Revlon Colourburst- New Matte and Lacquer Balms

Revlon are set to release more Colorburst Crayons, this time in a range of formulas as well as adding some more colours to the original and loved line. It seems everyone is getting terribly excited and I must admit, they’re right to be excited. They retail for £7.99 each, wind up (and down) from the bottom and have a peppermint scent to them which although I don’t mind think it’s a little strange in a lipstick product.

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm
We may as well start with the creme de la creme, the new range of matte balms, made up of 10 colours and ranging from pinks and reds to purples and oranges. There is something for everyone in this range and I have fallen head over heels for these. I can’t usually wear matte colours as they are just too drying and cling to any mildly dry patch on my lips but these aren’t overly matte making them far more wearable, comfortable and flattering.  Revlon describe these as a velvety matte finish which I think is about right. They are high in pigment, apply beautifully (except the really dark colours which need a little bit more work) and look modern without looking over the top.

The Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balms also come in 10 shades and have a glossy finish with a slight shimmer to some of the shades. I also found them to be a little more pigmented then the original finish although I don’t think they last quite as long. They are perfect for anyone that loves a glossy lip but doesn’t love lipglosses (especially in winter!)

Revlon will also be adding 6 new shades to the existing Balm Stain range (I’ve misplaced one!), the colour seem largely quite summery ones and have a very natural finish.

Overall these are completely HOT products and I especially love the Matte Balms, I can’t wait to try all the colours! In the UK the official release is on the 22nd January in Boots and 18th February in Superdrugs but as always some stores may put the stock out slightly earlier.

Have these caught your attention? Which ones do you like the sound of the most?

Oh wow, the matte balms look so beautiful. I literally can't wait for them to come out – my purse is already cringing though. I may have to pick up most of the colours… (all in the name of research, of course – this blog is making a rather large hole in my pocket!)

I have the Lacquer Balm in Coquette. I don't know if the names are the same in the UK, as you didn't include the names. I also think it is weird that they are peppermint scent.

    Hi …

Love the swatches on this post but could you please add the name of the colors under each pic so I know which ones to look for when I finally get them closer to me.

Thanks and love the blog 🙂

My store only had two testers and the ones I tried weren't all that great but I love the look of loads of the shades you've pictured. Your photographs are lovely too by the way 🙂
