Although I hadn’t tried anything from the original Primark PS Beauty range I was still pretty excited to try the new PS Pro range. It’s their more premium makeup range which they claim is their ‘first high performing beauty range’- big claims so naturally I had to put it to the test.
The press release said ‘Pro is a high quality, advance and technical range aimed at those of us who want to take their makeup regime to the next level’ but since everything was under £5 I was really excited to try it all so here are my thoughts…
Things to skip…
Concealer Palette- just too dry!
Longwear lip Liner Pen- Lip pencils are pencils for a reason, I just don’t understand why you’d use a pen.
Lip Primer- Literally awful, it just broke!
Liquid Eyeliner- Basically like applying your eyeliner with a blunt crayon as it’s so fat.
Things to consider…
Longwear CC Corrector- There aren’t too many affordable colour correctors out there so it’s great that this one is so easily available. I found it too green on me and made my skin a little cakey but I think it might actually work on someone that has a lot of redness.
Miracle Pencil- Great nude pencil to highlight cupids bow, inner corner of the eye or line the bottom lash line.
HD Eyebrow Pens- Not too sure what’s HD about them, bare in mind that they’re a little warm, so skip these if you like your brows achy like I do. If you do pick these up then be sure to use a light had and build up your brows slowly as they can look a little unnatural.
Finishing Powder- nothing groundbreaking but it’s nice and does what you want it to.
HD Mascara- It’s a little clumpy but it does add volume and lift, not my favourite mascara but definitely not the worst!
Things to try…
The foundations- I’m not saying this is as good as Chanel and Nars but it’s also 1/6 of the price at just £5. It has decent coverage, better than highstreet shade range and I think would work particularly well on dryer skins.
Illuminating Primer- I can’t really comment on the other primers as I haven’t tried them but the illuminating one if surprisingly good! I don’t think it really prolonged the longevity of my makeup but my skin look more radiant and healthy with this on.
Lipsticks- The lighter shades are beautiful and would highly recommend but if you don’t like non-matte bold lips then avoid these as they aren’t matte.
Pro Universal Lip Pencil- If you like to keep quite a minimal makeup bag then this is a great product to go for and actually a product which is quite difficult to find from other brands.
Lip Glosses- I find that all glosses fade so there is rarely any reason to spend extra ££ on them, again I like nude glosses but would happily wear any of these.
Overall, the range is a little hit and miss but since everything is under £5 you can experiment without a huge investment which is great! Have you tried anything from the new PS Pro Range?
the whole range is a bit of a “meh” for me, I just need more from my makeup. But I have seen it has been popular in my local primark, maybe everyone is just trying it out! I don’t own anything from them yet, should maybe try something… no idea what though lol

I saw these in store yesterday and wasn’t impressed by the stands at all. Maybe it was because it’s half term and the stand had been destroyed by the teenagers let loose on the city, or maybe it’s because people see it as cheaper and therefore allowed to mess it up (just like MUA seems to be in my local Superdrug). Nothing jumped out at me as something that I wanted to try, and I’d rather spend the equivalent (or a tiny bit more) in NYX which had opened in Boots across the shopping centre.

I tried the Mattifying Primer and I’ve really like it so far and obviously a bargain for £5! I can’t say I’ve tried anything else from the line though, just the primer.

I’ve never tried Primark’s makeup, I hadn’t realised they’d brought out another range. I think I’ll have to pop in and buy some of it (or all of it…). I’ll definitely try the lipsticks, I feel like even the cheaper brands can’t really go wrong with them.
