My Summer Shade

I have been getting a few questions about my current hair colour as a lot of you noticed on Instagram that it’s quite a lot blonder. Plus, I’ve been dying to tell you all about Olaplex which is basically my favourite hair secret!

Once upon a time I thought I would never lighten my hair and instead would darken it as I thought it suited me more. Since Ombre and Balayage has been very popular recently I have been giving it a go myself and I really love it. I probably would never dye my entire hair blonde, as I find that the darker bits still really suit my colouring but I really do think blondes have more fun and would recommend giving balayage a go if you have been thinking about it.

The question I have been getting the most is if it has damaged my hair. I really don’t think lightening and bleaching your hair is the best thing you can do for your hair but I have recently discovered Olaplex and it has completely changed my hair, I can’t recommend it enough!

Olaplex is an in-salon treatment which helps to rebuild damaged hair bonds which have broken through chemical processes such as colouring, perming or even through the use of hair tools. Since starting to use Olaplex I find my hair doesn’t look as dry or damaged as it previously did and really help the hairs all over appearance. If you lighten your hair then I really think it’s a must and I can’t wait to have it done again as it does have to be topped up to maintain the same look as your hair is exposed to heated tools. Even whilst on holiday where I put my hair through a lot I think my colour stayed looking good without getting too dry or changing shade.

Back to the colour, I had my hair done at Blue Tit in Dalston, if you’re London based there is a sprinkling of Blue Tit Salons around and I had a great experience there. I’ve always wanted to be this colour but found hair stylist were always a little nervous to go this light but Kamila was amazing and got me to the exact colour I wanted. The technique she used was actually Flamboyage and I am in love with the all over effect!
