L’Oreal La Palette Nude- Worth the hype?

I managed to resist buying the L’Oreal La Palette Nude, even after hearing so many rave reviews as I don’t really need any more palettes but when L’Oreal sent me it I definitely let out a few squeals.

Being from L’Oreal this is a really affordable palette perfect for any beauty lover on a budget, 10 neutral shadow shades for under £15! The packaging is nice; sleek, secure and perfect for travel with a good size mirror. Theres a nice range of shimmers and matte which is really important for me. Formula wise I think it’s really nice but it’s definitely no Urban Decay Palette, the shimmery ones are really creamy, smooth and pigmented but the matte ones are a little bit lighter in pigmentation and not quite as soft. As I only typically use the mattes in the crease I don’t actually find this to be a problem but if you like them all over the lid than it’s something to consider, especially on darker skins.

It’s a beautiful palette but there are a few way I think it could be improved, there are only four shimmers which I think is a shame as they’re much better quality than the others and there are also a couple of shades that I wouldn’t wear and that I almost don’t think fit the palette. That said I’ve heard that the original La Palette Nude in Rose Gold has a few more shimmers so would potentially work a little better.

I have a few other drugstore palettes that I never reach for but I think this is one that I may keep and use from time to time. If you’re on a budget and looking a palette that offers more options than the typical quad or just want a palette to experiment with without have to invest £35+ then I would still say this is worth have a look at and considering.

What is your favourite eyeshadow palette? Have you found the perfect drugstore one?

    Hi

I bought the palette having high hopes for it as the colors look amazing only to find out the colors aren't all that pigmented well the matte shades are good but the shimmery shades take a lot of color to make it look like you have the eyeshadow on.. disappointing

I thought the same when I swatched it in Boots – didn't pick it up as I love using matte shades and they barely showed up! The shimmery colours are gorgeous though, looks like it would be very versatile! x

I love L'oreal but I've got to say I don't use them anymore. I was seriously disappointed to see they still test on animals, despite saying they don't. Urban Decay (part of L'oreal) definitely don't test on animals, so I normally stick to them or Barry M.

    Love your posts!

I didn't quite get on with this palette as the colours didn't show up very well on my skin tone, but for the price it's not all bad I guess x

I planned on buying this palette but swatched it in store and really wasn't impressed with the pigment/ texture of the shadows! Honestly I think for drugstore palettes, the MUA, makeup revolution or Sleek ones are better quality and cheaper too (even though the L'oreal packaging is nicer). Em x

I wanted to try this one since I have seen it in Marie Claire back in winter, but I have not seen it anywhere in shops, but yet again I did not look specifically or it either. I never tried a palette before as I don't wear eyeshadow more than a couple of times a year, but I wanna give it a try so maybe this will be the one despite thinking about the collection and make up revolution ones from drugstores.

I love the Isadora palettes! I checked out the L'Oreal one, but Isadoras is much more pigmented and more quality 🙂
