Christmas Gifts: Perfumes

One of the most common Christmas presents is Perfumes, I personally do like receiving perfumes and think they make fabulous gifts especially as they can be quite expensive to buy for yourself. However some people do think its a personal choice they would rather make themselves so it is worth finding out if the person you are thinking about buying perfume for would like another one or if they always use the same one.

The four I am going to talk about aren’t particularly new perfumes but they are some of my favourite and are all used by my friends as well. I am not going to try and describe smells as I am awful at it but these are my recommendations and the perfumes I think you should try out yourself.

Thierry Mugler Angel*
They say’An Oriental Gourmand composed of three sensual waves that melt into one captivating harmony: the CELESTIAL WAVE with the soft notes of bergamot, the DELICIOUS WAVE with its delicately sweet notes of red fruits and praline and the SENSUAL WAVE with its unique blend of patchouli, vanilla, cedar wood and white musk.’

My friends have been wearing this perfume for years but I only recently got a bottle of my own. This bottle is the refillable Eau de Toilette 40ml bottle however Thierty Mugler has released a Christmas Limited edition version of the Eau de Parfum which has a beautiful star bracelet!
Eau de Parfum 25ml-£51.50
Eau de Parfum 50ml-£66.50

 Pacco Rabanne Black XS
They Say ‘The initial burst of Paco Rabanne Black XS for Her is all radiance and sparkle as the essences of Pink peppercorn, Tamarind blossom and Cranberry explode with freshness, youth and sensuousness. Then the heart notes of Black violet, Hellebore Rose and Cacao flower enter into play, weaving their own magic. An overdose of Massoia wood in the base notes forms the basis of Black XS for Her, with patchouli and Tahitian vanilla underscoring the luscious, feminine and sexy side of this bewitching fragrance’

If you are looking for a perfume for a 20 something male or female then I don’t think you can go wrong with Pacco Rabanne Black XS but also the Lady Million & One Million Perfumes. They also aren’t quite as pricey as the Theierry Mugler bottles. I love the packaging and smell of this perfume and when everyone started wearing Lady Million I went back to this one. I’ve been wearing it since August I will be repurchasing when I reach the bottom of this 80ml Bottle.
Gift set £35.50
50ml Eau de Toilette £35.50

Marc Jacobs Daisy
They Say ‘Radiant and enchanting, Daisy is a sparkling floral bouquet – spirited and fresh, wrapped in comfort and warmth. At the heart of Daisy is a floral with vintage edge: Violet. Sophisticated with a touch of whimsy, Violet captures the eclectic, vintage flavour of Marc Jacobs’ feminine, edgy designs’

I currently have a 75ml bottle of the Eau so Fresh but I would recommend the Eau de Parfum or Toilette as it is the winter and this is a little lighter. I got a gift set with the original perfume in it last year and it was one of my favourite perfumes. Its a floral scent with amazing packaging that looks stunning on any dressing table, I think this perfume is perfect both for your mum and your little sister.
50ml Eau de Toilette £45
10ml Easy de Toilette £56

Thierry Mugler Alien*
They Say ‘Distinctive and mysterious, yet comforting and soft, Alien by Thierry Mugler conveys passion, sensuality and the essence of absolute femininity. A rich floral woody amber containing jasmine sambac, cashmeran wood and white amber it is a fragrance whose magic tral awakens your emotions. A scent like no other it is irresistibly appealing and totally out of this world.’

Alien almost a classic in my eyes but it is also currently my favourite! I especially love the packaging of the Limited Edition Christmas bottle which comes with a lovely bangle around the bottle which is perfect to wear with all your Party clothes.

I LOVE Alien ! People always comment on it when I am wearing it . . . proving it is a beautiful perfume .

The leftover gift sets/boxes in the christmas sales are the best . I always wait for that time of the year to buy my smellys . It's like buying expensive perfume on the cheap AND getting a free body lotion or bodywash to go with it !

I am currently obsessing over Illamasqua Freak, sadly I think I am going to have to buy it for myself 🙁 Or Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb!

I asked for perfume this year, and also just bought another with an Amazon voucher as my 3 main scents all ran out at the same time!

I wear Daisy by Marc Jacobs and Ultraviolet by Paco Rabanne but I haven't every tried the others by each brand.

I hate getting perfume as a present, unless I specifically ask for a certain scent. I can be quite picky with perfumes and if I don't like it it's not like I can find an alternative use for it – it's just a waste.
Having said that I do love it when someone pays attention and gets me a perfume that I'd previously mentioned somehow!
