Although I love chocolate I’ve never been a huge hot chocolate which you can make at home until now. I have tried so many different brands, melting real chocolate and even Nutella but it was never amazing. A few weeks ago I discovered the Whittards White and Dark Flaked Drinking chocolate and it’s game changing. It’s super indulgent, luxurious and superior to anything else I have tried at home. It’s made up of grated white and dark flakes of the highest quality chocolate and it’s delicious.
It’s also super easy to make, you simply add a few spoonfuls of chocolate flakes to milk (whole milk if you’re going all out), stir for a while over a high heat and serve up in your favourite mug.
Since it’s Valentine’s weekend I thought I would share some perfectly themed mugs. If you’re sharing your hot chocolate with a partner then I love these King & Queen mugs available from Simoney.co.uk. If you’re lucky enough to be indulging in a mug of hot chocolate all by yourself then I adore the Queen of Heart mug from Whittards with an original Alice in Wonderland illustration.
I then like to add some of the Whittard Mini Marshmallows which are so delicious that they almost didn’t make it into the mug (as I couldn’t stop eating them). Although they aren’t necessary they are a nice indulgent extra and perfectly sized.
I always end up having to share mine with my boyfriend and he agrees it’s far superior to most hot chocolate.
I also couldn’t help sharing the Alice in Wonderland Chocolate I got, I love the little quotes down the side and the beautiful illustrations. The whole collection would just make a beautiful gift!
I think I’ll be spoiling myself a little bit more over the next few weeks with this hot chocolate and dreaming of warmer weather.
It’s so cold outside, I think I need another one already….
This sounds so delicious I'm a very big hot chocolate fan!
