Affordable Paris Hotel

Last month whilst in Paris we staying in the Holiday Inn OperaOpera-Grand Boulevard, I usually opt for more of a boutique hotel but the location of this one was great as were the reviews.

I’m such an over packer and after facing Paris’ Metro stations (which don’t have enough escalators or lifts) with my super heavy suitcase I was happy to find that the hotel was literally right outside the exit. I managed to mess up the days but they were very understanding and kindly changed our booking. We dropped our things off early, far too early for check-in but they looked after all our suitcases.

We went out for some breakfast and to explore a little before coming back to collect our room keep and check out the room. I was surprised at just how large it is as the previous hotel I stayed in, in Paris, was tiny- I mean we could barely put our bag down. We did stay in the Executive Room but it was actually cheaper than the room I had previously stayed in and double the size!

Once we had dumped everything off we asked the hotel staff for some recommendations which were all great and they also gave us a map! The hotel was a short walk from the Palais the Palais Royal which I’ve never been to before but is very popular with Instagrammers and from there we went on to the Louvre and the Tuileries Gardens.

It was great that the hotel had a tube just outside as it made getting back so easy even in the evening. We were lucky to get great weather whilst out there and spent our Friday evening eating Pizza and then at the Eiffel Tower watching all the street acts, it was such a beautiful evening!

Once we got back we had a huge comfy bed and although the hotel is on a fairly busy road we didn’t hear any noise from the outside. The breakfast was also great; buffet style with everything I wanted from continental to full-english and absolutely delicious.

We didn’t spend too much time in the hotel but I would have been happy to, it had a desk to work on, good internet connection, a bath tub and even good magazines!

I also had a sneaky look in the room we were suppose to get if I hadn’t mixed up my days and it was beautiful, a little bit smaller but really charming- I was particularly impressed by the fireplace and double sink!

I had such a lovely stay and would really recommend the OperaOpera-Grand Boulevard Holiday Inn if you are looking for an affordable hotel room in Paris in a great location too. It had everything I need from a hotel and really exceeded my expectations, I’m already looking forward to going back…

I also filmed a Get Ready With Me whilst at the hotel, check it out below….

looks good but just checked on their website and it definitely not what I would call affordable – 3 nights for 2 people incl. breakfast for well over 950€!

How strange! I just check and its £280 for three nights (not sure if that's with breakfast or not) in a standard room, maybe it depends on the dates! XX

I've always wanted a short break in Paris but the cost of hotels makes it so difficult when you consider how much it is by Eurostar x
