When Nintendo asked me to try out one of their new
New Nintendo 3DS and game I wasn’t too sure if it was
something I would enjoy but since I loved Nintendo when I
was younger and I have a friend which uses her DS regularly I thought I would
give it a go.
Luckily the game, New
Style Boutique 2 – Fashion Forward (exclusively
for 3DS), is all about fashion and beauty, you get to create your own character
and life in an imaginary world, work as a stylist or run your own boutique-
sounds like a fun world right?!

Right from the beginning I enjoyed the game, I love the idea of
building my own character- you can design it based around yourself or be really
creative and imagine up a whole new person.

I decided to base my character on myself and really concentrated
on getting her to look as much as me as possible, thinking about my own face
shape, colouring and features. Doing something like this is something that I
find really helps with real life makeup application and working out if you have
a wide face, for example, allows you to then use makeup to alter this if you want
to.

You also get to choose clothes for both yourself and the clients
that come into your store. Your own wardrobe at first is a little smaller,
think capsule wardrobe, meaning you have to be quite creative and mix and match
different available pieces. For the clients that come into my store I love
choosing the more expensive pieces but still have to ensure they look
good.

I’ve been playing this game for the last few nights and it’s a
really great way to get off social media before bed, especially as I’m not much
of a reader. I like to relax for an hour or so in bed with a cup of tea and
catch up with my boutique and ensure all my clients leave looking their best.
Although I enjoy playing games I never have enough space on my phone for them
so it’s great to have this on a separate console and I’m so impressed that they
have fashion and beauty games too!

If you’re looking for a way to relax and unwind in the evening
and like the sound of running your own virtual boutique from the comfort of
your sofa or bed than this is the game for you!
