Since I wasn’t blessed with thick, voluminous hair, I am always on the quest for products that will help me fake it from Shampoos and Mousses to Micro-ring extensions and heated rollers. My most recent discovery has been Beauty Works Clip-in Extensions. This isn’t the first time I’ve worn extensions and have even had Micro-rings as well as clip-in extensions but since having my hair lightened I haven’t found the perfect colour match.
I don’t think hair extensions really differ that much from brand-to-brand as long as you get a good quality set (as some of the cheap ones can be awful!). Beauty Works use 100% real human remy hair, they have even won awards and the hair is exactly what you would expect. As my hair is currently balyage I have some ombre pieces in my hair along with some lighter blonde wefts. They came ready to clip-in which means no need to sew on your clips and once I got mine cut into a little I feel in love with them. They add a great amount of volume whilst still looking natural, real and without being too heavy. I’ve been able to curl them and straighten them and have received lots of comments about how nice my hair looks without a single person suspecting them to be extensions.
I personally think the key to getting hair extensions to look natural and as real as possible is to get them cut professionally which almost any hairdresser will be happy to do. I also like to keep the length not a million miles away from natural hair as I think anything more than 6 inches longer than my real hair starts to look a little faker and harder to disguise. Obviously a great colour match is also essential.
I’m really happy with the quality and colour of my new extensions. Can’t wait to get even more wear out of them and would recommend Beauty Works if you too are looking into extensions. Extensions really aren’t as scary as people thing and they can really help you achieve the look you want!
