I love a good stationery haul. Other than makeup stationery has to be my weakness but I’ve recently been able to control it quite well, even if the huge Sharpie set from WHSmith was on sale and I have never been so tempted by something in my life. (slight exaggeration but they were incredible!)
The first thing I needed for the new year was a new diary, in the past I’ve used Moleskine but since I really like the one-day-per-page diary’s I opted for a Paperchase one last year. This year however I went for a Sainsbury’s one, Sainsbury’s stationery game is pretty strong at the moment and they have such fab prints on everything from notebooks and diary’s to pen and paperclips. I was between a few of them but in the end went for this black and gold polka dotted one and I’m really happy with it, I love the layout of the pages as well as the extra space for notes, I only wish it also had a bookmark.
Finding a notebook was by far the hardest challenge of the last few weeks but I love to start the new year with a new notebook. Last year I picked up a soft cover, black notebook with no lines (I think that might make it a sketchbook) from a Pinterest event and although quite boring it was absolutely perfect! The soft cover meant I could role it up and the plain inside meant I could write or draw as big or as small as I wished. Who knew finding a replacement would be so hard?! I searched high and low but everything had lines or a hard cover, even sketchbook in art shops were never right- often having very thick paper. In the end something had to give and I decided that I would have to buy one with lines, I spotted this pastel set of Moleskins on offer in Sainsbury’s and the colour persuaded me, even if they are lined. They’re also a little smaller than I would have liked but I guess getting a new notebook three times a year could be quite exciting.
Last month I was also introduced to Kikki.K which is a Scandinavian stationery shop, everything in there is so beautiful but a little on the pricey side if you want an organiser or something of the kind, not so pricey that you won’t be able to afford it but enough to make you think twice. I didn’t really need anything but could help but pick up a pen and some gold tape, silly but I wanted something.
Then onto yesterday evenings , all silly and unnecessary but such a bargain I couldn’t resist. I bought quite a lot in the sale this year (haul coming soon) but sadly most of it will be going back. Last night I popped into Selfridges in the evening just to exchange a lipstick and stumbled across the sale table in the stationery section. I largely bought bits for props for blog photos such as these letters which cost 10p down from £1.50, the string of stars £1 down from £18 (who pays £18 for these?!), some bronze paper for 20p and some gold binder clips for £2 down from £18.
Whilst in I also checked out the, all so beautiful but just so pricey!
You definitely found some amazing bargains in Selfridges, but I agree, who would pay £18 for those stars?!

Those are some great deals you’ve got here 🙂 I have a serious stationery obsession, so I get it 🙂 My weakness are notebooks and notepads (paper, actually) 😀 Thanks for sharing xx

So many stationery bargains. I seem to have a mountain empty notebooks but I still buy more. I think I am addicted. The gold letter are super cute & so cheap too.
