for me and I am going with it! 🙂
