Christmas Glitter for Grown ups

Glitter can often look childish or even at little over the top but it has a place in my heart. My friends call me a magpie and I am always drawn to anything gold and shiny therefore I use Christmas as the perfect excuse to indulge in glitter.

The easiest way to do glitter in on the nails; you can go for an accent nail, a balayage effect or if you are feeling particularly brave even full on glitter nails (stay tuned on my Instagram for this very soon!). It’s the perfect way to inject some festive cheer but in a more subtle way. My favourites glitters are Deborah Lippmann and Barry M- both very different price points but both absolutely beautiful. I have really been embracing glitter nails recently and you have been showing me lots of love because of it on Instagram, I can’t wait to paint all 10 nails a intense gold colour, although I am sure the removal will be no where near as fun!

My second favourite way to add a sparkle is on the eyes. You have a few choices from eyeshadows and pigments to glitter liner. Glitter shadows to tend to fall a little more than matte ones so bare that in mind and always do the eyeshadow first. My favourite thing however is to press a glitter eyeliner into eyeshadow on the lid as it seems to sparkle a little more and doesn’t fall or move as much.

If you aren’t really looking for a glitter and prefer a bit of shimmer/highlight than the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone is my favourite. I love it on the cheek bones, in the inner corner of the eye and under the brow bone.

What’s your favourite way to wear glitter?

(I put off posting this as Ana happened to write a post about glitter too- check it out here as its fab, as always but figured there was no point saving it for 4 months later after Christmas)

What a fabulous pic, and I love the look of that palette! I usually go for either nails or a gold glittery eye, i'll be saving the glittery eyes for NY this year though!

I can't never say no to glitter, a bit of shimmer is always good! I love to wear it on my nails (glittered polishes are my faves) and sometimes on my eyes with shimmery eyeshadows. This season is when I wear shimmery shades more often, it goes with the merry feeling! xx

I normally hate glitter as I find it a tad tacky, but I do love those Barry M polishes. I always cave around them!

That's some serious Magpie candy right there, so beautiful. On oily skin I find that too much glitter can have a chip pan effect haha, but subtle touches here and there is gorgeous! xx

I'm a big nail glitter fan. Barry M are probably my favourites, but as you said it's not easy to remove, but still always fun and festive for christmas.

I love glitter nails, but they're such a pain to get off. It's worth it though 😀
